It seems like the more complicated car electronics become, the easier they are to pinch. Unfortunately this type of high end vehicle will always be a target for the next few years. Perhaps a good old fashioned hidden engine ignition isolator would help a bit as time is a major factor. Glad you got the car back even though it was partly trashed for parts.
It didn’t but then they didn’t take it very far to rip the tracker out then hide it. Lovely car but once I finally got it back after being repaired I sold it 😳
@@supercrazysane yep.... once I got it back it didn't feel quite right to be honest. But the main reason was that it was very expensive to run and I decided I wanted to try a PHEV vehicle. You can get Range Rover SPort PHEVs but they are more expensive than X5 PHEVs and have a much shorted range just using the battery. Also the tech in a BMW is much more advanced than Range Rover. So I'm very happy with the change - the X5 is much nicer to drive although obviously doesn't have the same offroad abilities
@@lozzom thank you for that, good to know. I don’t do a great deal of miles so fuel cost isn’t so much of an issue, the extended warranty seems quite pricey but I can accommodate that. Just bought a 16 Discovery Landmark with 20k miles, 1 owner, FLRSH and the entire thing looks like new - ventures begin 🤓Ghost and Cat5 going in, as with my other car 😎
Soo the security post was in place in front of the range rover, the guy simply drove out the middle of the drive were the second security stump or post wasn't in place... I know how much grief I get from the Mrs when she says did you put the bin out & I'm like yea yea it's out babe..because I'm busy and thinking ill do it later.... bin gets missed..
Yep easily done - part of the ‘won’t happen to me ‘ thought. The Mrs was out in her car and we had said that we should put her post up while she’s out but we never bothered- it was Sunday lunchtime after all so nothing would happen then anyway 😬
Glad you got it back. But you say in your full story, they got a signal through the pouch. But I only see one of them coming towards the Car. With no scanner ? So essentially just walked and opened the door and started it So my question is how did they know it would be unlocked and ready to start?
Good point, I think that when you first see them drive up the road they had possibly just unlocked it then, so that when they came back down and parked over the road it was already unlocked.
@@lozzom But the thing is, the lights didnt flash, if it were unlocked remotely, they would have. It was already unlocked and ready to go. There was no remote used or anything like it, the lights 100% flash, it is possible but i stared hard and couldnt see any sign of light, but maybe the light on the floor and from the car are just out of sight, however the speed they first went past, its unlikely your theory is correct anyway, i guess its a who knows
@@jessebella9322 yep; can’t believe I hadn’t locked it but I guess it’s possible although the ‘remote’ app on your phone normally tells you that. Anyway finally got it back last week and Ghosted up and Easy Access disabled etc.
@@lozzom …..yes you should be able to have a nice car without having to worry about thieves stealing it or breaking into your house. Would be nice if their were a couple of King Cobras waiting somewhere else in your car so that they could accompany those bloody car thieves on their joyride.

Fact
I was focusing on the folding mirrors however very unfortunately it seems like you didn't lock the car....
car was unlocked or they copied your key somewhere you parked valet/ mechanic shop. They rolled up on a nice Audi aswell.
Are they the ones that caused the bumper damage
Yep
Yep
Doughnut hit the wall 🙄
Yep! Unnecessary!
I wouldn't worry it'd break down before it got too far.

£70k + and no locks.
Wow. I never lock my 57 plate Vectra and nobody's touched it yet. !
Is your car repaired now?
Yep got it back in November
Losers everywhere pal. Hope you enjoy your car, you've obviously worked hard for it.
Where was this London
West Midlands - Coventry
Yes the Mercedes F1 pit team are all scousers, they can get all 4 wheels off any car faster than any other pit team.
I’ve now sold it and and bought an X5 PHEV and fitted a Ghost !
Congratulations on the X5, can I ask why you decided to switch from a RRS to an X5?
