    Congratulations to you and Sam! What a wonderful place to exchange your vows. Also, when we were campground hosts at Cook Forest, they told us that new bath houses are being built in 2025.

    What a difference a few days makes. I was up in Clarion the weekend before, and had to trudge through 8 inches of snow!
    I’m definitely up for an overnight kayaking or canoeing trip. I know you can rent canoes up there, and I think that would be our best option.
    You had an awesome 2024, I’m not sure how you’ll be able to top it in 2025, but who knows!
    Good stuff as always!
    P.S. Sheetz FTW!

      Really? That's pretty insane ha, and yeah I think that would be a fun trip to do. I'll start drawing something up and let ya know! We could probably park at both ends and do that....and yeah I don't I'll ever top 2024!

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The CCC really had a huge impact on the development of the parks, I'll be releasing a quick cabin tour probably this weekend as well showing you around the old CCC cabins.

    I remember my first time seeing the Milky Way. It was about 30 years ago in the Quehanna Wild Area. It was truly amazing to see. I'm glad you pointed out that you don't have to travel to Cherry Springs to see it.
    Congrats again to you and Sam! Best wishes for 2025!

      These convos are always fun to have, I love teaching others about the outdoors. I remember seeing the Milky Way for the first time when I was younger and thought it was just a big cloud for the longest time lol...thanks for stopping by Troy! See ya on the next one!

    Get a canoe! Way more versatile than a kayak for river tripping. I recommend a used Old Town, Mad River or Wenonah made of Royalex.

    • @MaksimOutdoors
      @MaksimOutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      A canoe would be awesome but I just wouldn't want to haul it around everywhere which is why im leaning more towards kayak, maybe I'll just rent for now. Thanks for the advice Scott!

    I am looking forward to seeing the videos of your trip coming home after the wedding. I enjoyed your content from 2024. Thanks for making a huge effort in creating them I know they are time consuming. I don't know how you all manage to hike , talk and hold a camera while showing some fabulous scenery.I love the CCC cabins. That is the best time to stay at the cabins no one around . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Would you mind sharing what your job is or if not that is ok too.

      I can't wait to share the wedding roadtrip with everyone, hopefully folks don't get burned out from it though considering its going to be a lengthy series, thanks for the kind comment Cathy, 2024 will be a tough one to beat! Merry Christmas! I work for a lab!

    You had quite the year. 2024 was a pretty fantastic year for me too. I find it hilarious that you live in Pittsburgh and hate the Steelers. As an Eagles fan that warms my heart. I will look forward to your adventures in 2025. Also as an easter PA. Wawa all the way.

      You've done quite a lot in 2024 as well I seen! But yeah 2024 will be a tough one to beat that's for sure. And yeah, as for the Steelers ever since I made this video they are 0-2 so I guess I can take some credit for that lol....gotcha entered!

    My experience from my years is to buy the bike and rent a canoe, kayak, or raft. This has worked well for me and my friends. I suppose it depends on what you plan on doing the most. There are bike trails and rail trails everywhere. AND maybe a bike for Sam also. Just my 2 cents.
    I'm going to envy you taking that New England road trip. I lived in N.H. for 5 years in the 1970s, and it is beautiful up there!

    • @MaksimOutdoors
      @MaksimOutdoors  Месяц назад

      Great thinking Dennis, thanks for adding your two cents to the convo! A few others have recommended using a canoe vs a kayak and I am starting to agree with them, plus I really don't feel like hauling a canoe around so renting might be the best option...Id like to get into some bike packing down the road but there are still so many trails I wanna do! Thanks again!

    Congrats on an outstanding 2024! You deserve all the growth you're receiving. Cheers!! I know I'm a little late with this but let's go team Sheetz!!
    I would recommend a kayak over a bike, personally. I have both and find myself drawn more to kayaking than biking at this point in my life. If you like to fish, a kayak opens up opportunities on creeks, rivers, and lakes.
    One last question; will the Pens make the playoffs or should we accept that they're in the throws of a deep rebuild? Let's go Pens!!!

    • @MaksimOutdoors
      @MaksimOutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      As always Bruce thanks for the constant support, folks like you are the reason I go out and do the things I do! I'll add you to the giveaway! The kayak vs bike thing is pretty intriguing to me, im still torn on what I want to do haha...if only things weren't so expensive. As for the Pens...I think they are well overdue to do a proper rebuild. If anything they'll slightly miss the playoffs or be a first round exit. Hopefully im wrong!

    Thank you for this video, Bill. I started going to Clear Creek with my parents in 1976. I honeymooned there with my wife in 1984. Over the years I have instilled a love for the place in my own children. You did a wonderful job in showing what the place has to offer. I only wish you had walked down through the hemlocks that line the road by the amphitheater as when I pass between those pines, I know I am “home”. Oh, and I have to agree with you on the Cook Forest / Caledonia facility extremes. Keep on hiking. Keep on filming. Maybe we’ll cross paths someday.

      I was thinking about you while I was exploring around, I think I did a pretty solid job for not really having a gameplan. I have another episode next week that'll show a little of the Irish Rock Trail so you should enjoy that I think! Thanks for all the kind words and support and I can totally see why you love this park so much!
