  • It comes as no surprise to anyone who pays for everyday necessities like food, rent, and gasoline that prices continue to rise. The newly released Consumer Price Index shows inflation rose 3.5% over this time last year, which is higher than the predicted 3.0%.
Today the typical American household spends approximately $270 more each month on basic items than they did one year ago, and a shocking $1,037 more per month than they did three years ago, according to Moody's Analytics. That was in 2021, before inflation shot up to 9.1% in 2022.
E.J. Antoni, research fellow in The Heritage Foundation's Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, told CBN News the Biden administration is to blame for high inflation.

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. Best thing the common person can do now is live frugal as possible.
Get super smart with your groceries and also be wary about your gas money. Stop eating out at these overpriced fast food and chain restaurants. Start buying very basic essentials like eggs, frozen vegetables and fruit. Buy meat only when it is on sale. Stop buying anything processed, it is expensive and is bad for you. Start learning how to bake your own bread. Make your food stretch. Make sure you always get your phone out to limit your time sitting in traffic and getting the best route to save time and gas. Cancel subscriptions and just pirate online to save money on media. Put up with ads on youtube or spotify if you have to.

The cost of everything has been going up for years and only increased drastically due to covid within the last few years. Corporations would almost always keep a price high if a product was still selling. Now that Americans have gotten "used" to paying higher prices, the corporations will not lower them unless there are consequences.
The root cause to corporations not having consequences goes back to when lobbying became legal. It is worth millions to a corporation to ensure the politician they want gets in office. Lobbying should be illegal but that will never happen. In my opinion, American politicians are not for America. They are for themselves and keeping themselves in office. They will do whatever is necessary to ensure they keep their position.
As an American citizen, there pretty much is nothing we can do. Sure, we can go out and vote but we are nothing but a tiny tiny tiny drop of water in a big ocean.
