Argento is fucking amazing, if you dig him, you should definitely watch his debut, The Bird with The Crystal Plummage. Music by Ernio Morricone, shot by Vittorio Storraro - in short, a young work of several future Italian masters of cinema, and I feel like Argento really perfected the giallo formula with his first outing. Evil Dead is a bad movie and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Seeing the emerging talent behind the schlock just makes it better on every watch for me. In October, I watched:

Videodrome (10/10)
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (10/10)
Nosferatu the Vampyre (8/10)

House of 1000 Corpses (8/10)
Deep Red (8/10)

Beyond the Black Rainbow (10/10)
Hour of the Wolf (7/10)
Saw (7/10)
The Conjuring (4/10)
Inferno (1980) (9/10)
Ayyeeee how did u like raw and tetsuo, and what’s ur Letterboxd👀👀????
I was gonna watch Kwaidan but then learned there’s no subtitles... i really want to watch that movie because of Masaki Kobayashi.
@@36AnimeLover42 It has subtitles on the Criterion Channel
Deep Red is an amazing Dario Argento movies with a killer soundtrack. Totally recommend it.
One of my fav vids of yours ever. Awesome stuff man
I agree with ur inferno take so much, he really perfects his lighting techniques way better than suspiria, it makes every shot look so fantastical and other worldly. It’s a small difference, but I think makes for a much better viewing experience. I think I like suspirias ending better tho.
You got a lot of nerve saying you like Slumber Party Massacre more than The Evil Dead or Re-Animator, and I am all for it.
wait a minute he’s ranking them now?!?😳😳
I already thought Laura Palmer was such an amazing character just by watching season 1 and 2 of Twin Peaks. I mean, she's not even in the show in a physical way, so I was immensely fascinated by that.
And then came Fire Walk With Me, and now she's pretty much one of my favorite characters of all time
Thanks for these vids man. I always look forward to this.

Love to see Black Christmas (1974) getting this level of love!!
he watched movies
Argento is fucking amazing, if you dig him, you should definitely watch his debut, The Bird with The Crystal Plummage. Music by Ernio Morricone, shot by Vittorio Storraro - in short, a young work of several future Italian masters of cinema, and I feel like Argento really perfected the giallo formula with his first outing. Phenomena is also pretty ethereal, also featuring young Jennifer Connely! The acting and dialogue get atrocious, but his visuals and atmosphere never let down.

I thought you'd like the camerawork at least with The Evil Dead, but I agree with the rest of your opinions.
Evil Dead 2, Trick R Treat, Scream, Black Christmas, Tales from the Hood - are all classics.
I gave Audition the same score but wonder if I'll like it more on rewatch.
The ending is great, so is the casting scene, but nothing's creeped me out more than the body moving in the trash bag
(outside of maybe the head popping out of the field scene in Memories of Murder).

I just watched The Silence of the Lambs for the first time. Fantastic movie.
Have you seen the sequel and the prequel?
Buddy, Evil Dead 2 was one of my favorite films of all time, and still is. But the reasons that i love it were completely overtaken by a little film known as Dead Alive (originally titled Brain Dead) involving a little known new zealand director known as Peter Jackson. Find a way to watch it. It makes Evil Dead 2 look like an episode of Barney.
Climax was my favorite horror movie I watched in October
if you think Evil Dead II was the craziest....you have no idea until you see Society
Evil Dead is a bad movie and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Seeing the emerging talent behind the schlock just makes it better on every watch for me. I guess I love it because of the endearing quality of its existence. Especially listening to the amazing Bruce Campbell commentary that can only be found on the dvd for mo good reason. It just makes me happy that all the people involved were so passionate behind what they were doing, and then later learned to be good at what they were trying to do.
Obviously it’s understandable that Karsten didn’t love it, but I think it’s still an important watch none the less.
