    You have to remove the old dash cover and foam and they fit perfect. Ive done probably 7 of these.

      Yes, that would be replacing the entire dash pad🤷🏼‍♂️ I don’t wanna spend $500 on a dash pad, just the cheap cover.

    Best way is take a heat gun and take the old dash covering off.
    And that dash pad will fit perfect.

    Do you think it would be easier if you pulled out the dash and attached it outside with clamps instead of weights?

      If you want to tackle that then be my guest. Eventually I’m gonna get a new dash pad. Not now though because it’s very expensive. I don’t think it’s that difficult to get the dash pad off and yes I’m sure that would be better. It’s just kind of a temporary fix And to be perfectly honest this truck does not sit out in the sun and the cover is warping .Good luck

    I've been all over this squarebody dash situation. Your best possible outcome is to have the factory dash repaired. There is no aftermarket solution that looks good. They all suck. Nobody makes a metal core dash (like factory) which is what is needed. They're all plastic and they're never flat and straight, they're wavy. So if you're reading this, get your factory dash repaired, it's the only way it will look good. A qualified pro can fill in the cracks, then stretch new vinyl over it with no seams. If they say you'll have seams, they're not qualified, so take it to someone else. There's people who can stretch the vinyl with no seams.

      Thanks for the tip👍🏼!! if I was completely restore in this truck then I would go to that extent. My truck is very much driver condition. I just wanted to be sanitary looking. Good to know that there are options. Take care

    If you were to do it again, would you buy 3 tubes of clear silicone or use the 3m tape? Looking at doing this for myself...

    • @zmurray9499

      2 tubes should do and three 3inch long pieces of double sided tape. I would put them close to the front edge(glass side) pass side, drivers and middle. Be careful because that 3M tape is very sticky. And obviously don’t put the silicone close to the tape. Good luck

    Any updates on the cover? I see a year ago you said it doesn’t sit in the sun and it’s already warping..mine doesn’t sit in the sun much but I do not want to have to worry about it lol would you recommend a cover or saving and splurging for the new pad?

    • @zmurray9499
      @zmurray9499  Год назад

      Mine hasn’t worked or done anything funny. If you have a show truck then save up and splurge. My truck is not perfect and gets used as a truck. I am happy if the dash is sanitary looking, Not perfect. I’ve never had anybody notice it’s a cover.

    What kind of glue did you use for it

    • @zmurray9499
      @zmurray9499  Год назад

      I believe it was some sort of 3M weatherstrip type adhesive. It was supplied with the cover. I would get two tubes, I would feel better about the install if it had more glue.
