    I can’t believe after this video will have sat through almost 10 hours of Alan Wake 2 discussion… no regerts 👍🏾
    I too was disappointed by the NG+ only because I thought the Deja vu would allow to skip dialogue since Saga would have felt she’d heard it before and I COULDN’T FINISH MY CASE BOARDS!!
    Words of Power also don’t have a checklist
    The manuscript to me is saying that Ahti is stronger than the power of the lake which is shown by how he dumps the lake water on the floor where you switch between the two and he says as much when Alan is about to go in the writers room in the nursing home. He created the portals.
    “It’s not a lake, it’s an Ocean”
    “It’s not a loop, it’s a spiral”
    “Diving deep to the surface”
    TO me, that’s the description of a vortex! Look at the animation moving between both sides.
    I think the Anderson’s didn’t mention Mr.Door was Saga’s father because they said Tom/Alan told them not to say too much about it. Which if you think about it, the Alan WE know hasn’t had a full conversation with them yet so it must be an Alan from the future part of the spiral 🌀 also they stayed there because they can be immortal since time is meaningless in the Dark place. The young versions of themselves on the talk show is the old versions made young again in the future.
    The way Alan mentioned “master of many worlds” for some reason, reminded me of the Oppenheimer quote“I am become destroyer of worlds”
    Last thing, you get that word of power on the side of the hotel from the street level.

    Darling says in the second clip when he meets Zane that is day 665, so if we line that up with when he disappeared in Control, that would place the time of the recording around the AWE DLC, when Jesse saw Alan and Zane in the Oceanview Motel.

    Yeah no, I have a feeling that that scene from Initiation where Sam Lake’s tied up in the film storage room and you grab a knife and chase him is just every Remedyverse fan’s intrusive desire when you ask the question “Who Is Thomas Zane?”

    Did you guys ever notice that the Zane scene in AWE and the Room 665 party scene are mirrors of each other? From the dialogue of Tom describing himself as an auteur, to the spiral in the background, to Tom being scared off by Darling on the TV, and even just the general conversation between them is similar. Watch them back to back and you'll see it. Not sure what to make of that, but something to ponder.

    also similar to what i think Jordan mentioned in another video about Ahti getting the lamp to Alan, the Andersons say the puddle in the fountain that transports Saga was placed there by Ahti

    The initial monologue, from "A fictional poet.." onwards, it's all new. All of it. It"s not the ending monologue. There're bits of dialogue in certain events and conversations that are also new. Like for example, Alan's first phone call: he adds two voice over lines to the original audio that mention him kind of remembering the call. Saga, too does the same at least one time when talking with Casey at the begining.

    "What you leave behind, you find in front of you" is another Finnish proverb "Minkä taakseen jättää, sen edestään löytää", can or could be translated to "what goes around comes around" but since Ahti speaks broken English and translates Finnish literally word for word, the translation gets muddled.

    @43:55 Not sure if you bring this up later in the video, but the new photo, the spark of light, is actually highly significant. If you look in your inventory, where you can see your keys, screwdriver, boltcutters, etc., on the second tab from your guns and ammo, the description of the photo says: "You still need to go through the loop."
    The photo shows the exact moment after Alan has been shot with the bullet of light. The junction where the cycle begins and ends.
    The way I interpreted it is that the spark of light is what triggers Alan to awaken next to Saga & Casey and break the cycle at the end.

    Yeah I was hoping for more. I wanted the final draft to go more meta with them being aware that the story was repeating. Also, I still haven't gotten to read the all the new manuscripts because of the crossbow bug. I hope they fix that soon.

      Well they are, because they explicitly talk about having done things before. Wake and Saga acknowledge that they have been in the writer's room together in that exact same situation before. Other characters acknowledge that this is the second time.

    Finished Final Draft last night and really enjoyed it. It was very worth playing. The value is more than just the new stuff. Just seeing the same content you saw before but with new insight and understanding really opens the story up.
    It all made a lot more sense to me in the second time through. They have mostly been the same content, but it frequently had new meaning. I had many "wow" moments when things that didn't seem important the first time were given new significance, and dots that I didn't connect before suddenly connected.
    And the new content is not as substantial as I had hoped, but still really good. Were the various inserts of Alice's hand helping at the end of the game in the first playthrough? Even if they were, that's one example of how playing through the game again gave new importance and meaning to things.
    I also really liked the clever way that the game made NG+ part of the story. Your second playthrough is literally part of the loop. Characters talk about doing things again. It's clever.

    I think Alan might just be another version of Tom. On some level it feels like the spiral started from Tom.
    “History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” - Tom the Poet probably.

  • @Keyh

    Darling and Zane are attempting to escape the Dark Place by "playing the part" as "actors" of Alan Wake.
    Zane changed himself from a poet to a film maker/actor in order to try to create a story in which Zane "plays" Alan in a work of fiction which is his plan to escape. Darling is voicing him to attempt to leave as well (hence Darling and Alan being the same VA).
    That is alao why people outside of the story (e.g. Ahti, Tor, and Odin) call him "Tom", because they see through the charade and are basically calling him by his "actor" instead of the character being played.

    • @kewlbot
      @kewlbot 7 месяцев назад

      this is what i've been thinking too. Alan is basically an avatar for Zane which is why everyone just calls him Tom

    • @novachikun
      @novachikun 7 месяцев назад +1

      Nah bro, you're not getting what's going on with Zane.
      1) Zane doesn't really give a damn about escaping the Dark Place. He loves it there and the power he has access to. He tells other stranded people that he would like to "team up" because he wants to deceive them and manipulate them to create his insane dramas. That's what he did to Alan, and probably what he is going to do to Darling. He probably would have done it to Tim, but once he found out Tim was a cop, Zane bounced.
      2) The original Tom Zane was The Poet. The Filmmaker version is an impostor. Tor and Odin Anderson, Jesse Faden, Cynthia Weaver, and Dr. Hartman all remember that Zane was a poet and not a Filmmaker. So this is a sign that the Filmmaker is changing things for his own gain.

  • @tristanandrews651

    Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but about the Tom the Poet/Diver/Director question. Alan quotes that same poem as Jesse in the opening of the Final Draft, but he says “a fictional poet once said…” Still doesn’t completely answer anything, but leans more toward the Diver just being a character. If it really is Alan narrating from some point in the future, it feels a little more conclusive coming from the “master of many worlds”. But nothing is simple with the Remedy Universe so who knows? 😂

    42:36 I think Jessie remembers The Poet version of Thomas Zane, because she gained Polaris in 2002, before reality altered. Then Polaris protected her from story's alterations, that's why she doesn't know tha Tom is now the Filmmaker. Just like Saga she is immune, but not from the beginning.

    My biggest issue with new game plus is that you can’t open the lighthouse because the crossbow cult stash is bugged and it won’t let me get all the cult stashes in one play through…I didn’t get it the first play through because I figured I’d do it in NG+…they need to fix this!

    I see the spiral as Alan's character progression because each time he loops around, he remembers more. I think what Ahti meant is that even when Alan 'dies', he comes back retaining more from his last journey.

  • @lexradu

    I see 2 possibilities with Darling and Zane.
    1. Darling put out the hypothesis of an Artist in the dark place, and the Artist he summoned was a version of Alan being cast as Tom Zane, and this is Zane the Filmmaker, not the real Zane.
    2. This is the real Zane who was eavesdropping on Dr Darling, they started comparing notes, Darling's science with Zane's Storytelling, and they couldn't but notice that Saga not only got Alan out through an overlap, but she did so at a different point in time in the past than when the actual summuning ritual happened, and then it clicked.
    They merged together Zane's Body with Darling's soul, and they wrote themselves an overlap where they are born in the real world in the 70s as the one who would one day be the writer Alan Wake, so that when Saga summons Alan out in 2023, they would finally be out, and once again split back in 2 people, hence why Darling seems to be again in the real world in the lake house DLC.
    So I'm expecting Alan by the end of the DLC realizes who they are, Alan ceases to exist, and in his place show up Darling and Zane, each with their body and soul back.

    • @lexradu
      @lexradu 7 месяцев назад

      Or even better, if Alan is The Herald of Darkness, and Jesse is The Champion of Light, Alan's death and defeat releases Darling in the present day, and Zane back to his time, with knowledge of their time as Alan, which is how he was able to make Nightless Nights about Alan before Alan...they were born.

    • @lexradu
      @lexradu 7 месяцев назад +2

      And this is why Ahti calls them Tom, because it's Tom, and the reason he helps them, is because his friend from FBC Darling is there as well.
      Ahti specifically tells Alan that "a man's a man, but a man with a tool makes 2, Tom" he is 2 people in one.

    this game unfortunately ended up a product that involve SBI involvement, lol. so my theory was right after all , saga anderson race swapping idea and female power narrative was not just a coincidence, more like the idea of "external assistance" claimed by SBI consultant kim belair , kyle rowley is denying though and it's laughable. more and more SBI info will be leaked , it's getting more interesting😄. i'm not enjoying the game at all after 30 hours of playthrough, i felt something wrong about the narrative and combat. the narrative is not straight forward for the revealing of the alan wake's mystery, it is surrounded too much around saga anderson that add literally little to nothing to improve the story-telling, people was coming alan's mysteries after all, not some tour of waman fantasy wet dream that's irrelevant to the plot most of the time. i've never touch it again even after the new ending , never. the ever confusing and agenda narrative + infuriating combat design , just nope. you have to at least put out a good gameplay if you wanna push a DEI agenda , this game failed unfortunately. i have played the alan wake with janky combat several playthrough because it still has come charm in it , but it's the first time the charming sequel managed to let me put the game down and never came back. the janky optimization was a factor too. i have 0 expectation for remedy's future game since SBI consultant was actively involved with remedy development , perhaps even earlier before the alan wake 2 development given the leaked info of alan wake 2. i have 0 respect to the game that's having SBI involvement , they're nothing but a bigot to force their agenda to the game and trying to cancel everyone that opposed to them, it's crazy to work with these cult.
