    Absolutely phenomenal mate, first road marathon you’ve properly trained for and you went sub 3 😱 insane, my first one was much slower! Loads of positives to take away from the experience and the best thing is you’re hungry for more 👊

    You may not have reached your A goal, but your race captured the essence of the marathon, and you ran it phenomenally. I suspect you’ll be more proud of this effort than when you do break 2:45. I’m even more impressed with you than I was before! Keep on inspiring, Marc!

    Hell of an effort Marc. Not the result you wanted but your attitude and mindset when you wanted to throw in the towel really shone through and got to a phenomenal time.
    No doubts you've got a 2:45, or even quicker in you.

    Great effort! Marathons are a tricky business...glad you kept on grinding! You have inspired me to push hard for my 5k time trial this coming Saturday. After so many weeks of documenting my training on my channel, I'm getting nervous! Thank you for this series!

    Well done my friend, the journey is more important, you did a great training, and actually is a great result for a first marathon. I saw you in the Finnish line you look to have still a big room for improvement! So, one step for the 2:45 marathon is done, let’s continue now and you will see the results, I’m sure of it!

    Awesome performance Marc! Congratulations. To keep going and still managing to stay under 3 hours is very very hard. You'll only grow from adversities. Also, having to do loops, when you're ready to drop out, wow! Massive kudo's.

    Crashing to a sub3 marathin is not too shabby of a marathon debut! And it's interesting the mental aspect of marathon running. It was interesting you verbalizing that mental aspect of marathoning, what most runners must feel mid race when things don't go quite as planned - and developing that new goal to finish the race feeling satisfied.

    Was great to follow this journey to your marathon goal but the marathon is a race what you have to experience in lots of efforts....it's a damn tough distance and hope to speak /run one time soon to talk what i think you have to train more and than i think 2:40/2:45 is for sure what you can reach..
    Recover well and get strong again 👍👍👍

    Nice job! This reminds me of Alex Vero (Running to the Limits documentary) where his goal was to to break 2.45, but he suffered in the last 3kms and ended up running a 2.58 instead lol.
    Respect for the sub 3 hours and for running the Marathon in those Adizero Pro shoes. I have a pair of them as well but would not run further than a half marathon to be honest. I feel that I need more cushioning so the Nike Vaporfly/Alphafly Next % shoes would be my choice personally. :)

    Great race day recap! I guess chasing 2:45 will continue 👍 and great to see race actually happened in full form ☺️
    I can't know about my 3.59:59 attempt as they're recommending residents to not travel outside of Vaasa, thought I'm only working there and driving back to countryside 5days a week.

    You vomited AND did a sub 3 marathon! That’s impressive and commendable! I think fueling is tricky and something I’m still figuring out - unlike most other strategies it is quite unique to the individual, temperature and effort

      Yes you are right Aaron, there are so many variabilities. I guess that is the whole fun of things, trying and learning more, trying to fiigure the puzzle out, and one day it will slide into place :)

      Yes we were very lucky it was still on, lucky it was a relatively small event and they did a very good job at keeping it safe.

    Do you use a Stryd pod? I think I saw one once? If so what was your calculated CP and what % did you go for?

      Hey, yes I was using a Stryd pod, CP is as calculated 307w... however with race predictor it was not a good calculation, as a friend also has 2 and they reported various values.

      @@runningwithmarc Yeah the race predictor I don't know. But I learned the hard way to not try to run over 91% for the marathon :) I went ka-boom after 8km ;)
      What wattage was the pace you were running the first 10k?

      @@bikeinmotion It was funny because the race predictor actually had it correct that I should do 277w :D although it didn't account for them other challenges I had. It was around 290w for the first lap.

      @@runningwithmarc Yeah 90% of CP seems to be a safe number ;) I was shooting for 93 too and then with wind gusts it went up to 95% peaks and hit the wall pretty hard :)
