Found this tutorial this week and just finished it! I used a bulkier yarn I had on hand so its super fuzzy and warm. So cute! This is my first big project that isn't just me messing around and experimenting to see what works (made my skeleton decoration a hat and scarf and stuff like that), and I'm so proud of the results! You made it super easy to learn the new stiches needed and figure out how to make the pattern fit me (I'm a size 3x so I was very impressed that I could make a crochet garment that fits so easily!) I love the made to measure nature of this as it made it so easy to adjust whatever I needed! Thank you so much for making the video! You've reignited my love for crochet after quitting for several years. I plan to make this with several different yarns of all colors and sizes so they can be a new wardrobe staple. I absolutely love it!
I love that you showed the stacked single crochet for starting a dc row rather than using a turning chain. I think the stacked sc looks so much better. I usually use it in place of a turning chain myself. :) love this tutorial. (Tip for beginners who might read comments: You can also use a sc+ch1 in place of a dc or turning chain on a dc row.)
Hey! Thanks a lot for the tutorial , it came at the perfect time cause i just got my crochet supplies! Gonna try this one. Thank you for your work! Have a lovely day
Hi cherilyn, how are you doing today iam doing fine today your items are very beautiful colors and very beautiful work thank you for Sharing stay safe 😊 ☺ 💗
Hello. I just started crocheting and was following your easy knit look beanie tutorial, but I had a problem. I measured my initial chain to be 11 inches, but then after doing many rows of the slip stitch it shrunk to more like 7-8 inches! How do I avoid this? I think maybe I didn't use a big enough hook because you mentioned to size up the hook for that stitch, but I didn't listen :( This caused the loops to be very tight and may have pulled the chain closer together. I'm thinking of just redoing it using your other method of half double crochet slip stitch method for the knit look beanie because with the weight 4 yarn I'm using the slip stitch takes a really long time to build up the material, but I was wondering if you had any advice on how to keep the initial chain measurement the same without shrinking. Thanks! Btw, I found your videos are the easiest to follow and the end results look amazing!!! Keep it up. Also, I was wondering if you thought about making a gloves or mittens tutorial? I would like to make these at some point. Though I imagine you aren't thinking about that with it being Summer in Australia right now.
Hi, there! Thank you so much! 🥰 With the slip stitch, it will shrink unfortunately even though a bigger hook can help a little. However, with other basic stitches including half double slip stitch, it will not shrink so dramatically so you should be safe chaining 15 inches for the beginning chain. You'll need a little more space at the top of the beanie where you close off the opening so I'm not sure whether 11 inch chain would be enough. I do already have a fingerless glove tutorial on the channel if it helps but I'm planning to make full finger ones and mittens in the future. I try not to get affected by my season as people in the opposite season could be needing something too 🥰💕
@@CherilynQ Thank you so much for the tips! I think I will go with 15 inches for the new one! And yes I saw the fingerless gloves, but I would also be interested in ones with fingers too!
You'll need to add the body after you completely finish the shrug. If you just work more rows, you sleeves will be wider, and that's probably not what you want.
Hi! Thank you! I think it'll work fine with a heavier weight yarn. You'll just need to adjust the stitch number and maybe row count according to your own measurement. I suggest going through the video for how the project is structured, makes it much better to decide what to adjust 😊
Hey cherilyn Im having some trouble with this. I started w a chain of 201 and then followed your pattern for 7 rows. When i go to mark the neck hole tho i always have five middle double crochets instead of six. What am I doing wrong?
Hi! It’s hard to say but it doesn’t have to be exactly 6 dcs. It could be 5 or 7 or any other number depending on your gauge, as long as long as the finished neck hole is big enough for you.

maybe I missed where you said the brand and colour of the yarn but I would love to know please. It is absolutely stunning.!!!!!!
Not sure if I mentioned it either but it’s called Carnival from Hobbii.
I love this so much I'm corcheting it right now! If my arms are bigger should I add extra rows to it??
Hi! Yes, add equal number of rows before AND after the neck hole.
Thank you so much!
No problem! ☺️
Hi! Love the tutorial, going ti the store right now to buy more yarn. How much/how manu grams did you use for This?
How many grams of yarn would I need for this?
Pls what if i don't want the front part to be had short as that

Hi Sherilyn! I love this pattern but I was wondering if it would be possible to make it with a heavier weight yarn?

@@CherilynQ Thank you so much!
No worries!
How many skeins of yarn do I need for this? Did you only use one? Looking to get supplies to make this :)
Hi! Yes, I think 1 skein is enough. The yarn I used is 100g per skein.
Can you do knitting fishnet shrugs pls ❤
Hii! I actually have one on the channel! A few videos ago! But let me know if you wanted a different style!

@Cherilyn Q thanks for the great tutorial and the quick reply😊 wishing you well 🌻
What size does this make? Like a medium/large?
This is made-to-measure.
Whool or cotton?
Whatever your preference.
wait do i start with the 211 chain or chain of 21?
