Thank you so much for this video. My donner arrived and I was devasted when I saw two keys that were malfunctioned. I was able to avoid the hastle of a return and fix it in under 10 minutes! I appreciate you!!
Awesome!!! Make sure you let Donner know that your piano arrived broken and you had to take it apart to fix it. You might even want to mention my video. It would be nice to see Donner address this issue.
That's fantastic! I'm so glad you were able to follow my instructions and put the hammers back in their sockets to align the keys. I know the video is super repetitive but I was learning how to fix this problem as I was filming. Great job!
This video helped! I got my first one 2 weeks ago---- defective keys. They sent another one to replace it, and even more defective keys! Out of frustration, checked RUclips, watched your video, and fixed them both in 20 minutes! If they had taken the time to refer to your video, they wouldn't have had to send me an extra one....I mean, the boxes are really heavy.
Wow, that's awesome! It seems to be a very common problem with this Donner model. I believe the shipping box, which weighs 80 pounds, was stood on its end in the truck, then fell over which knocked the key hammers out of their sockets. So glad you were able to fix both! Hopefully Donner will implement a mechanism to secure the hammers in place better.
Great! Glad my instructions helped you get your piano working again. Yes, please send this RUclips link to Donner. Hopefully they will add something to the hammer mechanism to prevent this from happening in the future.
I think it is a common problem for at least the DDP-200. I would like to know if Donner uses the same design in their other keyboards. Thanks for you compliment. I'm just a piano hack but still enjoy playing. That's all that matters. :)
Has Donner acknowledged your videos about this issue and the black keys? I see it is no longer for sale on Amazon. I really would like to get this model, but I am glad you identified these issues.
Only with basically a boilerplate form letter. I sent Donner a private link for the videos, but after a month went by and only 2 views and no followup, I decided to share the videos on RUclips so everyone can benefit from the instructions. If you just purchased a $800 digital piano from Donner and it arrived with bad keys like in this video, your first action should be to contact Donner and ask what your options are. I would NOT take the piano apart until you do that first.
Hi George - was just watching your Donner videos to see if there is any way to access to On/Off button when removing the top. My daughter pressed that button down today and it got stuck down (but not on). Was hoping to get in there to fix it if possible. Wondering if you had any insight. Thanks.
Hi Mr Lowery. Sorry I can not be much help on the power switch. My piano is back together and I'm not sure how the power switch assembly would be removed. So you are saying the button no longer clicks when you press it down? I wonder if you tap hard on it multiple times to see if it releases? Maybe a crumb of a cookie or something like that fell into the circle opening.
I have no idea if Donner's other models have this issue. I would love to have someone with a DDP 300 or the DDP 400 comment if they had the same issue when they received the piano. I only have this DDP 200.
Thank you very much for this video, it helped me fix our piano (10-15 faulty keys). Though, there was one black key which I reinserted differently and I'm unable to "untrack" it and do it again. Any clue on how to do it? Thanks a lot anyway!
Excellent job! I only had white keys with the dislocated hammers. I have no idea on how the black keys get inserted or removed. Make sure you let Donner know of your problem. If no one reports it, they will not think it is that big of an issue.
Hello! Amazing video🤩, thank you! I've got Donner dep20, and it has the same problem. I'm willing to try to fix it myself, as you've shown in this video, but I'm not sure if all of their digital pianos constructed the same, and I'm not an engineer either) Do you happen to know anything on this matter?
actually no, but I would also like to use it live and in some schools (like the old wurli) and to do so I need to know if spare parts are easily found or if they used standard keyboards (like fatar, so to speak) sorry for my English 🤷
My Donner DDP-200 is still working fine after resetting the hammers back into their mechanism. It's a nice piano and looks great in the house. I have a Yamaha P45 that I also like playing. Depending on the type of music I play, sometimes I like the sound of the Yamaha better.
@@DanaOira I'm not a great piano player, but when I am playing Moonlight Sonata for example, (hey, I try) I just think the Yamaha sounds richer and has more nuances. I am comparing using the built in speakers in both. It's really best if you can play a piano in person first before purchasing it.
@@georgeterbush2976 I actually used your video to fix all the keys and reassembled it. But, I was pretty bummed either way. Good thing you posted this because I had like 8 depressed keys. Works great now.
@@Jpunstoppable123 Finally!!! I'm so glad this video helped someone. It is so discouraging to take the time to make a video like this, and not get any feedback.
Hi, I got a ddp-80 with 7 keys that randomly stop working, I opened and I don´t see any physical piece out of place, anyone, any suggestion other than try warranty?
Hi, same goes to me. I just received it today and got 5 whites and 3 blacks not working :( I was so excited to try it when it arrived 😢 I already contacted Donner for an exchange but I don't want to wait for another week

Awesome! So glad the instructions helped. It's a really nice piano once the keys all work. LOL
If you have not done so already, make sure you contact Donner to let them know your piano arrived damaged.
well it kinda took forever to get the actual instruction part, but it ended up being a GREAT tutorial that fixed my keyboard., thanks a lot!
Thanks for the feedback. I just added a link to the description so viewers can jump right to the fix at 4:55. I'm glad you were able to fix your keys.
Easy and clear instructions!! Send it forward to Donner.

Interesting video but wondering if by dismantling the piano you invalidated the guarantee.

You did a great job...but Donner should to...
There design of key-fix-locking system failed.
Has other Donner DP-modells same keybed design ?

Hi, I’m thinking of buying one of these, but have heard mixed reviews. Is yours still working now? How has it held up over time?
It's still working but I prefer playing my Yamaha P71.

man those piano are junk..
