Good tip coach, coaching my sons Tball team for the first time this year and I always thought elbow up, but as I watch this, hands up looks a lot better. Thank you

Glad to be able to help, Coach. "Back elbow up" is one of the great myths of youth baseball.

Thanks coach! Made the same mistake with the elbow up. Good easy video was trying to find and learn.

😞😞😞One, you can't move home plate. Two, just go look at all the big league sluggers when they are about to swing the bat.
Elbow is way up there! Teach them early coach!! 😛😛😛

Ryan - you move the tee, not home plate. And there isn't a Major League hitting coach alive who teaches his players to put his back elbow up. "Back elbow up" is one of the great myths of youth baseball. Your elbow has nothing to do with hitting a baseball. Hands up...elbows relaxed.

@@PBIBaseballI'm sorry but you are wrong on this, and I can prove it on almost every player in college and Pro's!
I'm sure you have dvr, just watch slowly. Stop making up the myths, and stop making kids think that home plate can move! "DON'T TOUCH the TEE!!! Teach that the batter can move in the box, not the plate can move towards them! Also knuckles lined up, with elbow Up!😉

@@ryanearnest9611 We're going to have to agree to disagree. Our staff is comprised for former professional players, high school & college coaches, and scouts from the Reds and Rays. We have NEVER heard a college or professional coach tell a kid to put his back elbow up.

@@PBIBaseball By that age I'm sure you haven't! "They are already doing it naturally before their swing". I do agree with you on the fact that we love to teach these kids the love of baseball!! I'll tilt my cowboy hat to that coach.🤠🤠🤠

@@ryanearnest9611 Look at Ted Williams swinging a bat. His back elbow is not up. His hands are way above his hands. If you find a hitter that has a better swing, then use that one, and I guarantee you his hands will be above his elbow. The elbow being forced up puts the muscles in tension. Any reflex drill you learn a relaxed muscle is quicker than a tense muscle. Don't tense up your muscles by holding a high back elbow. Your milage may vary.
