    Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
    first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
    It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
    Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
    with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

    No matter what they say, having the turrets target hover bikes is ridiculous, I could
    Understand, maybe, if you were max height flying in, but if your low you get blasted. But can drive a tank right up to the front doors no problem

      Hover bikes are no longer targeted by bunker turrets, or even comm array turrets. I have tested this in 3.23. It's about time.

    My personal favorite was them mentioning money sinks. No matter what they are, having reasons to keep grinding will be a huge step. But im also excited about the Pulse. With its size making it basically fit into everything i will keep hoping for a utility variant that can carry at least one mission crate

      the Pulse does look cool. Not usually that enthusiastic about grav lev vehicles but I think the X1 is pretty cool and because of it's size and planned maneuverability i think the Pulse is even cooler.

    Not logging off means people teleporting in and out and also no risk to being away from your ship or away from a landing area. This is a huge mistake and also make beds pointless regardless of if it gives a buff or not.

      If you want your ship to stream out with you when you log off, you need to be inside, otherwise it will persist in-game making it a target. Your ship won't be there when you get back, not in one piece anyway.
      As for the teleporting issue, just give ships a "just arrived from quantum travel" effect when players load in so it doesn't break immersion for people outside the ship. For players on foot, do what GTA5 did with Trevor, just have your character stumble out of a random closet/hole in the ground, drunk and naked

    for the cargo and hangars, i'd like to see personal and persistant hangars be the biggest for everyone, until they have it dynamicly for everyone, because as of now, those, that bought biggest ships, will have a kind of pay to win advantage, being always safe, while the others must use public hangars, that don't save stuff

    Glint is beyond stupid, and if they keep it they need to give us scopes with anti glint covers/coatings for a higher price. same goes with if they make muzzle flashes visible from long distances, i hope that supressors remove muzzle flash .
    Sometime in the future we need thermal/night vision scopes and helmets with thermal/night vision

    My issue with sniper glint is it entirely removes stealth from snipers.
    I think this is another great chance for another “gear based enhancement”
    Simple: combat visor with “shot direction indicator” similar to the shot indicator in other fps games, shows general direction of incoming fire when hit.
    Advanced: shot triangulation module.
    Takes a gear slot (med gun, tractor beam, combat computer?)
    Shows exactly location of recently detected shots with a ping.
    Expert: automatic counter target acquisition. Helmet + computer + ?
    Detects the location of a recently fired shot and provides a target lock on the weapon operator providing real-time target location information for a period of time.

      This is what I suggested but more detailed when they first announced it. Terrible idea; punish some players, give no player choice.

      To make it entirely viable then there would need to be a situation where snipers can only one shot people in flight suits or light armor.
      Medium or heavy should provide enough protection for them to absorb at least 1 well placed sniper shot so they have a chance to use their counter measures.
      Maybe the advantage of a headshot for the sniper instead of pure damage could relate to counter play 🤷‍♂️ hitting the helmet makes the sensor less precise so you get a rough area instead of a ping. 🤷‍♂️

    Well the problem with non bed logging and popping back in. Is what about when we log because we got stuck. And you don’t want to hold backspace. Especially with “death of a spaceman” being a feature in the future.

      @@Jewifer333x2 there is no permadeath what are you talking about, it moves to next of kin etc, and they're working on making things more difficult and around disabling etc. Eve online is very punishing when it comes to your PC dying, but it does happen.

    The only thing that got me worried from this update was their statement about the MMO side of the game. A lot of people play solo and don’t want pvp so I really hope the game isn’t creeping towards needing friends who are just as dedicated to the game as you are which many of us wouldn’t exactly have especially as an adult with responsibilities

      But... it's an mmo.
      Also you should be able to experience a good amount solo, just going to be harder for you to do anything on the "grander" scale with larger ships.
      If you like solo, a prospector, hull b, vulture and small / medium fighter should be more than adequate and the game provides you opportunity to live in it at that "scale"
      This isn't a game where you HAVE to have an Idris or Javelin to be a part of the verse.
      If you truly want those experiences and the harder stuff, there is a power in teaming up to accomplish things and should be rewarded. Think of it like WoW > the devs don't prevent you from entering raids or dungeons solo but it is inadvisable. Going to pyro solo is doable, but there will be no one to rescue you if things go south and you insist on staying solo.

    I think I recall talk not too long ago that was something to the effect that bed logging was not going forward. I'm glad to hear that it is, however. Bed logging is more immersive than the alternative, and that is (one of) the express goal of SC.

    In terms of the “game like” mechanics like ammo pooling and backpack reloading I think that has an opportunity to be really cool.
    Would be interesting if ammo pooling was dependant on some pice of gear.
    So if you’re not expecting much fps, maybe you save some backpack room but have to pool ammo manually.
    Where as if you expect lots of fps then you can bring your ammo pooler 🤔
    I really like the idea of incorporating “enhancements” via gear. Like the fps reticle in some helmets.
    Gives me good immersion vibes 😋

    That sniper glint stuff is stupid. A snipers job is to be hidden and not seen. This is a futuristic game so I feel like a sniper would have a glass technology that would reduce glint.

      Just got mine a week ago i like that theres a keybind to turn on and off and also to use head and eye tracking at the same time or i can disable one of them and just use one, as far as the comment below me not everyone wants to use VR i prefer not wearing anything .

    Regarding the dusters not being aggro towards the player unless the player attacks first: You just know there will be one - or several - bugs where you do something wholly innocent - such as picking up a rock - and the dusters will all be instantly gunning for you.

    wouldn't the easiest way to balance snipers be to have sniper rifles project a visible red dot tracer whenever the scope is in use? that way targets will see that they are being targeted for a few seconds before the rifler potentially one-shots them?

    Even having arena commander be a test bed for new features even once the game goes live could still make sense 🤔
    The idea of arena commander (as far as I’m aware) is for it to be a simulation space where you can do combat and battle without major repercussions like actually dying or losing your ship.
    It would make sense that ship manufactures put new ships, modules, weapons and components out in the sim for pilots to try as a promotion for some real thing they are “bringing out.”🤔
    Give a bit of a test ground for pre-pu-implementation while maintaining believability. ☺️

    Night vision is an ABSOLUTE MUST. I've been begging for it for years. Additionally, parachutes or jump packs are highly needed for fighter ejection.

    There really needs to be an in-universe LFG system and functioning player to player contract Management system. I'm a loner with a lot of muticrew ships needing a crew. Just let me hire some Citizens on a per diem basis and have it handled in game.

      There will probably be underwater mechanics some time far in the future, probably after 1.0 launch. Maybe we will get underwater subcrafts which can be carried unto ships, swimming, diving, underwater equipment and creatures, mining and diving underwater. However, that stuff is certainly not a priority now, however, knowing cig, they are probably planning something like this.

      It will certainly come if they have ocean planets, I forgot that by the way.
      However, it is probably coming after a 1.0. I am jumping the gun here and saying 1.0 is around 2-3 years away if everything goes well with 4.0.
      Otherwise maybe longer, however immediete success of Star Citizen will depend on SQ42 which I am quite confident will succeed.
      In essence if they can get 4.0 and 1.0 with server meshing, all the other features should go much more smoothly and faster.
      Server meshing is the final mountain keeping the game from accelerating forward.
      Hopefully CIG can succeed and we can all move past the days of alpha suffering. @@prohydro2734

    Sniper glint is dumb when thinking about the grand scale of everything, whats the protection that a fps player has against ships and nukes. If you have a railgun you can defend yourself against smaller ships if they haven't found you yet. And nukes you need to be in a vehicle to even see one incoming.

    Im scared for solo play. I may be interpreting things wrong but things seem to be moving closer to group play to even operate some mid sized ships. Of course i know blades and ai/npc is going to be a thing but i hope its introduced at the same time engineering is. Granted i mostly do pvp(arena commander), mining and pve bounties but even with ai it feels like the solo player will be penalized for being solo. At that cargo seems like its going to be time consuming and even not worth it for riskier cargo on smaller mining facilities and drug huts unless the economy is drastically changed given the time to load vs pirating or griefing. I have hopes that things get introduced in a logical order but also hope the solo player can still be a thing or viable.

      If for you, in a "l o g i c a l" order SOLOing is chilling your day, having little risky mission for little but good reward (discovering an eggs in a ship :0) Oukay !
      But i you think SOLOing a cargo with 100 000 000 $ EZ PEZ and buy an IDRIS after 1 week of gaming....
      Synthetically you know it :
      1 - Star citizen is not Starfield or SQ42 🧂
      2 - PVE / PVP content is 50/50 - Actually SC is a fucking 100% PVE game LOL 🧂🧂🧂🧂
      3 - You will be penalized for SOLO only, it is logicall dude, like in each multiplayer game dude ! how much ? enough i think and i hope of course! 🧂

      Well i mean its a MMO... playing WoW solo was not even close to the same experience as playing in a guild. Same is gonna be with SC as it is.... a MMO game

      @TUROCK320 all good I'm down for discussion of course and hold no ill will towards anyone's opinion. I'm down for a grind for sure coming from other MMOs. If there's a soloable path I'm for sure open to it just hoping it doesn't become a limiting factor. Also have no issues with piracy, I've been guilty of it if the opportunity is presented but if the economy balance they come up with makes it worth it I'd understand the risk to do it. I've never been a fan of cargo/trading but that can hurt a live economy if there isn't enough benefit to take the risk of piracy. Of course also I feel anyone even now running drugs or rmc in the current patch doesn't have some kind of escort is taking a huge risk. I more hoping they add ai/blades whenever engineering is introduced since that would limit most things done solo but require a bigger ship if not. Like I said there might be some things I missed the information on but that's what I meant on a logical order of release.

      @tragiicgg I understand it's an mmo game but I rarely am able to find people that want to do the same thing as me or even at that play at the times I do. I've gotten lucky here and there with help in global chat with some things. I also feel comparing SC to other MMOs is disparaging. I'm not saying I don't understand why it would be beneficial to work with others but don't want solo play to be hard limited due to playing solo. If it's more of a grind I'm fine with it but if I can't progress unless I have a group feels like a missed opportunity.

    CIG please keep solo players in mind and dont make solo players second class citizens. Dont push or force pvp on pve players, please. I am looking forward to NPC Crewmates i can have long term and build my team up. Going to need NPCs AI once i go from Titan to Carrack. 3.23 looks very promising.

      going to your graphic settings outside of the game and make sure everything matches up if you have to reinstall all the drivers. And then verify the game. from there go to settings and do all that other good stuff if it still don't work submit a ticket.

      delete the USER folder so the game detects your hardware and builds a profile for it again. You'll have to rebind keys though. After that, select the correct resolution and aspect ratio for your monitor and adjust FOV as needed. Worked for me when I switched to my ultrawide

      I think rentals is Dev speak for any ship bought with in-game currency.
      otherwise I have all the ships I need I have no need to grind money for more ships to see how long it would take. But I still love doing salvage so despite them rebalancing salvage economy I still prefer salvaging in my vulture.

    Light enhancement is literally how current night vision works. Even modern NVGs don't "see" in total darkness. That's why we have IR flashlights, illuminators, lumination charts, etc.
    I don't CIG has actually touched real night vision

    Are they ever gonna make the in game flight a bit faster? Meaning not needing to sit and do nothing for many many minutes while you either QD or free flight on planets to reach your destination/mission location? Are they gonna make PVP optional? These are what i dislike the most atm.

    When 3.23 goes live, and better when 3.23+ drops, we are closser to NPC Crew and AI Blades, thedevs have said it wont be long, and its on the ROADMAP, so not long now, i really wnat to SOLO my Javelin, Perseus and Polaris, will also make using the Mole easier with my NPC Crew, cant wait for my BMM also, fully crewed and a real bitch in Pyro. Coming soon i am told by the community

    I think it is safe to say with solo play, CIG once said the 600I would be the largest ship someone could be able to fly on their own without help. I'm keeping my fleet down to medium ships mainly the Zeus and C1, I've grown tired of worrying about crewing large ships. Not so worried about solo play though, there will be a place for it.

      it can be justify yes with some balancing.
      Personnaly iam a pro cooperation players full multicrew.
      A ship with multi crew should have the top advantage in front of a solo boy (battlefield situation of course).

    Ilike the new logging system many times need to urgently quit the game and a bed is not close enough.
    Good that are recognising solo game play a bit more also as i like a group play but sometimes i just want to log on and play straight away and no time to organise a group.

    why would they worry to wipe rentals that last at most 30 days and nobody does rent for 30 days as it almost cost the buy price.
    For me rentals are all aUEC purchased items.

    see I'd be ok with muzzle flashes with unsuppressed sniper rifles... and also varying the distance of bullet drop depending on the planet/moon you are on... as not ALL planets/moons have the same gravity which also effects how far you'll be able to shoot before the bullet starts dropping...
    and if you are on a planet with a thick atmosphere too or arid, tropical or cold that could effect the bullet's behaviour so yet more ways they could effect behaviour and balance the bullets from being over powered... however a sniper while can be the most powerful tool on the field.... they are the most vulnerable too... that is the risk.... not only do they have to remain unseen, but they have to conduct their actions and not draw attention, take into consideration range, drop, gravity, surroundings etc... but also enemy locations and have an exit plan...
    you have to make sure that that first shot hits... but that you do not get seen or detected before leaving your firing location...
    you also have to ensure that any chance you take that shot you are not going to be hunted by a ship or vehicle....
    cos you can guarantee that the moment one of them go down, the rest are gonna be in cover or scrambling to get support ships and vehicles in to find you... if you get another kill on them at that point, that's on your targets who didn't pay attention... as such that's their fault... you just had an opportunity and took it.... however the "what follows next" being cos of that opportunity shot, could result in the sniper being killed....
    now for a team of more smarter people.... you would have a counter sniper team ready or have a scout ship/vehicle doing patrols just in case.... or simply position your vehicles or ships blocking your entry/exit points to where you're going....
    Bed Logging... I believe the idea of spot log outs is a good idea, and cuts a lot of messing about going through the whole process of trying to log out via your bed or a bed.... and the bed providing a buff for those who choose to log on a bed is something I feel will be a huge help....

    Can you find out why they are dragging their feet on launching the Tumbril Ranger series? It’s been talked about and poked at for the last 3 years and we still don’t see it available to buy. Unless I’m missing something?!

      They said somewhat recently (during the patch that brought update wheeled vehicle physics) that they don’t want to just take the 4 wheeled physics they have and apply that to a 2 wheeled vehicle, but rather take the time to actually develop the proper physics for the ranger. And that was just a time and available resource issue.

      Oh well at least they are addressing night vision. 60 % of on-planet missions are practically unplayable because they are at dawn/dusk/night. I don't see the point of all that amazing terrain if all you can see is a black screen.

      or at least have it as a toggle-able mechanic whereby those who want to go play that way can toggle it on, and those who don't, toggle off... but having it on means you get a 'risk/reward' bonus to cover the added risk... and that is character bound, so if you have 3 characters and you choose to active DoaSM it doesn't auto activate for any other character not bound to that original character.....
      example
      character 1-3
      1 being DoaSM enabled... once died and you run out of respawns.... and therefore have to continue the DNA lineage via another character that character who takes its place is still covered by the mechanic...
      however 2 and 3 who aren't enabled on doasm will continue to be used with it disabled until chosen to enable it... and mission rewards of a monetary amount will be minus the risk/reward bonus
      this I'd be ok with tbf

    SC needs to have two things before i ever play again. 1> You keep what you have grinded, no more patch wipes. 2> when 30k disconnects happen you keep what you have. otherwise i am not interested whatsoever anymore in this game.

      Also 30k is resolved in 3.23 with replication layer. As soon as you get in possession of an object, it's copied to an external server as a state - disconnecting from the world server doesn't change possession any more (at least no more than a seconds into the past or so).

    "As its very hard right now" XD Those people seriously want to be a criminal without ANY consequences. Right now criminals barely have any punishment. They can just log out in jail and get back when their sentence ended. And last patches they get a buff after a buff (including 3.23). Whining about it is even funnier then people leaving ramp open in mining stations.

      pretty sure they just speedrun right out of jail either by mining a couple of rocks or just walking straight out of the escape route as long as they have a pickup. The second they have even just one buddy the punishment becomes laughably easy to avoid. Or they just camp inside armistic zones all day long trying to jump onto peoples ships or hiding from bounty hunters.
      I really hope pirates get their playground with pyro soon though and that they even make it worthwhile for non-pirates to go there either for mining or trading to have some risk/reward for both sides.

    Good way to counter snipers would be to have a specific combat helmet that can track bullet type and trajectories to easily find the sniper/whoever shooting at you. It should be a light/medium helmet so a couple shots will drop you if you dont find the shooter in time.

      Agree, counter sniper tech should be a thing together with personal shields.
      On the other hand better tactics go a long way. I see so many people landing on top of an objective, alone and clueless. In any other (MILSIM) MMO they would be much more careful and take their time.
      I think better ground tools would go a long way. Simple things like a compass, terrain map and custom way point markers. This will encourage players to stand off and patrol to an objective, which is the right way to do it.

      if you make it so that you need to track a bullet trajectory of a gun that can onehit you, thats not a solution since you'd be dead before you can trace it back. I'd rather have sniper glint tweaked down a bit but still present (during the day) which snipers can atleast have some control over to not get spotted, than the magic personal scanning that lets you see every player around you that they want to introduce.

    I actually don't like the idea of a homebuilt Idris. I feel like there should be specific models of homebuilt ships that players can build themselves, rather than just make 1-1 copies of professionally built ships.
