Tino Ceberano Hanshi - A Survivor

The official launch of Tino Ceberano Hanshi's book at Camberwell Civic Centre opened with a kata performance to "The Lonely Shepherd" played by Gheorge Zamfir, selected as a favourite by Hanshi as he once performed kata to it at the Sydney Opera House before a large audience. In the preceding days we rehearsed the kata and took some video for the archives. As I reviewed it, I was struck by the intensity and passion. This was just a rehearsal on the deck at home.
I decided to share it with no apology for the backyard and next door backdrops. To be in the presence of a man who turned 81 years a few days before who has continuously dedicated himself to his art was humbling for me.
