@@rowlandkrause5930I agree. The heat is two steps away from living in hell. I'm in South Florida. This summer was absolutely unbearable. It's far from the paradise that everybody who doesn't live here thinks that it is.
Florida is a humid swamp, the only reason people were able to tell themselves it was a great place to live was because it was cheap. Now we have NY traffic and NY housing costs along with the modified weather patterns. It's not worth moving here anymore
Funny, I’ve lived here all my life, my home is paid for and I live in a rural part of Florida that has no commercialization no people, Northeast Florida is the best. There are a lot of rural counties that time have forgot and we’d like it that way. Florida is amazing, and I’m so thankful to live here and I will never leave this state but I sure wish all of you transplants would
fear a housing crash due to people buying homes above asking prices with little equity. If prices drop, affordability and potential foreclosures may arise, worsened by future layoffs and rising living costs. I want to invest more than $300k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk.
Consider reallocating from real estate to other reliable investments like stock, crypto or precious metals . Severe recessions offer market buying opportunities with caution, as volatility can yield short-term trading prospects. Not financial advice, but it may be wise to invest, as cash isn't ideal in this period.
I've remained in touch with a financial analyst since the start of my business. Amid today's dynamic market, the key difficulty is pinpointing the right time to buy or sell when dealing with trending stocks - a seemingly simple task but challenging in reality. Well, I’ve been in Florida for over 22 years and I love the heat but most that moved there realize they cannot take the heat. It’s just too much for them. Now the hurricanes, they have become bigger more frequent and destructive so the insurance is out of sight and after you rebuild a couple times you’re ready to move to safer zones.
Unless you move there in your 30's and develop tolerance, the heat + humidity May-Nov is unbearable. Old people new to FL are either just snowbirds, or they eventually leave.
Do you want heat? Move to Texas or Arizona. It is a dry heat. I left FL. in 2022 to TX. and went back to Orlando on business in 2023. When I got home, I unpacked my bag and handed my wife a pair of jeans. They were wet. She said, "why are your pants wet?" I said, "THAT IS WHAT WE USED TO LIVE IN!"
From $7K to $45K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I thinks it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.
The most important thing that everyone should think about now is how to invest in different sources of income that do not depend on the state.especially considering the current real estate cryptocurrency market, stocks,NFTs and forex are good area to explore thanks Mrs Sophia for coaching me

I moved out of Florida to Michigan I have a home on 8 acres of land.I don't miss the rude folks, the constant heat, bad traffic, low wages, hotbed political environment,HOA madness. I love the change of seasons up here in Michigan and no hurricane drama. It might get cold up here January -March but cold weather keeps the peace.
My sister did the same thing returned to Michigan after 18 years in Orlando , moved back. She just couldn’t take the state anymore and wanted to get away from DeSantis, the weather has just become unbearable. She said she loves four seasons and glad to be back in a saner state with lots of natural resources and fresh water lakes and reasonable cost of living.
We moved to Florida in 2019. Four years later and two different locations, moved back to Pittsburgh, PA. After living in Florida, I have grown to appreciate Pittsburgh more than ever. Florida is a very toxic place and we don't regret leaving at all. I can take Florida in small doses but that's about it. The heat didn't bother me near as much as the politics in Florida. IMHO...DeSantis has ruined the state and will continue to do so. Bye-bye Florida. It was nice knowing you but knowing you was the best reason to leave you.
My parents retired to Florida and based on their experience, I never will. Also remember that most healthcare in Florida is subpar. We would have my parents come up north for better medical care. I have been visiting Florida multiple times a year for 20 years but after Hurricane Ian, Ron DeSantis, increasing rudeness, more and more snakes and lizards, red tides, rising sea levels…I will stay north. And won’t even vacation in Florida.
The native Americans warned the settlers to NOT build permanent structures in Florida. There are hurricane cycles longer than a human lifespan, that periodically wipe out everything on the land.

No more crickets and the lawnmower is almost in hibernation for the year. I like my heat from a fireplace or a toaster. Not into wrestling gators either so I think I already have enough Florida for life.
The trick to being happy in Florida is to be at least 25 feet above sea level, paying cash for your home, and that home being able to withstand 200mph winds. That way you have little to no worries.
You described my situation perfectly. I'm 2 miles from the Gulf coast. 30 ft above sea level. One story all concrete home with big inground pool. Nice community. Been in this house 24 years and never had any major hurricane damage. House paid for. I'm luckier than most
I retired here 13 years ago from Boston. The first six years it was gorgeous, nice weather, actually cool winter days. LISTEN, the past 7 years the sun has become so strong, super oppressive humidity May to October, the weather is unbearable. I paid very low for my 4 bedroom 2 car garage home; price has quadrupled which is good for me. Thankfully I did not buy a Condo, that market is dying. My neighborhood never gets housefly’s or mosquitoes. For now I’ll stay here it’s cheap to live with no house payment. Thinking about being a snow-bird just living in Florida winter times. People are mean, hard to make friends, oh, the drivers are reckless. People run red lights ALL THE TIME cops don’t do anything.
Some people planning to buy a home in FL don’t realize that our homeowner insurance policies now all have a SEPARATE DEDUCTIBLE for “hurricane/wind damage” and it’s based on a percentage of the total value of your policy coverage!! For example, if the total value of your insurance coverage is $400,000, most insurers charge 2% of that as your “hurricane/wind” deductible, which would be $8,000 PER INCIDENT!! Those on the FL west coast that got hit by 2 separate hurricanes, would have to pay that $8,000 TWICE if filing claims for both hurricanes!!
I lived in Florida for 20 years… my best decision was to move out. I love to visit but I have a 3,000 sq foot home in Rhode Island for half the cost and 35% more income from my job.

The cash flow is much better in RI compared to FL now, especially since I don’t have to pay so much in insurance. I’m do of course migrate south for some of the winter.
Absolutely love FL and I'm happy to hear people are waking up to leaving. You need to do your own research before moving here as it's not for everyone. I moved here from the richest county in Northern Virginia (a rock throw from DC) and my only regret is that I didn't move to FL sooner. I hear you. Lived in Fl for 16 years and for many reasons we moved away last year. We love NYC with all the great and not so great things and feel at home there. We were going to move this November but for now we have to live in Europe. So hopefully next year. 🥰
I’ve been a Floridian for over 32 years & your description is accurate. But somehow, no matter what state I go to, I’m always happy to come back home to Florida. Now, I must admit, I’ve been through a lot of hurricanes and Thank God, I’ve never had any damage, so I can understand the people who decide to leave because of this and everything else that’s going on.
Buh-bye to the majority of the condo-owners who neglected to maintain their buildings over DECADES. The same ones whi elect HOA Board, yet cannot bebothered to attend HOA meetings or keep tabs on them. And who refused repeatedly to approve HOA-recommended maintenance fund increases! Karma is a bitch!😊

Also if you are young, the dating scene is so horrible! Cheating, hooking up, having situationships/sharing someone else's boyfriend/girlfriend is so normalized here and disgusting! Mostly Miami and Orlando areas.
Maybe consider the possibility of a connection between how far down the rabbit hole of social media most young people have fallen and their problems with dating and developing healthy and happy relationships.... they basically want drive-through instant sex and to find serious relationships on internet sites that are extremely dicey human warehouses. This is hardly just a Florida issue. Mental health is a major problem among the young in today's world bt no one wants to admit this has been the case ever since dating/hook-up apps have been in operation.
Well said. I'm tired of people moving here. California and New York people have made terrible decisions in elections that ruined their states so now they all want to come here and Texas to ruin us too. No thanks. I love my state and give me the hot muggy summer over 1 cold day any time. When you live here your entire life you just know it as normal and I LOVE seeing people visit and barley ne able to walk from their car into a store. I can't count how many times I've heard " it's so hot and humid here. How can you live in this weather" That's just Florida baby and I'll never leave.
This is an excellent review! There is WAY TOO MUCH going on to feel even remotely comfortable about going to FL. The Condo HOA fees I thought was the biggest problem, until the Hurricanes and insurance fees.
Thank you! All of those issues really ruin it for so many.

Florida is great for short visits, but to hell with living there. The no income tax state is more expensive than states with income taxes, because everything you pay for in Florida is extremely higher than most states. Hopefully you have huge savings and lots of disposable income, and everything you own is paid for. Mother nature is a bitch throughout the state and it gets worse every year. Good luck to future residents.
Many of you learned a hard lesson on affordability and weather this year. No issues. Paid cash for my condo after 2008 housing crash. Raised steel and concrete building with reinforced shutters, protected marina, and more than two miles from the gulf with canal waterway away from surges. I was surf fishing at sunrise the morning after Milton.

Spot on. I was born and raised in FL. I moved my family to the midwest last year and have not looked back. Instead of oppressive heat 10 months out of the year, we get to enjoy seasons. People in the midwest are incredibly friendly. There is a strong sense of community here which we never had in FL. Essentially the politics that plagues FL now was the last straw for us. It's ugly. My dad who was born in Cuba and spent most of his life in FL finally had enough and moved a few months ago. And let's be real, unless you are rich and retired, most Floridians lifestyles aren't palm trees and Pina coladas. It's sweating in traffic to get anywhere and driving hours away just to find greenery to escape the concrete. I don't miss it one bit.
I've lived in Florida and when it was 75° on Christmas Day I absolutely hated it. I miss the change of seasons. If you have the scrape your windshield in the morning that's cold for them. I don't like a lot of thunderstorms either.
It's surprising to see so many people leaving Florida, especially with its sunny appeal. Rising costs and weather concerns seem to be real game-changers for a lot of residents.
The insurance has turned into a complete racket. I'm selling my rental house and pocketing 300 k iniquity instead of sticking around and getting hammered buy insurance and property taxes
Insurance is the new racket! I retired with clearly a two home affordability but the insurance today? Nope. Reluctantly downsized to one home. And, still feeding that WALL STREET "insurance" racket - a shyster bank that'll make you pay for everybody's woes. (and the "service industry?". What are they paying these rubes? $30/hr+ bennies???)
No. The weather is the problem forcing insurance out. You are lucky if you can even get insurance in Florida. I don’t blame the insurance companies for pulling out because Florida alone can bankrupt a company. Florida has been warned over and over again about climate change and insurance yet they keep building where they shouldn’t be building. If you don’t like insurance, don’t get it and insure yourself. It is that simple.
@@chickengod9184 really? Please tell me where I am wrong. I currently live in southeast VA and my insurance premiums and coverage with USAA are fine. I have also lived in MD, DC and NYC and never had a problem with insurance. Simple logic tells me that if insurance companies can make money, they will insure you but for some reason all these legitimate insurance companies won’t insure in Florida. How is that a racket? If a company can’t make money, why should they be forced to insure? People choose to live in a state that they know is prone to huge catastrophic storms that will only get worse every year yet they expect good, reasonable insurance rates??? Insurance companies aren’t charities. If someone chooses to ignore all the warning signs and take the risk, you can’t blame I surabce companies.
To my own research In USA , individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.
Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

3rd generation snowbird Florida family. I actually lived in Florida for about 5 years in the past, but I think we all agree Florida is for escaping the cold in retirement only. In 50 years Pinellas County has become far too populated, it’s sad.
Havent heard of people leaving but have heard people are scared now of the hurricanes. Thankfully middle northern florida in the silver springs ocala area is the best place to live in my opinion.
I think so too but a LOT of people have learned our secret! I’m from Florida, and I can remember when Palm Beach County was building out without forethought of infrastructure for all the new development.
People have a right to their opinions. If they moved to Florida and it was a bad experience for them. Why should people get mad at them, for sharing their experiences with others, who were probably sold the same pipe dream, that living in Florida is like living in paradise?. It is like living in paradise, if you are very wealthy, and can endure all of the pitfalls. I have observed young people, who have never lived in a bad hood, listening to Rap Music that glorifies living the so-called hood life. But if they ever had to really live such a life, and were stuck in that lifestyle. I think they would understand that reality is much different than fantasy.
Yes I owned in North Miami Beach area a few decades ago and glad I left Florida. The prices are crazy expensive and the traffic is crazy during the snowbird season. Yes summers are crazy hot and humid but I didn't mind it that much.
Single family homes don't have HOA, but you have to take care of all repairs and maintenance, and in a hurricane they are much more vulnerable than apartment buildings and you have to again take care of all disasters. You don't win in the current Florida market. I was thinking of buying a waterfront property, but I have very much changed my mind. I am staying inland. One can always drive to the beach, but inland properties on a higher ground are much safer.

Where I live near the coast we can join the local “Yacht Club” for $500 and a plastic canoe. Then you can list yourself as a “Yacht Club” member in your obituary (an ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure). A snow day is just that - a snow DAY. Use the garden hose to clear the sidewalks and driveways (our water is warm enough to melt it). There are choices between Fla. and New England. Cheers! ✌️🕊🌐👍
Living in FL used to be low-cost and moderate-risk. Now it is high-cost and high-risk. The value proposition is simply not there anymore. There are other states that are more suitable for long-term residence.
You're right, association fees increased by $500 per month on one of our investment condos for an entire year in order to bring it up to code. This is definitely going to shake up the condo market.
Very fair and balanced commentary….real estate prices are still astronomical but there are cracks in the market with good reasons..NY and California prices ……insurance crisis going to have a profound impacts on the market -the thought of spending that much on a house and being uninsured is incomprehensible- if i wanted to roll the dice with my future i’d go to Vegas
Sinkholes are mostly in the middle of the state but you have a point. It gets less expensive in the more rural cities if you’re ok living close to nothing

I just left Florida. I was in the part that's considered tropical. South of Martin County. It was like a keep warm oven when I walked out the front door. Feels like 89 degrees even at 6:30 am, before sunrise. 111 degrees by 2pm. Meanwhile it's jacket weather in Tenn. Other than the weather, Florida has overpriced everything but no state income tax. My house in Fl is located on high ground, including all the surrounding areas. Utilities are a bit high. The AC needs to run 90% of the day. But the beach is an escape. Beautiful
According to weather forecast due to rise of temperatures the cost line will move in the land, causing a great deal of residential neighborhoods going underwater. So, while still being a good vacation destination, outside of hurricane season and summer, it is not a good long term investment.
When living in an area with a temperate climate that truly has Spring Summer Fall and Winter climates, you dress for the weather. When winter hits you bundle up. when summer hits, you shred all clothing and turn on the air conditioner and fans. The problem with the extreme summer temperatures these days is even with a decent air conditioner, you are going to sweat profusely. At least for me where I reside, I rarely went out during the summer because it was just to hot, humid and muggy. I live in a resort area in Canada where tourists flock to enjoy the wineries and lakes. This year was different though. While we did have a decent enough tourist season, I found most stayed sheltered in their campers or hotels/motels chalets, cabins BnBs etc. Most did not utilize the summer patio offerings of local restaurants cafes or clubs, preferring to stay within confines of an air conditioned business. The lakes were not packed this this year. Parking spots were unusually available. Personally I could not survive in a 365 days a year tropical climate. It was rough for me where I reside. Besides, there is always vacation time to enjoy hot spots the planet has to offer.
I’ve lived here for 41 years and I don’t find it that difficult. We have a higher number of hot and humid days than Boston or New York and it doesn’t get that much hotter because we have afternoon thunderstorms that move in and cool things off on a daily basis. Unless you live right on the water, the bugs are not a problem and in fact, the mosquitoes are worse up north. From the second week of October through the second week of June, it is paradise. The winters in the north are inhumane for anyone over 50 years old. Lastly, I am thankful for a no nonsense reasonable Governor who thinks with the people in mind and keeps us working and developing when absolute nonsense is happening in other places. I happen to love Florida and I know many others that feel the same way.
Well said. Rick. Florida is my paradise. I grew up in the Northeast and the winters were horrific and brutal. I'll take 4 months of heat and humidity anyday to 4 months of possibly freezing to death, snow and ice roads, dead car batteries.
I’m from Toronto Canada and like you said the winters are “inhumane”! The cold wind slaps you hard in the face. We sometimes cuss at the weather up here! That, and the cost of living is also high. If my costs are going to be high, I’d much rather be in a warm climate at least!
Most people comment here is about living by the coastal areas of Florida. Like me living inland of central Florida or the rest 90% of Floridans, we are having a normal happy life.
In South Florida, in a well-maintained, gated single-family (over 55 neighborhood which should be illegal) most of my neighbors moved from NYC, New Jersey, CT, Mass, Chicago or Rhode Island (within the last 20 years). Since they destroyed their above cities and states, they come down for tax savings, personal freedoms, and political freedom, which they all vote to change our Constitutional state to the totalitarian socialist machines they created and left for Florida. Since I've lived in Florida for 78 years and lived through nearly 40 hurricanes, I am happy to see them leave and hope they never return. What they don't realize is that the illegal migrants, higher taxes and huge crime increase has made the northeast a living hell. GOODBYE and GOOD RIDDANCE.

Yes, HOAs have gone up due to insurance hikes. Fortunately, our condo passed the 30 year check. We invested in a metallic roof about 8 years ago and still fine. We are pretty far inland and only 1 story. No balconies, no stairs, no pool or garages supporting our condos. The recent funding reserve since the Surfside condo collapse has raised our HOAs, which is crazy since we're not on the beach and only 1 story. Living in South Florida is more expensive too. The traffic is horrendous and car insurance goes up every year due to careless drivers. So, we pay the price. However, my home is paid off and I have a pretty good job that I like.
Having lived in FL for almost 40 years now, I'm so ready to leave now as well. Not because of the storms just because of the over-crowding, and to many Yankees around. Yankees pretty much overbuilt, ruined, everything and they are overall terrible people.

We moved to Florida in 2019. Four years later and two different locations, moved back to Pittsburgh, PA. After living in Florida, I have grown to appreciate Pittsburgh more than ever.

@HeribertoBaez-d9s The global billionaires have bought Florida big time. The locals pay the price. A great way to sell out the American.

I don't like a lot of thunderstorms either.
It's surprising to see so many people leaving Florida, especially with its sunny appeal. Rising costs and weather concerns seem to be real game-changers for a lot of residents.
What was your first clue?

Great points. That’s exactly everything that’s wrong with the state, mainly politics involved.
Fla. native (family dates back to 1850’s), I left in early 70’s. Next time I go back is to be planted in the original Fla. family cemetery 😂. Cheers! ✌️🕊🌐👍
Oh you're brilliant
We are out of here in a few years when my husband retires. Done with the heat, traffic, bugs, rude people, high costs.
Living in FL used to be low-cost and moderate-risk. Now it is high-cost and high-risk. The value proposition is simply not there anymore. There are other states that are more suitable for long-term residence.
actually its every country that its expensive
Other states like which ones mid west but yet crime is high asf o and also it's boring as well lol everywhere is expensive
You're right, association fees increased by $500 per month on one of our investment condos for an entire year in order to bring it up to code. This is definitely going to shake up the condo market.
It's a shame and I wish it wasn't true but here we are 😐
Built decent seawalls and concrete houses. Timber is the wrong material. Strong houses survive a hurricane, and seawalls protect you from flooding.
Rule #1 in FL no trailer or manufactured home. Cinder block stucco only!
@@mikezylstra7514 Oh how you can get stucco!
Groucho Marx.
better yet just have plenty of money
And the rest of the country should pay for the walls? Sounds like a future trump slogan.
The insurance situation is major and will probably become worse with Helene and Milton
Am I thinking of moving to Florida? The answer would be NO. Hurricanes, insurance, expensive homes and don’t forget SINKHOLES! Again, NO THANKS👎👎
Good idea, don't come here
Sinkholes are mostly in the middle of the state but you have a point. It gets less expensive in the more rural cities if you’re ok living close to nothing
The weather conditions I can understand. It's the insurance companies I don't get.
Overwhelming prices and when conditions arises the ship out or set stipulations.
Like flood zones. The whole state is subject to some type of flooding. When you have strong winds and rising sea water.
and i wanted to move to flordia because im sick of my state- uh idk
Thank you now bye ✌🏾
Thanks. Great video

Florida is the greatest state on Earth and if people that ain't even from here don't want to be here then leave. Don't let the palm tree hit you on the way out.
😂🤣🤥
I think so but there are a lot of people that unfortunately don’t agree or can’t afford to live here anymore
😂🎉
I'm a liberal floridian who moved to Colorado and I do not like Colorado at all. The energy out here drains me more than Florida. The fast paced culture in Florida makes me feel alive but I feel like everyone out here is all depressed and does not like to get out of their comfort zone. I'm moving back to Florida next year
How about you leave liberalism as well? It will make you feel a lot happier, guaranteed.
Heavy drug use in Colorado might be the cause.
Thank God, I’m ready for the transplants to leave. The traffic is nauseating.
It really is!

Florida is one of the most beautiful States we have. There is a way to deal with the occasional bad weather. It's Florida you should be prepared at all times what ruins Florida is the politics an Associated costs
Florida has become ...very popular...traffic..terrible...
Super popular. Traffic sucks! Especially in Miami and Orlando
Beautiful
Indeed, much like Vegas, it’s great for tourists but bad for locals
NO HOME INSURANCE AVAILABLE. SO PAY CASH AND TAKE YOUR CHANCES
I not ready to live in just get here 4 years ago,and I love it
I’ve lived here for 41 years and I don’t find it that difficult.
@@booleyLOD1 how did we destroy our cities, there great so is the great income we got from living in highly educated cities with UNIONS so we could go south and pay cash for our winter home, at least mine is a winter home would never live there full time don't like the politics to backwards for me
Wow. 😶🌫️, er, good luck?

I thought it was the Brooklyn Dodgers. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Now it’s the conservatives that are ruining Florida!!!!
