True. That's why it takes them 1-2hr hours to get to work. It's also because only us natives know not to take the highway. Grady curve and the junctions are crazy.

For reference, I saw handwritten signs on the side of some back roads with directions on how the residents expected you to drive through their neighborhood. WILD!
Ohhhh! Good ones Janine! Thank you for sharing!!! The utilities one is a 💎! Good point about the bugs. I guess I was just used to it coming from Florida. Moving here actually felt like a bug downgrade 😂.
@@SOLDbyNat I want to college in Florida, so by the time I moved to Georgia, I was happy not to see another gigantic spider or one of those flying palmetto (roach-looking) bugs ever again!
Hi ! I was reading your comment and I’m not afraid of lizards or bugs but I’m very afraid of frogs please tell me if there’s frogs there ? So that way I know not to move there .thanks in advance
I’ve lived in Georgia for 40 years and I agree with you on all fronts. I’m black and live in Forsyth County. No more needs to be said about that. Anyhow, I tell people this is a red state and you aren’t getting any help from this state. If you need government assistance, don’t move here.
“ It’s still the south” Girl I concur. I move here in 94 since being here it and sometimes it’s truly a stressful situation. I managed to make it work. I have 2 adult kids now , and 1 new grandson. Everything you said you were right. I’m a little 30 miles west of Atlanta . I don’t drive like I want traffic is terrible. All I can say come here prepared. Have housing and transfer from a job to here. I came down unprepared about everything. So I struggle just to take care myself and my kids. I hope whoever moves here do your research FIRST.
I've lived in Atlanta since 92 and I still love it, traffic and all. All the "Don't move to Atlanta" people are the people who came here from other state's or AFTER hurricane Katrina and other's who moved here just to be rapper's, actor's, "have a good time" and other's who haven't been here long. Atlanta is still to me the absolute best place to live period!
Thank you! Bout time somebody else got on these Atlanta bashers! I done live in a whole lot of cities and I have two favorites . . . Atlanta and Savannah, GA
I moved here for college and stayed. Do I love the traffic? Absolutely not!😂, but this is my second home for sure! The weather is definitely better than the Texas heat, there are seasons here. In Texas the season is HOT. Do my allergies act up in Atlanta, yes… but I like the cold weather here.
@@KFontLab Exactly that's why we moved here cause my sister went to spellman college which my mother worked up there for year's. We lived in west area and though not the best it was a tight knit community, I also lived in Buckhead, by perimeter mall, and now I live downtown near the dome, it's close to everything and it's always something to do, somewhere to go and yeah the traffic is a pain but I don't mind I live in New York for the summer so ATL ain't bad compared to that, and yes I use to live in Houston have a ton of family out there I live to visit but ATL is my home now people can say whatever but I love it here 💯
Yes. The care here is so diff for people with Down’s syndrome and autism. My son had both. Getting services took forever! And then Covid hit. Sadly he passed last year 😢. Yes families should really consider the level of services and health care they will get for their special needs kids and adults
My daughter in law noticed that too. All four on the Autism spectrum, and the services in Georgia are not the same as in NJ (where I live). I am very sorry for your loss.
Literally everything you said was spot on!! I moved here from NJ in 2007. Definitely a culture shock. I had challenges finding work because there is soooo much competition. The social services are seriously lacking. Housing costs have gone up exponentially and traffic requires therapy. That said I have no regrets. The possibilities are endless so much to do and see lots of opportunities and if you have support you can do very well here.
I heard all of your wonderful content, but for me what resonated the most was “it’s still the south”, which is why I never considered leaving the Chicago area. ChiTown has its issues - yes, but I know where and where I feel more or less comfortable. Moving to the south FOR ME has a stigma that I’m not comfortable with. It’s still the south. I ain’t asking for nobody’s opinion here. Ain’t asking and don’t care if someone disagrees. So far we still have freedom of speech. The election hasn’t happened yet. I’m using my freedom.
So I. Gonna say it if no one else will…when ppl say it’s still the south…coming from a person of color…I take it racial tensions/ descriminations are very active
Its complicated. But I won't be putting my Democratic stickers on my car. Also, due to governor shotgun aiming for another political office, he signed a bill into law that affects our voting rights.
Born and raised in Georgia (Metro-Atlanta area) and the number 7 is very true. I love my state but that is an area where improvements have been made but work is still needed. Yes, we are full, y'all! Traffic is a beast to go anywhere.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn New York City. I now living in southern Georgia. Living in a small town in south Georgia is a lot better than living in Brooklyn, New York City
Loved this. Your #10 is a reason why my husband and I are considering leaving GA! It's still the South. Born and raised in The South and time for a change.
I live in Loganville too. Hi neighbor!!.... Everything she has said is true.... I work in Alpharetta and you wouldn't believe the difference TIMING makes for your commute.... 15 mins can mean the difference between a straight 1.15 mins commute and sitting in traffic for 2+hours..... I, like your husband, learned to embrace the commute time as my down time. It's my chance to catch-up on the news, audiobooks and my podcasts. I do so during my commute because by the time I get home, I just want to unpack and go to bed.
That was a beautiful video! My brother lives in McDonough, GA He has been there since 1996. He loves it! I live in Philadelphia, PA I have visited many times, and as you said " this is the south". You are so right, it is still the south!
She is right! I lived in Atlanta for 10 years and I used to live off GA-400 and it can take 30 minutes to get from 1 exit to another exit during peak ours such as from 7am -9am and 12p - 1pm and from 5pm-6pm
My biggest surprise was the Ad Valorem Tax. I had a fairly new car before my move down and found out I had to pay Georgia $2k and half of it due within 30 days of moving down or something like that.
Hello, honestly, I don’t even know how I got to your channel but I’m so happy I did. I moved here and 94 and still live in Georgia. I too have learned so much being here. People think all of Georgia is Atlanta and it is not. I’m originally from up north as we say I absolutely love it here the change in seasons is still something that amazes me. The seasons blend together they’re not definite. My blood has definitely thin since being here and my family laughs at me. That’s fine. I was unable to ever purchase a home up north but after moving here, I was able to enjoy homeownership, which was such a blessing. people don’t understand the city of Atlanta is expensive as you pointed out. But all in all I would not move back north. I visit family but I always enjoy coming back home which is here. Thank you so much for this video. I so enjoyed it. and yes, I did subscribe to your channel. and before I forget, I am a black woman, and I have been reminded of that since I’ve been here. Because of history, it was one of the main reasons I said, I would never move to the south but life had a different path for me. I am reminded from time to time that I am a black woman in the south. but luckily, those experiences are few.
Hi Sheryl, Thanks for watching and commenting! Thanks for sharing your experience and subscribing to my channel! I’m glad you chose to make GA your home! The bugs are something here! 😂
If you are in a home, you gotta have a pest control service. Patio fans keep bugs away like mosquitoes and flies and other light bugs. Bug repellent spray and bug bands and whatever you can do. Extremely black outside at night. People are very courteous, drivers too. I moved here in 2020 from los angeles California and wish l would've move here long time ago. I love Georgia, 20 minutes from Atlanta and airport. No smog. Retired and tank of gas last a month. Atlanta is too crowded and traffic going towards Atlanta is ridiculous. Much cheaper to live here. Not inundated with migrants. I just feel more comfortable living around people that look like me.
Moved here from San Diego. I agree it's refreshing. The other thing i like is being a black professional isn't an anomaly here like it is in Cali fornia.
I agree with you 100% I moved from Florida in 2006 to Georgia. I could not stand the traffic. I did not like the cold. It felt like I was still living in New Jersey. I could not believe Florida is so close to Georgia and such a big difference in the temperature, I was so glad to sell my house and move back to Florida in 2009. The big house in Georgia is really nice but I love the tropical climate in Florida.
Traffic in Atlanta is horrible. I live there for 5 years. On a regular weekday it would take me an hour and a half to go 12 miles to go to work. But on a Saturday I literally get to work in 20 minutes. There's traffic on the street, there's traffic getting on the freeway, there's traffic on the freeway, and there's traffic getting off the freeway. And guess what there's traffic when you get off the freeway. I really like living in Atlanta but the traffic is one of the things I do not miss.
I wish I had seen a video like this 3 years ago. Everything you said is so true, now that I live here. You could have added the education system is way different and the medical isn’t the best.

Chile, don't talk about the medical! I have fired 2 obgyns, 2 doctors, and sadly a greedy doc at a health spa (where I was getting my menopause hirmone cream) fired me, because I wasn't coming in often enough. Thank God, I finally found a great young NP that takes great care of me.
I moved to GA for a position with the State. I came from Michigan, and I first lived in Augusta, then transferred to Macon. My cousin found an apartment which wasn’t too from the State office in Augusta. Yes, when I got my license, one of the clerks told me that Georgia was “full,” and I remember at that time a lot of folks from Michigan were relocating to GA. I spent three years living in GA, and I can relate to every point made. Got to see the Atlantic Ocean, and visited a lot of different places, and really had a great experience there. ✨✨
Hunty I was fed up with Ga so I thought been gone 2 years and now on my way back home I’m good I thought all the stuff you named was a issue but I know now the grass isn’t greener on the other side 😂😂😂😂😂 lawd we coming home 🔜
Thank you for your openly honest and refreshingly transparent video. I enjoyed it. I moved to Gwinett xty in 2006, returned to NY in 2011 after the market crash (lost my job, car then house). -looking forward to moving back to Ga soon.
Hi, Thanks for watching! You’re very welcome! We would love to have you back here in GA. I would be happy to assist you on your move back here. Contact at the below when you’re ready to come back home!😊 www.calendly.com/Soldbynat
Great video sis!! I wish I saw your video 17 years ago. Hit on many important points, especially your take on special needs/ mental health resources . There is a Forbes article that states that GA is ranked next to LAST when it comes to mental health care!
It's the bugs for me! We moved to Georgia in 2019 and after encountering the bugs I was ready to flee back to Chicago and endure the terrible winters instead! I immediately hired an exterminating company to service my home quarterly, indoors and around the perimeter! The wood roaches and flying palmetto bugs that look like giant water bugs freak me out! I am still reluctant to go outdoors at night, that's when they come out in droves.
I took a vacation to Atlanta. I had a great time. I got up early in the morning to drive bs k to Ohio and the hotel concierge told me to go back to my room and what for rush hour to end because otherwise, I’d just be sitting in traffic. I went back to my room. This was around 2016. I haven’t been back to vacation in Atlanta and that highway in Atlanta is extremely scary and confusing. 2:22
Girl, the bugs! I love to garden but as I was cleaning up my raised beds in preparation for the coming storm, I saw a giant grasshopper! I had just sprayed the yard with Cutter last night *but not near my raised beds, because I grow food in them) I screamed, scared my dog and went in the house for my bottle of fiid safe neem mixture ('cause I'm the Neem Queen). Anyway, I wont mention those flying bugs that start wuth an R, because when you soeak of them devils, they will appear. Im just buding my time till my husband retures so we can be snowbirds(spring and summer in NY or maybe NH because of no state tax) and winter in FL.
This is a very good video of Atlanta. You are right living within the city and the outskirts can be very different. Your demonstrations are good. Just know like I mentioned if you live on the outskirt of the City, be prepared to see deer, possibility of seeing a fox, coyotes, raccoon, possums, snakes, large water bugs especially if you have pine trees, be careful if you are allergic to posion ivy, posion oak, the people can be friendly, but please use discernment. The city has changed since I moved here. But I still love Atlanta. I find this city easy to get around. I personally think it's a city that is good to have your own transportation too. You can take backstreets to get to alot of places instead of getting trapped in the traffic especially if you live close to downtown.
I'm from the NY, NJ area and I currently live in metro Atlanta. The traffic is a nightmare. Its worst than NY, NJ, Philadelphia and Los Angeles combined.
Great presentation. I’m not looking to move to GA but it’s interesting to note that GA is still high on the list of states to relocate. It’s been like this since the 90s.
You have to learn the “old street “ routes to avoid some traffic 😂. As for the weather😂😂😂😂😂; I came here from NYC 53 yrs ago and have adjusted to Georgia’s 3/4 season days🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Yes, “we full”!
This is solid information. I have a special needs child and the medical care that my child gets is far better than where we came from. We have nothing but good things to say about CHOA at least in Gwinnett 🤷🏾♂️. We love Gwinnett
I lived in Douglasville for some years and now Jonesboro. All my experiences has been pretty good. I did have some issues when my car was down but even now being in Jonesboro, I can even catch buses to the mall here, movies, grocery stores and everything is within 1-4 miles. Most stores are mile from me. But I agree with her to each its own… everyone is different some people don’t care about certain things like driving distance for example. I am from CT so cold weather I’m use to but I never liked it. I’m with you on the weather too! Good video and great input. Blessings
😊 very good informative tastefully done video. It's something how people move from areas in the north that are really undesirable come to Georgia negatively about it. But you don't see them rushing back to where they came from. It's nice I like it. There are also lots of opportunities.
I'm from Florida, born & raised, my husband is from Georgia. We retired to Tennessee. Tennesse wins the prize for bugs both in variety and quantity...hands down. Great video.
The bugs are out of control this year!! Been here since 2018 from NYC and NEVER had this indoor mosquito problem. The sad part is that the Pest Control Agents DO NOT spray for mosquitoes INDOORS! I’ve tried everything that’s safe for indoors. I’m overwhelmed right now !!😩
Great video. You hit on all the points one should consider with great accuracy. It is the south, and your adjustment will be seamless if you come knowing that things are done differently. If you find yourself constantly saying, "They do it like this in New York or Boston or wherever you're from," you are not going to make it Georgia. Prepare to adapt and embrace a different lifestyle.
Thank you so much for the heads up! I was actually thinking about moving to Georgia. I left my original country because of traffic congestion so I'll definitely skip there, thank you!
Im from Florida and moved to Georgia about 4 months ago but I’ve never experienced bugs aka flies mosquitoes and roaches like here in Georgia probably the one thing I hate about here ive been to a park in Smyrna and Marietta square at night and when I tell you there’s roaches everywhere like whyyy 😫 they walk beside you they fly it’s annoying not even south florida is this bad and I currently have about 10 plus mosquito bites and the flies literally wait for us to open the door to come in the house you cannot leave your doors open for even a second the traffic and bugs are the only things I don’t like about GA
I thought dating was going to be #1 😒 Coming from Ohio in 2002 I agree. I have so much to say but I would have to make my own video to cover it all.🤔 Great topic!
I love this video. You broke it down, Sis. I am from Brooklyn, but I live in Queens before coming south... right ✅️ it is certainly still SOUTH, and yes, I am reminded a lot. 😂😂 The racism is so real. Even amongst our own. I have been thinking about putting my home on the market and going back north. Here, since 2013

Yeah Atl we cruise from a teen. We clean our rides and ride almost every day outside of going to work. So traffic is full most busy points. But being from there u learn short cuts.
Love Georgia traffic Mosquitoes and all ! Used to drive from Tucker to Duluth ( Pleasant Hill Drive ) loved every minute ! Very informative video Thanks !
It takes 2 months for REAL Fall to kick in.....Then it takes 2 months for REAL Winter. But Summer is always on time. 🙄 And she takes her time leaving. 🌿
PROS - the weather, the people, the food, lots of activities ,those yummy trees everywhere. and the lifestyle.Prior to 1996 Atlanta was a dream. The Olympics is what has cause all the heavy traffic and other things to change.🍑
Born & raised in south Ga. on a farm. But we had cousins in Atlanta & I ❤ it. But we stopped visiting when I was 13. My mother said that ATL had changd. BUT You were spot on.🎉
i agree with you about the Atl. although you left off a few big points that ppl of all ages should know about before moving to Atl. you mentioned a long commute but thats without an accident or roadwork and 24-7 there are major traffic jams! many times for several Hours. The Crime is so awful that most ppl don't even go out to party anymore! Ppl have even been robbed inside Walmart stores! The hospitals are the worst that I've ever been. Too many lack experienced nurses, doctors, every job in the hospital. its sooo many horrible stories that this channel can't even hold just the ones i know of. Overall people aren't the types that you want to get to know. Trust. Beyond shady, jealous and selfish. And I have lived in a lot of cities. Want a business? well some get robbed twice a week. Women seeking a husband or boyfriend? Girl, run! Liars, con men, robbers + it is 2nd to NY for gay men and down lows. Jobs with hella low wages and salaries. Gets cold starting in Sept. Mosquitoes and horrible stink bugs everywhere. The clubs are shady and hella expensive. My last one I'll list is the schools for kids are scary as all of hell and most bad kids do even attend them because the city does not enforce them to go! they don't even bother telling their parents to make them go so you can imagine what they do all day and how they survive. - Keep the Peace. i know there may be worse cities to live in but I don't look for worse, I only look for better and best. life is too short.
I moved to the area 2 years ago & I love it here. I came from the D.C. area & my family is from Savannah originally. Great advice for anyone moving here. I love the We Full tee shirt. Also, you closed the video well cuz it’s still the south & you will be reminded. ❤GAgurl!
How she described the traffick is how i feel about Az. Az was nice and manageable 7 years ago, traffick was light, you could get to the next city in 20 mins on the streets. Now, a 20 min drive takes an hour or more.
@thunder7188 i loved it years ago. It's a good place for black folk just depends on your type of crowd you like to keep. There's ppl from all over in Az so you'll get your fair mix of lot different ppl
Hiiii! We’re moving from DFW. My husband is a retired Veteran and we’re tired of all the foolishness and want to relocate a diverse quiet community. Please give us a list of the best diverse cities to live in ages 60 and older. We’re also looking for the following: Cities with lots of trees (pond) 8-10 acres to build our home 🏠 Thank you 🙏🏽
Hey, Retired vet here as well. Be mindful of state taxes that you didn't have to worry about in TX. Tx is vet friendly whereas you may not get the same exclusions that you would get in a state that takes care of vets. I lived in a few sates, and states without state taxes are your best bet.
10/31/24...Nice video. I was notn/raised in Atlanta. I was in real estate 50 yrs. I retired/sold my home/moved with my rescue 🐶 to Central FL in 2013. Now ready to return "HOME"... GREAT INFO. THANKS....
I came from NOLA about 4 years ago ,hey it took a while to get used to the hills and woods every where but where ever you live just get used to it .I stayed in Arizona one summer and the sunshine was penetrating , you hardly saw any dark painted cars but light colors to reflect the sunshine .I have relatives that moved from NOLA to Atlanta after Katrina and loved the beautiful area they lived in and they thought the place didn't have any crime until they lived their a while, I don't think that there is a place on the planet that you would call Utopia.
6:59 the bugs are huge here... I'm from Baltimore MD and moved here in 2014. I have never saw a Mosquito soooooo big that it covers the corner of a walk lol. Nawwwww I wasn't ready some bugs I've never see b4
I wanted to move to the ATL sooo bad back in my 30's my friend moved there with her kids and I wanted to come with my child. I'm in my 50's now and Im so glad that I didn't. Her kids ended up in prison and drug dealers and I know my child would have been right with them. Plus after Katrina the crime there went crazy. So yeah I'm so glad it didn't work out for me to move there.
You this my first time watching you and liked the video about 10 things of moving to Georgia. I liked the last comment it is still the 'SOUTH'. Keep the the humor in the video it real good. And thank you for sharing.
Lol!! She's right on all points! Moved to ATL from Virginia Beach in 1995. It took the grace of God to keep from moving back, but I hung in there! .......and eventually God kept me!! That last statement: "It's still the South!" Yes, yes, yes!!! The only thing I will add is the pollen in Spring if you have a child with asthma, .......think twice!!
People who say they live in Atlanta really don't. They live in the Atlanta area. I moved to Atlanta in 1991 and it was totally different, sad to say. I live in the inner city where the homegrown people are and it is a totally different experience when you meet the people born and raised here. Because so many people have lived here from other places, it has changed the true personality of the city.
At timestamp 1:52 "...it is *ONLY* 2:46am....WHERE'S EVERYBODY GOING?!?" I've caught late flight to Atlanta that arrived at 1: 00am and ALL FIVE DAMN LANES are congested!!! *WHY???*
You cannot and do not speak for Black folk in the South. That plantation mindset won you your equal rights. #MLK #MalcomX #Joseph.E.Lowery #JohnLewis #RalphDavidAbernathy Shall I continue?
Someone has finally put my thoughts into perspective. Nope ATL not for me due to this. Even in the So called nice areas, mentally is the same. I have never seen so much black racism in my life. The bougie culture is detrimental to the cohesion we desperately all talk about. Thanks for the thought invoking post.
One of my biggest surprises was snakes . I saw one snake in Clayton County years ago that looked like it should have been in the zoo. OMG. It took me at least a month to get over that I seen it out in the open. I also keep glue traps in my garage because they get in my garage, but they haven't been that size.
Please help me out…l don’t understand the reference “still the south”. I feel like I should know what it means before I move. Born and raised in California and planning to relocate to Ga.
Thanks for watching! "Still the south" refers to the history of the south. While the south has become more welcoming of change/transplants and the culture in the south is generally known for being friendly & welcoming, the "good ol boy" mentality is still present in some as it was successfully passed down through generations.
Well, I live in the tiny state of New Hampshire and commuted into Cambridge in the tiny state of Massachusetts. I could listen to NPR Morning Edition twice before arriving at work. On the way home it was NPR All Things Considered twice. They put in automated toll lanes that work briefly but quickly reverted to the smae quagmire as before.
Been here since 92’. (Excluding a stint in another Southern State)….You summed it up perfectly. Enjoyed the video. I wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else. I love Ga.
I moved to Georgia in 1982 and when my visitors came down they would ask me how long will it take to get somewhere. My answer then was 30 minutes and now I tell them to use their navigation , even if they know where they’re going to avoid the traffic. I still love Atlanta and the metro area. I also love Savannah, Brunswick and other places in Georgia. I love your video too
I lived in Decatur for 15 years. When it started taking an hour and a half to get from Decatur to the Brookwood split, I packed up and left the bugs, pollen and heat and came to Ohio. I was done. 😂 Edit: Speaking of bugs, there was literally a spider season where the huge spiders came out to eat the bugs. We had to put yellow bug lights out every Spring to keep the bug and spiders off of the house.
I have been here since 2015 Lawrencevile then Loganville. It's good schools and good housing, but you will pay for it. No 1,100$ 2015 it was a 1,300$ now 2,000 $ and up in Loganville etc.

What's the hate about wanting to be in the entertainment business.
Deepest sympathies for your loss.
@@ajbee4706 thank you
Thank you for watching. My condolences to you and your family.
So sad about your son. 🥰
Thank you for taking the time to watch😊!
Thank you for watching 😊
Ok...ok....✋🏽🤚🏽 😬🤭
And vice-versa. Your murder rate is not coming down. So I'll do you like you and never consider moving up north. To each his own.
Born and raised in Georgia (Metro-Atlanta area) and the number 7 is very true. I love my state but that is an area where improvements have been made but work is still needed. Yes, we are full, y'all! Traffic is a beast to go anywhere.
Thank you for watching!😊
I was born and raised in Brooklyn New York City. I now living in southern Georgia. Living in a small town in south Georgia is a lot better than living in Brooklyn, New York City
Thanks for watching!😊
@@SOLDbyNat You're welcome
Of course‼️😂😂😂😂
Hey I am from Brooklyn too! Been here for 5 years. Love it.
Same here....only I'm from Queens. I'm never going back.
Loved this. Your #10 is a reason why my husband and I are considering leaving GA! It's still the South. Born and raised in The South and time for a change.
Thanks for watching 😊!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😊!
That was a beautiful video! My brother lives in McDonough, GA He has been there since 1996. He loves it! I live in Philadelphia, PA I have visited many times, and as you said " this is the south". You are so right, it is still the south!
Thank you for watching 😊
SHOUT OUT TO McDONOUGH !!!
I ALSO, LOVE IT HERE IN McDONOUGH, GA.
I GREW UP IN ARKANSAS, WHICH IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SOUTH !!!
You hit the nail on the head, it's the South and it's still the South. I've lived and worked in Philly and Atlanta but Philly is way better.
She is right! I lived in Atlanta for 10 years and I used to live off GA-400 and it can take 30 minutes to get from 1 exit to another exit during peak ours such as from 7am -9am and 12p - 1pm and from 5pm-6pm
The traffic can definitely a challenge. Thanks for watching😊
My biggest surprise was the Ad Valorem Tax. I had a fairly new car before my move down and found out I had to pay Georgia $2k and half of it due within 30 days of moving down or something like that.
Hi Mark, Thanks for watching and commenting! Oh wow…that was steep!
Yes!!! I was like, whaaaat!? That’s crazy
I also want to add about the bugs. They do grow bigger here. That was a shock to me and is still a shock. Something I’ve never gotten used to.
Thak you for watching 😊
Any regrets moving from L.A.? What's the best area from your perspective
Moved here from San Diego. I agree it's refreshing. The other thing i like is being a black professional isn't an anomaly here like it is in Cali fornia.
Ga / Atlanta area will never be the same it was before the Olympics. I live there for most of my life and loved it .I am in Fla now
Thank you for watching😊!
Hi Beverly, Thanks for watching and commenting! I understand! ☺️
Hi, Thanks for watching and commenting! Agree…The traffic…whew!
I came to Atlanta for the first time 30 years ago for a weekend summer concert... I'm still here!
Must have been a great concert! Thanks for watching 😊

Hi, Thanks for watching and commenting! 😂 Yes, the bugs here are wild.
Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you for watching!😊
Thanks for watching 😊!
I've lived in Georgia (Jonesboro) since 2008. I love it here.
Hi Kendu, Thanks for watching and commenting! ☺️

CHOA is the bomb! Love them
I lived in Douglasville for some years and now Jonesboro.

😊 very good informative tastefully done video. It's something how people move from areas in the north that are really undesirable come to Georgia negatively about it. But you don't see them rushing back to where they came from. It's nice I like it. There are also lots of opportunities.

Adapting is key 🔑! Thanks for watching 😊!

Hi Wendy, Thanks for watching and commenting! I agree with you on the bugs and mosquitoes. Lol! The unwanted things of becoming a Georgian.
Someone said the roaches there got driver’s licenses. I came , I went. My pest control guy was my best friend until the sale to get the ****out!

i agree with you about the Atl. although you left off a few big points that ppl of all ages should know about before moving to Atl.
you mentioned a long commute but thats without an accident or roadwork and 24-7 there are major traffic jams! many times for several Hours.

Hey, Retired vet here as well. Be mindful of state taxes that you didn't have to worry about in TX. Tx is vet friendly whereas you may not get the same exclusions that you would get in a state that takes care of vets. I lived in a few sates, and states without state taxes are your best bet.

That 6:50. fly had on a damn HELMET. yep, he's a Georgia fly😂
😂😂 Thanks for watching!😊
Appreciate the review.
You are welcome! Thank you for watching😊!
This list is the truth! #10 was the culture shock for me. I realized I have been sheltered all my life. The south is very different from up north.
It is definitely different 😊. Thank you for watching!
I wouldn’t consider moving there anyway. I’m good right here in MD for now. #nybredtho ✊🏾

Great video. Moved here from Ohio, originally from NJ and yes...many realities of the south, the traffic...everything you said. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for watching😊!
Thanks for watching!😊
Been here since 92’. (Excluding a stint in another Southern State)….You summed it up perfectly. Enjoyed the video. I wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else. I love Ga.
Hi Hazel, Thanks for watching and commenting! 😂 Thanks so much! Me too!
Hi Hazel, Thanks for watching and commenting! 😂 Thanks so much! Me too!
I love your video too
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching ☺️
Scince when did Georgia have seasons?
Depending on the time of the year, you could go through all 4 seasons in a single day! Thanks for watching ☺️
@SOLDbyNat I have a cousin that used to live in Cobb County.
He said winter came and went 1 year and he never knew it.
I lived in Decatur for 15 years. When it started taking an hour and a half to get from Decatur to the Brookwood split, I packed up and left the bugs, pollen and heat and came to Ohio. I was done. 😂
Edit: Speaking of bugs, there was literally a spider season where the huge spiders came out to eat the bugs. We had to put yellow bug lights out every Spring to keep the bug and spiders off of the house.
Oh wow! Thank you for watching!☺️
Beautiful season change
Thanks for watching!😊
