I quite like this. Something for everybody. For those that don’t mind 30 FPS, and want the enhanced image, there’s the 4K mode. For those that want the buttery smoothness of 60 FPS, there’s the perfectly acceptable 1080p60 mode. It boggles my mind, really, that there are people upset by this. I remember in the previous XBX video, DF was presenting a game that ran at 4K30 only, and people were bitching about no 1080p60, saying that they’d rather have that. Now, a game has a 4K30, and 1080p60 mode, and those same people are complaining about it not being 4K60. Keep in mind the console isn’t even out yet. I’m sure as time goes on, devs will learn, and adapt to be able to make more use of the upgraded hardware. Even if not, if all games have a 4K30, or 1080p60 mode, it’s more than worth the upgrade in my opinion.
Even they said the drops are very minimal. 90% of the game if not more is a lock 60fps. It drops one frame anywhere in the game you guys are rushing in to laugh at it. Sad really!!!
Look at the comments people looking for reasons to justify attacking xbox one x since it was revealed, you would think these same guys who claim to be playing games at 8k on pc or owning all those PS4 exclusives would be to busy playing them to stalk xbox content
I just beat this game for the first time and I was thoroughly impressed--absolutely incredible. This is the first Gears game I have played and I really thought it would be another bland shooter, but I was surprised by the gameplay and visuals. This game running on a One X with HDR, 4K on an OLED is the most amazing looking game I have seen yet.
I'm a sony guy, and I think this looks awesome. Stop comparing consoles and PC's, I didn't want a PC so i got a PS4, couldn't be happier. XBOX boys, don't fall for PC trolls, you're getting an amazing console, I'm jealous!!

The entire point of the XboxOneX is to compete directly with the PC. Why are you pretending like that isn't the case? Of course people are going to pick out problems in performance with the XboxOneX. Microsoft has been painting a target on their back with their claims of a super console that's as powerful as high end computers.

Definitely going to replay this (was only on chapter 3 out of the 5 anyway) no doubt. Excited to find out there’s an option for native 4K 30fps and 1080p 60fps, didn’t expect that at all for the campaign. Can’t wait to see Wolfenstein II with HDR and 4K (whatever resolution that will actually be; definitely not expecting native but more than likely upscale/checkerboard like Horizon Zero Dawn) I’ve been playing on my Pro and it’s 1440p 60fps with no HDR. Probably going to pick up AC: Origins and Forza 7 as well. Just got rid of my Xbox One S for $200 so got a nice chunk out of my preorder. Definitely not stoked on having to redownload my digital games.. (The Witcher 3 especially since it’s getting a sick X1X patch) and all the Gears 4 patches. Thankfully the majority of my games are physical, always the way to go
PC GameBoy Yeah I didn’t see that until later on in the video, bit disappointing. I wanna know if the patch also effects multiplayer, that’s what I play the most. It was originally 1080p 60fps since the graphics were toned down a bit and ran just fine, curious if it’ll get the same resolution boost.

60fps mode is a must for One X users to experience Gears 4 in. I played it at 144fps and let me tell you, 60fps will still be a treat! Enjoy One X owners, revisit the campaign in 60fps mode, it is like a whole new game.
Your content just keeps improving. I was against Patreon when you started it, but if this is the result I don't mind at all. Oh, and I'm really enjoying Xbox-focused content, DF. Keep it up.(60fps campaign, woohoo!)
If you watch the video in HDR and then SDR, then there's two things that stand out. First thing is rather obvious. The 'pop-out' and vibrancy of the (brighter) colours, the deepness of the blacks etc. Second thing is that more detail is resolved in the textures, be it scenery in the far distance or the foreground. Very impressive.
I'm a big Gears of War fan, I've been a fan since the start. And out of all the gears games, Gears of War 4 is the one I like the least. The story was super repetitive, the flashbacks in the first couple of minutes in the game campaign. We're better than entire game. You spend most of the game shooting at the droids. It was extremely polished, it didn't have that gritty hopeless feel that Gears of War is known for.
droids were only on the first chapter. what the hell are you talking about? but yes, it's the worst gears. something expected in the fifth game of a trilogy. i still had fun with it. nowhere near what gears 1 did back then (it was the most fucking awesome thing ever because it was a brand new type of experience and freaking GREAT coop, something that was dead at that point), but still good.
Burnouts And Bourbon Samsung s8 plus here and wholly crap the difference is obviously there. If I haven't had upgraded my phone from the s6 active two weeks ago I probably wouldn't have seen the difference.

Hey guys, if you aren't already doing so, watch this on Google Chrome. The RUclips app (at least for my phone) caps at 1080p60 HDR. Watching this on youtube in the chrome browser gives you the option of actual 4k resolution. It looks insane.
Replaying this now on Xbox one X with my son and it's awesome. 4k 60fps. Honestly the clarity over 2k upscaled to 4k versus 4k native is outstanding. Still both great I'm not complaining. I remember how well games looked at 720p on ps3 and Xbox 360. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Only had my X a couple of weeks and I got GoW 4 the other day. It looks absolutely beautiful in 4K. I've never had an issue with 30fps. I haven't even tired out the other visual mode.
I will tell you, ppl mocking this console because it drops frames in (performance mode) at 1080p 60fps on campaign. This game on ultra settings even struggles on some higher end PCs @1080p. Not sure if the One X is using insane settings as well. In ought for me to run this game @4K 60fps, I have to turn down some settings like distance focus blur and some shadows.. And I have a MSI GTX 1080 Armour OC, Intel I7 6700K..
this game does not struggle on pc lol. u either lying about your pc or dont have the game. Gears has got to be one of the best optimized games on the pc platform. unfortunately it never sold well enough. theres essentially no playerbase at all.
Problem with split-screen HDR / SDR is that your display be set to HDR and thus rendering SDR content incorrectly. It might be a cool, but highly inaccurate showcase of HDR vs SDR.

6 > 4 yet the console can't do 1080p 60fps for an exclusive game. I was beginning to feel my 980Ti was weaker than this console simply because it had more teraflops. PS4 Pro isn't any better. Been playing uncharted 4 multiplayer and gotta say sure its a bump in resolution but nothing dramatic to warrant the Pros price. I played the game 1080p maxed out 120fps with a 980Ti which is 5.8Tflops.
which is my point. sony made a really good gpu but barely did anything to the cpu. why on earth would microsoft just straight up copy that. sure the whole ram thing is great. its not going to give them more framerate. infact you need more ram for 4k gaming. thats a requirement. but what i don't get is why didn't they hit gamers where they coudl have most and made like a 3ghz cpu with that gpu. even if the gpu was the same power as the pro, checkerboarding isn't that bad at all. we all look down on it as if its shit. its not. gives you a great image despite not being a native 4k. 1800p checkerboarded is better than 1080p any day lol.

Night and day difference. Had this on the S And X. People always forget to mention that your monitor plays a huge role as well. If it doesn’t support WCG or local dimming don’t your still vastly missing out even if you have the X.
raheem860 watch the video. Power draw is lower in performance mode meaning it's the CPU bottlenecking the performance. A higher resolution would be possible in order to utilize the gpu better.
USMAN HUSSAIN the gpu is only using 60% or so of its power. At 1440p you would get the same dips since it's the CPUs fault not the gpu. The gpu could be used better is all I'm saying. The CPU isn't strained harder at higher resolution, just look at any benchmark at 4k or so, CPU handles draw calls, AI and other stuff. It syncs with the gpu for each frame. But resolution is just the gpus work
The fact that the Xbox One X can do this for modern games, play original Xbox games even better than the original hardware along with Xbox 360 playback AND select Xbox 360 games are Xbox One X Enhanced, leveraging the additional power of the console for higher resolution, 9X the original pixel count, and expanded color details, really shows Xbox is a game machine for gamers! LOL! There is a huge difference. You're not going to be able to tell a difference on a highly compressed RUclips video, and you have to have a 4K TV. Compared to the 1080p Xbox One version, the difference is very large.
It was said on the video that you had to download a patch for the 4K assets etc...Does this mean that every Xbox One X enhanced game has a patch to be downloaded in order to get the benefits of the new hardware. This seems like quite a bad thing for those with slow internet connections, and we already live in the age of day one patches and 'Oh, we'll just fix this game post-launch way of thinking.' More and more stuff to be downloaded which is not included on the disc. I have no idea if this is how PS4 Pro works as well, since I don't have one.
I am VERY happy that MS seems to be giving people the option. Too many PSPro games don't let you choose how you want to take advantage of the extra power

Me personally I couldn't be more happier. Native 4k stable 30fps hdr high quality textures perfect for couldn't care less if it's not a stable 60fps. It will look absolutely glorious on my 50 inch 4k tv. Stay petty and salty fan boys and enjoy rest of your day.

Wow what a show case 1x title one of the best of this current gen. Ive finished gears 4 5xs on both 4k30 & 1080p 60 & it's very smooth in both modes. The 1080p 60fps mode blew me away -it's buttery smooth & not once did i notice lag or slow down that affected my entite play through. Respect 2 coalition 4 show casing one of the best unreal 4 eng games, easily up there with gears 5 & good war 4 as 1 of the best looking action shooters of all time. It really is worth getting a 1x just 4 this masterpiece. 1x is a solid power house gaming platform! If only ms had released much more games of this quality on 1x from day 1!!!!
That HDR is absolutely incredible a total game changer as I watched this video on my iPad Pro 10.5, and oh my gosh seriously that’s a night, and day difference as I never knew HDR was thus big of a deal as I just thought it was mainly blacker blacks, and brighter whites to be honest but nope HDR is much more than that, and this is the first comparison video where I’ve been able to truly see the difference, and it’s absolutely phenomenal, and I’m very grateful I’ve got a Samsung 55 inch 4k HDR television set ready to go when my XboxOneX ProjectScorpio edition console arrives Tuesday 😁 Oh yea FYI for those which have an HDR television which doesn’t have the full 1,000 nits of brightness, and or a wide color gamut IT DOES NOT MATTER RIGHT NOW GUYS AS DIGITAL FOUNDRY IS MISLEADING EVERYONE AS THE TRUTH IS RIGHT NOW WITH THE CURRENT HDMI STANDARD ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO GET THE FULL BENEFITS OF WIDE COLOR GAMUT HDR BECAUSE ITS BANDWIDTH LIMITED TO EITHER YUV 420 or YUV422 due to bandwidth limitations of the HDMI standard, and this applies to every single television on the market today even the most expensive models as none of them have the newer HDMI STANDARD YET AS IT WONT BE IMPLEMENTED IN TELEVISION SETS UNTIL 2018 as right now like I’ve said every single 4k hdr television set is limited to YUV420 or YUV422 due to the bandwidth limitations, and so the only differences you’ll see is with the 1,000 nits brightness where the brighter television sets will obviously show the highlights brighter but again it’s limited, and the color saturation of the wide color gamut is limited on all television sets to YUV420 / YUV422, and so right now don’t waste a shit ton of money on a ultra high end 4k hdr television because they’re not future proof until the new HDMI standard gets implemented next year sometime in 2018 as it’s a hardware implementation which can’t be fixed with a firmware upgrade as the television sets of today simply cannot do full HDR 10 due to bandwidth limitations of the HDMI STANDARD, and so that’s just something to keep in mind people...... Infi i built a rig, i regret it, Shitty ports, DRM, annoying troubleshooting, hackers have ruined my experience with online gaming... and to.tpp it off Gaming on keyboard and mouse might have helped me developed carpal tunnel....going to PC Gaming was the biggest mistake I've ever made.
Mordecai R well as someone who also moved from console last lastgen I can't say I honestly share your experiences, customisation on a personal level that suits me means that even shitty ports run better than on console I.e 30 fps. Cheating and hacking claims that are so overblown they have never dented my overall impression of the multiplayer scene oh and troubleshooting small problems I can fix with a RUclips or google search if ever these rare problems do come up. Sorry to hear about your your health but I have never suffered or felt like gaming peripherals have affected me negatively if anything it has improved my posture due to the nature of my chair and the way it supports my back I'm not slouching with a joystick anymore. And that was just with my initial build and not even counting other points I could male now I have a 7700k OC'd to 4.8 ghz a GTX 1070 all the bells and whistles etc I would never look back people have opinions but objectively pc gaming is the way to go these days and that's just a fact.
Infi my experience is not like that at all, hackers have ruined it for me, I never really cared if games are 30fps or 120FPS... if they're fun that's all it matters to me, sorry but no I rather enjoy more of time actually playing games than finding a answer to my PC issues on RUclips...its a waste of time, I do more gaming on consoles than I did on PC...i wasted too much time dealing with settings and troubleshooting instead of actually playing games, not for me sitting at a desk has messed me up terribly and since I had to switch to a controller but it was not fun since I was playing against other players with keyboard and mouse, seriously PC gaming is the worst in my experience, nah mate PC isn't the way to go, gaming is subjective you play were you want.
Sounds to me you are doing something very wrong if you spent most your time troubleshooting how could you develop carpet tunnel surely you spent a lot of time gaming weird... or you have never played a PC in your life and have just googled arguments against PC gaming and wrote the first things you saw down? What specs does your PC have ? Did you build it? What games did you play? nothing makes sense here sorry fella...
Somebody on the official Gears of War forums found a nasty input lag in GOW4 on X1X with his testing. Basically double response time between PC and X1X. A double check from Digital Foundry would be nice if you have some time.
About the Drop frames in performance mode. I've played this game on a great PC game machine and the drops frames happens in the same way, in the same area. I believe this is a engine issue with stress areas. But PC still does better in terms of resolution and frame reate. For a machine with the price of a single mid-end GPU for PC, it does incredible well.

Just picked up a One X brand new from a guy who won it from Taco Bell. It came with GOW 4 and Forza 7. I also sold my Xbox one for $160 so technically i paid only $240 for my X. These games are so effing beautiful...
30 FPS though, urghh. For me 60 fps is much more important then resolution, I run most games at 1440p or 1080p with highest possible refresh on a g-sync monitor.

So let me get this straight, last gen they focused on the CPU - the ps3 with the power of the core and everything. It kinda failed. This time they focus on the GPU- muh 6 teraflops and all that. Still fails. *Ram, check 12gb - GPU, check 6tflops - Power supply check - CPU... CPU? DAMMIT I knew we forgot something, well, better luck next time right* Its like building a three legged table.
I understand that, but I still don't understand why they blow their load on one thing. Why pit it all on the GPU? Why don't they scale back the GPU and instead try a more balanced approach, where the CPU and GPU compliment each other and work in tandem, best of both worlds. Its like they train one arm to be really buff and let the other wither away.

Everybody has to understand - you need only 2-3x GPU for 4k and you need 2xCPU and 2x GPU for stable 1080p 60fps. Adding more powerful GPU is way easier, cheaper and rational. It's the main reason why developers use and will use 30fps as a standart
That question isn't odd, the fact that we know the solution but console developers aren't implementing it -is odd. This is supposed to be their new powerhouse console, the one to end them all... but it still cant do 1080p60? But then again, that also seems to boil down to the game. Forza is doing 4k60fps, so why cant GoW hit stable 1080p60? It all boggles my mind. 4A games got metro 2033 and last light to run at 1080p60fps on a standard PS4 and imo, it looks better than this.
It took me 2 days to download this, forget the 4k mode, it looks cleaner but the much lower framerate is not worth the added crispyness. The high framerate mode is fantastic and the HDR looks awesome
Sub 60fps at 1080p.. And people were saying it was gonna be 4k 60fps in the campaign.. lol CPU is just too outdated. Still impressive to run at 4k 30 though.. Framerate is more important to me, so i will tick with 1440 144fps on PC.
SotNist No PC can handle that, but if i could i would. 4k 60 my PC can do if i turn off AA, and a few settimg to very high rather than ultra. I just rather higher fps.

I've watched this on both my S8 and my 1080p HDTV and... other than the screen just being better quality, I don't notice a difference. And on the split-screen comparison, the HDR part looks extra good on my TV... in fact, I'd say it looks like they muted the colours more than usual for the comparison feature. Either HDR doesn't work properly on the Galaxy S8 through RUclips or I'm blind. But I doubt I'm blind, the difference is huge on actual downloaded HDR videos.

Ive been watching videos on it and it does not seem to hard. At first i though it was but now that i think about it its not. I mean i replaced engine parts on my mini multiple times... it should not be harder than that?..
Omar Arancivia Bolanos just buy a dell optiplex with a 3rd gen i7, its a full system only for around 150$ and add a 6gb gtx 1060 for 260$ from newegg, much better than the xbonex
Oh I'm on a non HDR phone I can tell a difference mostly with the sky. Crazy thing is in some scenes it looks like a blurry film is over the screen like the difference between 1080vs4k.
Chaniyth they didn't let that info out, he clearly sed that its 30fps locked in 4k, no matter the scene . But seeing this vid I'm convinced now that this is a xbox version of the ps4 pro, yes a little more powerful but still the same shit.
That HDR looks mighty nice on a KS8000. About on par with Titanfall 2, but a little more intense in some spots. RUclips never really shows how sharp and clean full 4K textures look. I realized that with Sine Mora EX a few weeks back. It runs native 4K on PS4 Pro, and looks incredible in person, but 4K youtube videos didn't do it justice at all.
It's interesting that, even though I'm using an SDR screen, I definitely do see a bit of a difference in the HDR/SDR split-screen mode. Realistically, that's probably down to the difference between RUclips's tone-mapping and the game's SDR presentation, and I have to say, RUclips does a nice job with that.
and the coalition continues to impress. and yes, freesync support can't come soon enough (also that tech that allows people to install only what they want)

Definitely going to replay this (was only on chapter 3 out of the 5 anyway) no doubt. Excited to find out there’s an option for native 4K 30fps and 1080p 60fps, didn’t expect that at all for the campaign.
Can’t wait to see Wolfenstein II with HDR and 4K (whatever resolution that will actually be; definitely not expecting native but more than likely upscale/checkerboard like Horizon Zero Dawn) I’ve been playing on my Pro and it’s 1440p 60fps with no HDR. Probably going to pick up AC: Origins and Forza 7 as well. Just got rid of my Xbox One S for $200 so got a nice chunk out of my preorder.
Definitely not stoked on having to redownload my digital games.. (The Witcher 3 especially since it’s getting a sick X1X patch) and all the Gears 4 patches. Thankfully the majority of my games are physical, always the way to go

60fps mode is a must for One X users to experience Gears 4 in. I played it at 144fps and let me tell you, 60fps will still be a treat! Enjoy One X owners, revisit the campaign in 60fps mode, it is like a whole new game.

If you watch the video in HDR and then SDR, then there's two things that stand out.
First thing is rather obvious. The 'pop-out' and vibrancy of the (brighter) colours, the deepness of the blacks etc.
Second thing is that more detail is resolved in the textures, be it scenery in the far distance or the foreground.
Very impressive.

I'm a big Gears of War fan, I've been a fan since the start. And out of all the gears games, Gears of War 4 is the one I like the least. The story was super repetitive, the flashbacks in the first couple of minutes in the game campaign. We're better than entire game. You spend most of the game shooting at the droids. It was extremely polished, it didn't have that gritty hopeless feel that Gears of War is known for.

Hey guys, if you aren't already doing so, watch this on Google Chrome. The RUclips app (at least for my phone) caps at 1080p60 HDR.
Watching this on youtube in the chrome browser gives you the option of actual 4k resolution. It looks insane.
Replaying this now on Xbox one X with my son and it's awesome. 4k 60fps. Honestly the clarity over 2k upscaled to 4k versus 4k native is outstanding. Still both great I'm not complaining. I remember how well games looked at 720p on ps3 and Xbox 360. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Only had my X a couple of weeks and I got GoW 4 the other day. It looks absolutely beautiful in 4K. I've never had an issue with 30fps. I haven't even tired out the other visual mode.
I will tell you, ppl mocking this console because it drops frames in (performance mode) at 1080p 60fps on campaign. This game on ultra settings even struggles on some higher end PCs @1080p. Not sure if the One X is using insane settings as well. In ought for me to run this game @4K 60fps, I have to turn down some settings like distance focus blur and some shadows.. And I have a MSI GTX 1080 Armour OC, Intel I7 6700K..
1060 runs it at a locked 60 with a much higher fov though.
this game does not struggle on pc lol. u either lying about your pc or dont have the game. Gears has got to be one of the best optimized games on the pc platform. unfortunately it never sold well enough. theres essentially no playerbase at all.

I run it on 1080 on ultra with my 970, 60 fps without drops.. idk , and the performance mode is not using ultra setting..
I run this game at 1440p with a 7700k/gtx 1080 well above 80+ minimum fps with the highest setting possible.

Problem with split-screen HDR / SDR is that your display be set to HDR and thus rendering SDR content incorrectly. It might be a cool, but highly inaccurate showcase of HDR vs SDR.

Its the CPU not the GPU. I had a gtx1060 with an i3 6100 and would get dips in some areas. Upgraded to an i5 6500 and the game ran perfectly.

PS4 Pro isn't any better. Been playing uncharted 4 multiplayer and gotta say sure its a bump in resolution but nothing dramatic to warrant the Pros price.
I played the game 1080p maxed out 120fps with a 980Ti which is 5.8Tflops.

which is my point. sony made a really good gpu but barely did anything to the cpu. why on earth would microsoft just straight up copy that. sure the whole ram thing is great. its not going to give them more framerate. infact you need more ram for 4k gaming. thats a requirement. but what i don't get is why didn't they hit gamers where they coudl have most and made like a 3ghz cpu with that gpu. even if the gpu was the same power as the pro, checkerboarding isn't that bad at all. we all look down on it as if its shit. its not. gives you a great image despite not being a native 4k. 1800p checkerboarded is better than 1080p any day lol.

Night and day difference. Had this on the S And X. People always forget to mention that your monitor plays a huge role as well. If it doesn’t support WCG or local dimming don’t your still vastly missing out even if you have the X.

Of the CPU is limiting it in performance mode why not target 1440p? The gpu has room to be used more effectively
they targeted 1080p 60fps and couldn't get that locked so why target 1440p
raheem860 watch the video. Power draw is lower in performance mode meaning it's the CPU bottlenecking the performance. A higher resolution would be possible in order to utilize the gpu better.
USMAN HUSSAIN the gpu is only using 60% or so of its power. At 1440p you would get the same dips since it's the CPUs fault not the gpu. The gpu could be used better is all I'm saying. The CPU isn't strained harder at higher resolution, just look at any benchmark at 4k or so, CPU handles draw calls, AI and other stuff. It syncs with the gpu for each frame. But resolution is just the gpus work

LOL! There is a huge difference. You're not going to be able to tell a difference on a highly compressed RUclips video, and you have to have a 4K TV. Compared to the 1080p Xbox One version, the difference is very large.
It was said on the video that you had to download a patch for the 4K assets etc...Does this mean that every Xbox One X enhanced game has a patch to be downloaded in order to get the benefits of the new hardware. This seems like quite a bad thing for those with slow internet connections, and we already live in the age of day one patches and 'Oh, we'll just fix this game post-launch way of thinking.' More and more stuff to be downloaded which is not included on the disc.

Wow what a show case 1x title one of the best of this current gen. Ive finished gears 4 5xs on both 4k30 & 1080p 60 & it's very smooth in both modes. The 1080p 60fps mode blew me away -it's buttery smooth & not once did i notice lag or slow down that affected my entite play through.
Respect 2 coalition 4 show casing one of the best unreal 4 eng games, easily up there with gears 5 & good war 4 as 1 of the best looking action shooters of all time. It really is worth getting a 1x just 4 this masterpiece. 1x is a solid power house gaming platform!

That HDR is absolutely incredible a total game changer as I watched this video on my iPad Pro 10.5, and oh my gosh seriously that’s a night, and day difference as I never knew HDR was thus big of a deal as I just thought it was mainly blacker blacks, and brighter whites to be honest but nope HDR is much more than that, and this is the first comparison video where I’ve been able to truly see the difference, and it’s absolutely phenomenal, and I’m very grateful I’ve got a Samsung 55 inch 4k HDR television set ready to go when my XboxOneX ProjectScorpio edition console arrives Tuesday 😁
Oh yea FYI for those which have an HDR television which doesn’t have the full 1,000 nits of brightness, and or a wide color gamut IT DOES NOT MATTER RIGHT NOW GUYS AS DIGITAL FOUNDRY IS MISLEADING EVERYONE AS THE TRUTH IS RIGHT NOW WITH THE CURRENT HDMI STANDARD ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO GET THE FULL BENEFITS OF WIDE COLOR GAMUT HDR BECAUSE ITS BANDWIDTH LIMITED TO EITHER YUV 420 or YUV422 due to bandwidth limitations of the HDMI standard, and this applies to every single television on the market today even the most expensive models as none of them have the newer HDMI STANDARD YET AS IT WONT BE IMPLEMENTED IN TELEVISION SETS UNTIL 2018 as right now like I’ve said every single 4k hdr television set is limited to YUV420 or YUV422 due to the bandwidth limitations, and so the only differences you’ll see is with the 1,000 nits brightness where the brighter television sets will obviously show the highlights brighter but again it’s limited, and the color saturation of the wide color gamut is limited on all television sets to YUV420 / YUV422, and so right now don’t waste a shit ton of money on a ultra high end 4k hdr television because they’re not future proof until the new HDMI standard gets implemented next year sometime in 2018 as it’s a hardware implementation which can’t be fixed with a firmware upgrade as the television sets of today simply cannot do full HDR 10 due to bandwidth limitations of the HDMI STANDARD, and so that’s just something to keep in mind people......

Infi i built a rig, i regret it, Shitty ports, DRM, annoying troubleshooting, hackers have ruined my experience with online gaming... and to.tpp it off Gaming on keyboard and mouse might have helped me developed carpal tunnel....going to PC Gaming was the biggest mistake I've ever made.
Mordecai R well as someone who also moved from console last lastgen I can't say I honestly share your experiences, customisation on a personal level that suits me means that even shitty ports run better than on console I.e 30 fps.
Cheating and hacking claims that are so overblown they have never dented my overall impression of the multiplayer scene oh and troubleshooting small problems I can fix with a RUclips or google search if ever these rare problems do come up.
Sorry to hear about your your health but I have never suffered or felt like gaming peripherals have affected me negatively if anything it has improved my posture due to the nature of my chair and the way it supports my back I'm not slouching with a joystick anymore.
And that was just with my initial build and not even counting other points I could male now I have a 7700k OC'd to 4.8 ghz a GTX 1070 all the bells and whistles etc I would never look back people have opinions but objectively pc gaming is the way to go these days and that's just a fact.
Infi my experience is not like that at all, hackers have ruined it for me, I never really cared if games are 30fps or 120FPS... if they're fun that's all it matters to me, sorry but no I rather enjoy more of time actually playing games than finding a answer to my PC issues on RUclips...its a waste of time, I do more gaming on consoles than I did on PC...i wasted too much time dealing with settings and troubleshooting instead of actually playing games, not for me sitting at a desk has messed me up terribly and since I had to switch to a controller but it was not fun since I was playing against other players with keyboard and mouse, seriously PC gaming is the worst in my experience, nah mate PC isn't the way to go, gaming is subjective you play were you want.

Somebody on the official Gears of War forums found a nasty input lag in GOW4 on X1X with his testing. Basically double response time between PC and X1X. A double check from Digital Foundry would be nice if you have some time.

About the Drop frames in performance mode. I've played this game on a great PC game machine and the drops frames happens in the same way, in the same area. I believe this is a engine issue with stress areas. But PC still does better in terms of resolution and frame reate. For a machine with the price of a single mid-end GPU for PC, it does incredible well.

Just picked up a One X brand new from a guy who won it from Taco Bell. It came with GOW 4 and Forza 7. I also sold my Xbox one for $160 so technically i paid only $240 for my X. These games are so effing beautiful...
30 FPS though, urghh. For me 60 fps is much more important then resolution, I run most games at 1440p or 1080p with highest possible refresh on a g-sync monitor.

I understand that, but I still don't understand why they blow their load on one thing. Why pit it all on the GPU? Why don't they scale back the GPU and instead try a more balanced approach, where the CPU and GPU compliment each other and work in tandem, best of both worlds.

4A games got metro 2033 and last light to run at 1080p60fps on a standard PS4 and imo, it looks better than this.
It took me 2 days to download this, forget the 4k mode, it looks cleaner but the much lower framerate is not worth the added crispyness. The high framerate mode is fantastic and the HDR looks awesome

On my cheap AOC Q2577PWQ difference between HDR and non-HDR is clearly visible. HDR looks so much better and vibrant!
Sub 60fps at 1080p.. And people were saying it was gonna be 4k 60fps in the campaign.. lol CPU is just too outdated. Still impressive to run at 4k 30 though.. Framerate is more important to me, so i will tick with 1440 144fps on PC.

I have one question though - does XBOX One X support RUclips HDR? If yes - it'll replace X800 as BD/YT player, if not - well.

I've watched this on both my S8 and my 1080p HDTV and... other than the screen just being better quality, I don't notice a difference. And on the split-screen comparison, the HDR part looks extra good on my TV... in fact, I'd say it looks like they muted the colours more than usual for the comparison feature. Either HDR doesn't work properly on the Galaxy S8 through RUclips or I'm blind. But I doubt I'm blind, the difference is huge on actual downloaded HDR videos.

Ive been watching videos on it and it does not seem to hard. At first i though it was but now that i think about it its not. Oh I'm on a non HDR phone I can tell a difference mostly with the sky. Crazy thing is in some scenes it looks like a blurry film is over the screen like the difference between 1080vs4k.

Chaniyth they didn't let that info out, he clearly sed that its 30fps locked in 4k, no matter the scene . But seeing this vid I'm convinced now that this is a xbox version of the ps4 pro, yes a little more powerful but still the same shit.
That HDR looks mighty nice on a KS8000. About on par with Titanfall 2, but a little more intense in some spots.
RUclips never really shows how sharp and clean full 4K textures look. I realized that with Sine Mora EX a few weeks back. It runs native 4K on PS4 Pro, and looks incredible in person, but 4K youtube videos didn't do it justice at all.

It's interesting that, even though I'm using an SDR screen, I definitely do see a bit of a difference in the HDR/SDR split-screen mode. Realistically, that's probably down to the difference between RUclips's tone-mapping and the game's SDR presentation, and I have to say, RUclips does a nice job with that.
