Though I may be late to the comments I have a question as a new person who has played multiple instruments and is getting into the category of playing the piano now, from much time researching companies of Yamaha, Casio, and Donner pianos. I've always returned to the Donner DDP 80 and Yamaha YDP s34 digital piano, im not looking for too beginner piano but a piano I can continue to grow into with my skills along with wanting to stick with a more classical sound and a pleasing look. From seeing your piano reviews on many pianos, I wanted your opinion on these two together :] Thank you for the lovely review on so many pianos!
When I was in fifth grade, I would ask my music teacher if I could play piano for the class, it was the first time I felt the weighted keys of a true piano 😂😅 it caught me off guard but I enjoyed playing it more than synth at home
Just got mine in the mail after work and i gotta say I'm really impressed with how good the internal speakers sound, the fact of how its so quiet yet loud in all the right places. it litterally sounds like a grand piano is in my living room without using any midi, a dawe, internet software, or any auxiliary devices. It also doubles as a portable piano and one cool vintage furniture piece.

Good morning!!!!! You are amazing in the descriptions!!!!!! You are amazing, dude!!!!!!!!! Incredible!!!!!! I haven't ever seen a video like that, where you give the answers needed with such clarity!!!!! Congrats!!!!! An thank you very much!!!!!
Thank you Jeremy. I was looking for an option for my second home (week end) and this piano really fills my necessity. At the end of the day the USB port always gives you a wide variety of sounds
Wait till the other Piano manufacturers get light of the style, give it a year there will be new models coming out with this very retro look, you heard it here first!!
They could put a better sample. I mean, it sounds good but it's clearly only one layer of velocity, changing only the volume between the piano and the forte.
what a beauty! looking forward for a review for Casio PX S3100 from your channel, comes only in black but seems to be a beauty and great value with arranger feature
A very impressive instrument from Donner, and a nice review, but maybe a bit too uncritical. It would be helpful to see the aesthetics with cables to the foot pedals snd power cord attached. This is an instrument that cries out for Bluetooth midi, as you could place an iPad or phone on the music rest and play the universe of midi instruments off your device. Well, maybe in “next year’s model”. (I suppose you could attach a CME or Yamaha USB Bluetooth midi adapter if they can get power.)
Amazing! I must admit that is one Retro looking Keyboard. It would fit right in the late 40's, through the 50's, and the legs scream 60's. It sounds pretty darn good too, though whatever Keyboard you give Jeremy he can make sound great. I do like the wood, they did a nice job. I'd prefer a darker stain like cherry, but this is nice to see. Nice review Jeremy! Take Care!
The recorded sound is a bit synthetic in my view, but is it better with the speakers? I guess it could be used with a vst instrument. So it would be fantastic if it had an audio in port, considering it has 25w speakers...
I have a nice upright acoustic piano in the living room, and my very old studio master keyboardneeds replacing. This has a very decent sound,. If not perfect (velocity does not modify the sound), it is more than enough for practicing without disturbing the neighbours, and usb allows it to play any nice piano (or other) VST in a DAW. The wide space without any knob allows you to place a small master keyboard or surface on the Donner for other functions than just playing. This seems a tempting set-up , at least to me. What do you think, Jeremy (or anyone else) ?
I've been looking for a new keyboard. Always been partial to Yamaha, Roland, and Korg, but came across a Donner just now, so I had to check out the sound before buying. Sounds pretty clean. Not bad
Great review, the Instrument looks wonderful, finally a nice looking instrument with a reasonable price. This proves that the many other makers are OVER PRICED.we know who they are. This is the evidence that the black plastic cheep looking instruments with great technology and sounds are vastly over priced ugly and wonderful sounding. Yes looking great and sounding wonderful needs to come together at affordable prices. Any good looking instrument builds pride in the ownership compared to just having another electronic item in the home.
It sounds too digital I am afraid, but the design is nice as a digital piano. It would be great if they can make a model which doesn't comprimize sound and action while keeping the design piano authentic. But for this price range I can understand.
Very pretty minimalist love the look, but too afraid not to go with a company other than like Yamaha who has been in business for a long time, I like kurzweil also, thinking of purchasing the dgx 670 and relay need to know how noisy the keys are I heard thumps when someone was playing it on u tube not acceptable can u tell me please about the noise of the keys on this and that model please I have to make a decision as we'd I am supposed to pick it up and pay for it found one Sam Ash was out of stock no idea when they could get one but found new 30 miles away.
Great review ! just starting piano with a cheap keyboard I bought to start learning.. I kwon now what gonna be my next investment ! By the way can you tell us the name of the song you've been playing in this review ? there is on I really want to learn.. 4.19 thanks !
Hey Jeremy - great review! Looks like a really good keyboard. Can I ask - how far apart are the legs, at their widest? I have quite a tight space I'd like to fit this in. Thanks!
Thanks for another great video. Curious if you would be able to attache a Yamaha reface cp, to be able to get vintage keyboard tones. The reface is smaller and doesn't have the same action on the keys. Thanks for your input
ABSOLUTELY not. The Roland uses the PHA-4 action, which is considered the best action under 1000 by people who have experience with these things. The sound is also much more detailed.
@@Biozene PHA 4 is terrible action but Roland will undoubtedly have a better piano sound, Yamaha even more so. The only plus side of this model seems to be the design.
This looks like a very soft, sponsored review. The piano looks nice, although some kind of toyish, not vintage just kind of outdated, yet is nice enough. However the sound is subpar, clearly only one layer of sampled velocity. This is not a professional not even an entusiast digital piano, is more like a beginner o just casual player...
Would you recommend this as the best option in terms of action for a price range of $1000 or below? Also, how does it compare in terms of action and "feel of a real piano" to the Kawaii ES920? I'm am looking for a piano that specifically "feels very real to an acoustic piano" but my budget is $1000 but I might have enough to get the kawaii ES 920 (possibly) which I've heard many good things about. Ideally thats the one I want since I've heard such good things about it but I rather not go over $1000 if I can because I'd have to borrow money and it would be difficult for me. I am just looking for the best piano thats action and feel is similar to a real acoustic piano I don't care much for the sound to be loud or too good. As long as it feels close to playing an acoustic piano. Please help me.
It's pretty nice, for what it is for the price. Donner makes quality pianos, though their brand name doesn't have name recognition status. It was nice to have hideaway controls, but makes it awkward to access them. It doesn't have escapement on the keyboard action, but as you said it's not expected at this price point. But unless you play, and prefer that, you would not miss it, and the majority of people that play piano don't even know what that is.
I am thinking of getting this as our first piano, to go in living room. Question is, if I had headphones on, can I connect piano to an iPad to use a learning app like 'Simply piano' and hear the sound from iPad at same time?
This piano looks real great!! Please, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Studiologic Numa X Piano. Especially the 73 key version with the TP 110 key action 🙏 a video review would be incredible! I think I found exactly the piano I was looking for with the 73 key version.. price to performance seems absolutely amazing.
What about some of the digital pianos from China? I can't seem to find decent reviews on them. There's one on Amazon for a similar price as the Donner DDP-80, but it doesn't have a name.
Jermy .what I feel when comparing korg and Yamaha is that Yamaha's sound output is calm and pleasing and korg's output is more aggressive and sharp .is that true ?

Great sound begins with great sound and high level of editing to our taste of what it should sound like. All Dpiano's sound good enough when played fast, like all samples, it is when you slow down and let them ring out, that is where the ugliness begins. So for the most romantic and passionate playing all Dpiano's sound like CRAP. Ever since I played my first sampled piano 35 years ago, been waiting for a hardware Dpiano that sounds like an acoustic. Software on computers have accomplished it already, don't know why it is taking so long to get the software success into a hardware piano?
Thanks for your videos. Very helpful. It is helping in the purchase of a portable digital piano. I currently own a Yamaha P-95. Great D piano but heavy and cumbersome. I use it at home to practice. I've been having a hard time finding a smaller version of this from any brand that I can use when rehearsing since I am the guitar player, lead singer and main songwriter. I just need the basic pianos and electric keyboards sounds and the ability to plug into an amp with 61 keys or less. That's it. Does anything like that exists? Thanks [I've looked at the Casio CTS400, Yamaha Reface, YPT260 but they don't really fit the bill.]
