Sounds like after he told her to get a job and she started gaining independence and getting her own friends and life, he started getting jealous. He seemed to like the whole "sugar daddy" control dynamic but didn't like the part where he had to pay for it. Then, when she started getting her own life at his behest, he didn't like that either.

Nah dont think that! Something wrong if fail it 4 times.. Id be scared being on the road with you if fail 3 times imagine knowing how to drive. Driving test written is basic common sense and the questions are the same just reworded. Even reading the hand book itself.
I believe people not just teens should be mandatory to take class before getting a driver's license and to gain some experience behind the wheel so when go for actual driving test not so nervous.
To many people making mistakes or taking risk's or having the knowledge and end up in accident or killing someone.
Lucky I got that knowledge! Both test got 98% and living in Oregon who is one of the hardest states on testing. And we also have to renew evey 8 years and have eye check's. Not states giving 40 year's and thats it.

My daughter was in the international baccalaureate program and she had to take the driving test 4 times. I was an average student and passed it my first go. Maybe some people overthink it. Or maybe it’s anxiety. I’ve learned not to judge.

This Judge is the most empathetic, patient and polite judge that I have ever seen anywhere. She really goes above and beyond to be fair to everybody involved. We need more like her.

I love how judge Milian gave the defendant that pointer at the end. Hinting that the car was a marital asset and that she basically has a right to half of the earnings from him selling the car. She a real one.
That's if their marriage is even legal. If she really is married to someone else for the entirety of this marriage and he can prove it, it can be declared as a none valid marriage. If it does, she's not entitled to a single thing of his and she along with her daughter can be deported. She could also be charged with filing a false residency from being married to a US citizen. She's already lucky she wasn't ever arrested for driving without a license.

A marriage is a contract, he married her with the premises that he would provide and be the sugar daddy but asked her to be the provider once she got here. A lot of women from other countries are more submissive to their husbands than American women. He wanted to control her. That’s what I’m getting from this case. I met a young lady from Dominican Republic, she met her husband when he was on vacation in DR, she(26) and was his waitress at a restaurant where they met. He married her and moved her to America. He was so controlling and verbally abused her. They marriage only lasted for towo years and she’s back in Dominican Republic. Btw he was 60 and she was his 5th wife. His ex wife before her was Asian.

People in theses comments obviously didn't watch the video if they think she was only with him for a visa. They were together for 10 years before they even married. There's no person in the world who would do a 10 year long game for a visa. Within a few months she could have gotten him to get her a visa with the way he wanted to be with her. They were in a relationship, it didn't work out and it ended nasty. The fact that this guy brought up the visa in the first place tells you just how much he tried to manipulate it like she was using him to get to America.
You must've missed the part where she was MARRIED before him. She's literally married to 2 guys currently. Also, you honestly believe this old geezer was the only dude she was "dating" online? She's from a country where prostitution is legal. The few times he went to see her, best believe he paid for her body. And I'm sure for all of those "10 years" he was sending her money.

There's an entire industry of this in Colombia. That's how a lot of the women over there survive. My silly coworker is in the same situation right now.

I've been trying to figure them out, and I think you're right. He's definitely the meaner one, making insulting remarks at her in court. And maybe she really has nothing to do with her ex, he just won't give her the divorce? Divorce rules are different in other countries, she could be more innocent than she seems. (Probably not, but we'll never know.)
And the 22 year age difference doesn't help.

See this is waht always happens when these old men go to other coutries and find a younger wife. They make all these promises of luxiry and comfort. The woman takes them up on it, and he makes her get a job. She gets a job, and he losses it b/c now she has a social life and her own funds. Roses all of a sudden don't smell so fresh.
I think they played each other. He wanted someone he could control and she wanted a wealthy man and a green card, leaving her original husband at home.

I like this judge very much. She's concise, meaning to the point, asks meaningful questions and is quick to get the true picture and draw a conclusion. Her fairness, forthrightness and unbiased decisions make her a very likeable person.
The Judge decided right away that she thought this dude was a douche, he was screwed no matter what the facts were. She constantly attributes thoughts and feelings to him in her questions which no one (not even the ex-wife) introduced. I think they were both lying.
