“There are certain colors … when you combine them, they vibrate.” 👏
Today I made my first gelli print Because of you, thank you for being here.
Hope you had fun !
Another thing we have in common...never too many pairs of scissors!
I like the new shapes you are using for stencils and the bold color combinations
Thank you , it is exciting to watch the layers as they add new dimensions.
Great work. Each print is similar but has it's own character.
Yes! SO similar - yet SO different.
LOVE the second sister; as you say, it has that mid-century look: it is classic, and subtle colors create those feel-good vibes. Learning so much watching you, thank you!
Re: cleaning a rubber brayer... best solution I found (on internet) is after you have a few layers of build-up (or many!), you can take an exacto blade and carefully make a slice the long way on the brayer. Then just peel off all the paint! I've used the peelings for various things too (comes off in one complete peel usually). May not be for everyone, but it's worked great for me. Hope this is helpful. Much quicker than soaking in anything. 🙂
Incredibly inspiring! I particularly like the print on the right. I could live with that on my studio wall, it's beautiful.
It's available on artwhisperer88.com, free shipping in the US!
Murphy’s Soap will do the trick Fulton - just soak overnight and the acrylic softens up and is pretty easily removed. It is kind of meditative pulling all that acrylic off by hand, but it does also lead to frustration at some point (we all have that breaking point). Love your new stencils!!!
Would you use the Murphys soap full strength or diluted?
@@suekelly9150 About 50% Murphy’s to water - just eyeball it. Just cover the brayer’s rollers in a small container and leave overnight. You can do several at a time.
BRAVO 👏 👏 👏 👏
Really glad to see new cutout shapes! I especially liked the hole punch dots that were on the dividers. Could add even more, different sizes!
really like the new shapes and the ring binder holes! The yellow ochre really brought out the violet in the broad tip sharpie!
4 layers fantastique ! ❤
Thank you
Wunderbar!
I buy scissors all the time when they are on sale. That first pull was amazing. Both prints are engrossing. I enjoy watching you work so very much. I’m learning a great deal.
Thank you Fulton for your generous offering of time, wisdom, encouragement and art making. Now that you have 5,000+ subscribers I imagine the number of suggestions must be increasing too. Making art with audience participation sounds like a recipe for flattening my creative risk taking. How do you find/deal with having unsolicited input about your work? I value your unique expression.
Hi Yvonne, I appreciate the comments from viewers, some helpful some not so much. Here's a big secret, I'm going to keep doing what the hell I feel like doing anyway!
Loved the first pull… do you think different papers grab the plate or paint differently ⁉️
Definitely! You have to experiment.
I find those plastic dividers at thr Dollar Tree, some are light, and some are heavier. Hope this helps
You have helped me open a whole new door with my art. So I thank you today with a tip. I just had a very happy accident. I made my own plate (not worth it) and was eager to try. It was oily. Printed on something paper that had a pencil drawing on it. 😍 the pencil transferred to the plate!! So experimenting, just put some oil on the plate and (no paint necessary) press a drawing on the plate. It will stay there for several printings. In fact my ghost was stronger. I hope you can use this. Either way thanks. 😊
And it transfers in the original direction.
Thanks so much! May the creative force be with you!
That indigo with the gold and turquoise is a revelation. I need to find that color!
copper, I mean, not gold
@@BarbaraFordmusic Thank you for pointing that out. Went back & saw this interaction in both prints!
Maybe someone already wrote this, but have you tried cutting stencils from Tyvek envelopes? They are great to work with, end up as terrific collage pieces AND they’re free :-))
What type and brand of Gelli pad do you recommend for a beginner?

😊
I don't let mine soak but I do peel off the paint and it's so much easier because it's not soft. Also it comes off in usually one big piece which is usually pretty and I can use it in a collage.
