Thank you! Removing the battery cables helped. I agree with everyone else, Nissan sucks!! I betrayed my Honda and can’t wait to go back!!

I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra and my radio delays to turn on when turning on vehicle at random times. I took it to the dealership twice and I got my radio replace those two times. Issue is still going on. Nissan have issues with their technology.

Jose Luis Arteaga how much did they charge you?

    • @joseluisarteaga1681

Charell Albert the dealer did not charge me because vehicle is under warranty. The last time I took it in, Nissan couldnt identify the problem, so my radio still delays to turn on at random times.

I'm having the same issues with my Nissan Altima 2014 SL. I just left the dealership where they said there's nothing we can do. Oh they did offer a solution, they said I can purchase a new radio for over $2000 and that should fix the problem.

Sorry that you having this issue. Try holding down the power button, I am thinking this might be what is needed for a soft reset, if not google Nissan Altima Radio Soft REset. This is not the only issue that we have had with our Rogue as the ECM (Engine Control Module) was replaced in the first 6 months. I also had to deal with Corporate to have a windshield replaced as it cracked from the INSIDE shortly after they had been working on the ECM. I did have to contact corporate through the form on this page (www.nissanusa.com/apps/contactus). Both times I have done so I received phone calls and they were very happy to assist. It took working through them to get the windshield replaced.
I am guessing that your Altima is out of warranty at this point? Have you checked all of the service bulletins / manufacturer communications for your vehicle on the NHTSA. You have to dig for them but these can be used to have items fixed. They are not recalls so they are not published however they are where the company has admitted to issues. This link 'might' get you there for your vehicle.

I think there is an update for that radio software but meanwhile you can press and hold the power button for about five seconds until the nissan logo appears that should reset your radio let's see if that works for you

Hi mohsin981. This was an issue that happen 2 years ago. The holding of power button did not work at that time. It took disconnecting the battery for an extended period to reset each time it happened. There had been a head unit as well as software update and as soon as the dealership called their corporate contact they were told within 5 minutes into the conversation to order a new unit.

This worked for us! Turned the car off, took the key out, pressed the on/off button for several seconds, it powered up and the radio started playing. Go figure! Thanks for providing the answer. This happened after we finished listening to an audiobook...

I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue. Its audio was working perfectly until this afternoon. But unfortunately it was disconnected when I took it to go for a ride. I did the press and hold the power button solution which I have read from here and my audio started to work. THANK YOU ALL.

Hi bro, I got a Nissan Rogue Sport 2019 and the Radio buttons don't light up, Do you know by any change what may be happening or if it's a fuse that is not working

Some of the newer cars require the seatbelt to be connected before sound comes back. It’s like their petty way of reminding you to wear your seatbelt. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good to know but this was 100% a head unit issue. They replaced and did additional testing on the original and found software issues.

    Might be a fuse

Radio is a piece of shit! I hate it! I have a 15. Top right corner pushes in so they replaced it, still same issue. And I have issues like yours as elk as many others all of the time with the pile of jink

I agree, we have had numerous issues with the electronics. I would have thought by the '15 they would have most of them resolved. I know in '14 they made a lot of updates and knew this going into the purchase. Just wait until you have purchase front brakes. If you do not have the 3rd Row Seat Package they are hard to find. I ended up purchasing the pads from the dealer this weekend and installing myself to the tune of $104 before I got them to knock 10% off. This was just the pads, no shims or clips.

The head unit was replaced by Nissan. Didn’t have any issues after it was replaced.

I held the volume push button until the Nissan logo appeared. It worked for me

My Sentra was in the shop and they where running diagnostics and I guess they did some resets on the car and the radio did not work and did not noticed when I drove off. What I did, without stepping on the brake pedal just turning on the car accessories by pressing the start and holding the radio power button until the Nissan logo went away for about like about 5 secs and it works. My guess its a soft reset!

@@JoseTorres-sl1xp on this unit there was a few buttons you had to hold down simultaneously until it rebooted however that wouldn’t fix issue.

zZclutcher ZTV The dealership replaces the entire entertainment head unit. Once we showed them the video, they called corporate and after 20-30 minutes in the phone describing the video they were told to order a new unit and install.
