Oh come on it’s not an act of kindness it’s a big blessing for them to be able to adopt a healthy baby. Most people wait years for that chance. I know that bc I am someone who waited years to adopt first a 2 year old and then a 7 month old out of foster care in Canada. And if people told me those kids are so lucky that I adopted them I always responded that I am the lucky one to have been chosen to be their mother
So sorry that the Original posters comment seems o have gotten hijacked in replies and landed up so far from the original positive intention of the comment. Of course this baby becoming part of their family is a blessing and they have addressed that with full faith and heart.
I too was able to give a little girl a new home this past week. She is a 5 year old shih-tzu. He name is Charlie and is just the sweetest little girl. She was rescued from a breeder. She had been having babies since she was able to. She has been fixed and is doing wonderful. I have fallen so in love with her and am very greatful to be able to give her the loving forever home she deserves. May God bless you all and keep you safe. An congratulations on the sweet addition to your family.
An idea for a random act of kindness: this is something someone did for me and it really made my day. I work at a grocery store in Indiana and a few days ago a small family with some younger kids came in and left us a painted stone. They had found a really round one at the local park and scrubbed it clean then painted pink, yellow and orange dots on it and wrote "be the reason someone smiles today." We thought it was so sweet that we put it on our main register for the customers to see. It made a lot of people smile and many people commented how sweet it was :)
We had a whole run of those over her in the UK a couple years ago a young girl called Lila had a terminal illness and one of her favorite things to do was to paint stones and leave them for people to find them. It was beautiful and we still have one we found and we as a family painted and left a lot around for others - it was a really big thing.
The majority of zone valve issues in my Alaskan days traced back to the 24v transformers being under powered. They ship the boilers expecting 2 or 3 zones. Boost the transformer to max. Remember: Lower the voltage the higher the amperage if resistance remains the same. Ran across hundreds of 24v zone valve motors that cooked due to a measly transformer that was made for 2 or 3 zones laboring for 5 or more zones! Saw it and like "DUH!"
Great to see everyone is doing great and I think it would be nice to pick a elderly person to help with repair or fix things that are in disrepair they are often forgotten!!! Thank you
Hello Somers family! Many Blessings from Michigan. I have been following you on RUclips for a few years You all are a dedicated, passionate and kind family!! I suffer from complex PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder (when I was 19 years old, my dad had a heat attack, he was in a coma for a month, I was at the hospital standing beside my dad bedside holding his hand and talking to him as his heart and lungs shut down and sadly passed away...10-28-1993). Skipping ahead to 8-3-2008 my fiance passed away due to having a massive heart attack, with quick thinking I preformed CPR until paramedics arrived and they took over, sadly he couldn'tbe revived. Losing my dad and fiance was devastating and unexpected! Anyways with that being said, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your hard work, patience and passions and for vlogging about your lives. You motivate me everyday to strive to be the greatest version of myself. Many times you have and continue to make me smile and uplift my spirits when I need it most! Again thank you for being yourselves and for the great content you put out! Sincerely, Holly ~ from Michigan
Hello Holly .. its nice to see a Michigander follow the Somers Family. I too,, am from the Great Lakes area and a life long Michigander myself. I was born n raised in Michigan. Now, I am an a 10 yr Alaskan. The Somers are awesome ppl. May God needs u all in times we struggle in. Thoughts n Prayers for e1.
Our family lived in Hastings, Michigan about 30 years ago 2 different times for total of 5 years. Loved it out there. Spent time in Grand Rapids and it is beautiful. Is 28th Street still such a challenge to drive on??? Blessings to all. Joan
When we had an abormal freeze here in Texas and Bert prayed for us it sealed the deal with me that this family is a gift to me and all of us on this channel. What a blessing you are
Note* More zone valves the more problems you'll have. One partial thing that will help is get the biggest VA transformer they sell. 40 minimum, 70 ideal. Forget the tiny one shipped with the boiler. Those are callbacks waiting to happen. Whenever I found a Honeywell go bad, I replaced it with a Taco. The green or gold head. Fewer zones = fewer problems. But your business was controls. Mine was heating. 😎
So much in this video makes me homesick. It gives me such a warm feeling in my heart. I was born and raised in Fairbanks, but moved away in 2006. I remember Gottschalks from around when I was at Lathrop! I really miss it, but its not feasible to go back.
I remember the Gottschalks in Fairbanks!!!! So sad when it closed! I still have a Liz Claiborne wallet I bought there, and I still use it sometimes. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the last thing I bought at their close out sale before they closed. Memories!
I remember when Lamont's opened at the Nugget Mall in Juneau. I was young and I loved going in there. Later it was Gottschalk's. Now I live in a small town in Northern Arizona and we have Dillard's. These department stores are lovely to shop in and I will forego the big box, one-in-done stores if at all possible. I will say, always enjoyed Fred Meyer too. Love watching the Somer's family.
Such a lovely thing taking in a new baby into your family she is a lucky little girl. Gave you given her a name yet ir did I miss that announcement ❤️❤️
We had two Gottschalks for many years in Bakersfield, California and I did all my shopping there. I was so bummed when they closed. My boys were in high school so it’s been about 15 yrears ago! I love your beautiful family and all that you do when it’s so cold outside! It’s 65 deg this morning and I had to put a sweater on to take our little Yorkie outside. I only do good in snow if it involves skiing!
Yes I remember Gottschalks, Mervys and even Sears. Many of our stores in the mainland are also consolidating. It is nice to see that your family has come together to help with the new baby. Love watching your random acts of kindness.
You asked if anyone remember the dept store Gotschalks, yes I do . They started in 1904 in Fresno California. Several of my cousins worked there in high school as I did to . My sister was on the Miss Deb board . The owners the Blums were great people . Miss those days when shopping was an experience.
You are all looking a little less tired and shell shocked!!! The baby is growing and looking so cute. The other 3 kids are looking so much more mature.....must be from taking care of baby. I have to add that I swear your snow just left and it is back again. It is going to be another long winter for you folks. God Bless you all.
Girl, I totally remember my l lips face and every other part of my body being dry when we lived in Anchorage. I want to say I miss it, living in Lawton, Oklahoma. Will most likely be our forever home. With vacations to Alaska.
The cutest little face . Babies are a Blessing . Acts of kindness is needed at all Local Animal Shelter's . Just a thought . Our furry little friends bring much joy to many . 💞🐕🐈
I am so thankful to have found your channel! Seriously, I am almost crying, we live in Kansas and my daughter just took a job at University of Alaska in Fairbanks! She and her husband have a 3 month old baby boy and my Grandma's heart is breaking. But, trying to look at the positive, we are flying up to help them get settled and I have started sending her notes from your channel. Truly, a thousand thank yous.
Missing Alaska. Wish could talk my truck driver hubby into moving there again. He isn't so sure about the work. But it's families like yours that is what reminds me of up there. Appreciate you all giving a insight of yours. It's nice to see there is great family still out there like yours! Take care and much love from Williston ND
Love watching your family. Little Miss is thriving, so that is great news. Congratulations on the school news. Look forward to seeing that. Random acts of kindness are always such a blessing to watch. It truly makes the winter months a blessing being able to help others out.
One of my favourites your family did was the one where you bought a TONNE of groceries, and took it to a homeless outreach program. You interviewed the workers and they explained how they helped their clients.
I love that Abeka is coming to your home. I use thier curriculum for my son also. I use the DVDs too. They really help out. Can't wait to see all of that take place.
I'm sure life is crazy busy! Any updates are appreciated!! My Alaskan Apparel came today. I ordered launch day and I live in New Jersey (just as reference if anyone is waiting) Love it! Baby Girl is getting so big already! Sending love and prayers ❤️ 🙏🏻
I use to work at Gottschalks here in Central, Ca. Sad to lose my job and that they had to close all their stores in 2009. It was truly the best place I ever worked at.
My go to clothing store is old navy, and there was used to be a mall in the town next to mine with a gotshalks and a mervans in it. Gotshalks closed the summer if 2009 when I was pregnant with my son. I used to get Christmas stuff and it was a good go to for clothes.

Thank you for the random act of kindness with helping the lady with her cane(you got it down for her)!! I too now have to use a cane and by Thanjsgiving a scooter and a walker! Sooo I well understand her gratitude! You are a family I turn to first each day when I turn on RUclips! Again Happy Holidays from Ruskin,,, FLA!
With your music talent and you girls singing, go to a nursing home and do even a 30 min program. My husband was in one for 2 years and they love to hear stuff like that. Even the kids just reading a couple poems or etc. activity directors love new ideas. Do several old hymns and help them sing along. It did my husband and others so much good.
Was so good to see your family this afternoon. ❤ I missed seeing your precious family, Garret learning alot from his Dad. So much going on in your life. Yet you can always see the LORD in what you both do Bert with his vision of affordable houses ( he really cares about others) what a testimony to GOD'S LOVE. Little Alaskan Apparel Princess is really growing. She's healthy blessed to have a loving home and family. 🙏 please pray for me as I still need a electric lightweight wheelchair as my broken femur still not healed. Only allowed to walk a few steps. Still need a caregiver , my wings have been really clipped, but my heavenly ones I'll be soaring . GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND YOUR 👪 RUTH VA

Yes, I remember Gottschalks in Juneau! It was a great store for school clothes shopping for my girls ❤
We need a baby name reveal soon 😁😁
Yes! I thought maybe I missed it somehow. I think Evangeline would be a pretty Somers name. 🥰🌸
I agree with you Laura gadillie. I am looking forward to seeing what precious baby girl name is!
They may not be able to release her name online until the adoption is finalized.
They may not be able to fix 6 months I don't now what Alaska rules are with Adoption
I tell ya malicious much
Your adopted baby totally looks like you, Bert. I haven't looked at the other comments yet, but I bet others have noticed that. She's darling. Congratulations.
So happy to see you guys and catch us up with all the busy, happy times in your lives🙏🙏🙏
