I wonder why I never gave her a chance before. She's the best act from this decade I've ever heard and most definitely one of the best Swedish artists ever. She's quite known in Sweden, but she seems way too overlooked internationally (and even in Sweden).
Epic performance from a adventurous, young woman (from Gothenberg) and her band. Thank you KEXP for having them on. Anna von Hausswolff has composed much since this performance (Ceremony), specifically her powerful "Dead Magic", and it would be wonderful if you could have her/them on again.
I'm a metalhead and AVH's music appeals to me because it's dark & doomladen and massively heavy. I think there's a great deal of beauty in emotionally 'dark' music and AVH does it so well. Really looking forward to the new record coming out in March.
Such a gifted artist and talented group. The drummer had his own flair, but his expressions certainly contributed to the feel and d emotion of the songs.
what a voice! dreamy pieces as well. good luck, AvH band. keep the emotion. you all look like you enjoy the pieces so much and that is going to take you places.
I don't know how many times i listened to this particular record, the pleasure this music gives me is so intense it should be prohibited!!! god bless Anna
This must be one of the weirdest shows I ever watched. Whole group is so hypnotic to watch, well.. music was not just my taste, but really captive and interesting. All the best, we need band like these.
Me ha gustado mucho. Por supuesto que tienen influencias como todos los músicos, fotógrafos, pintores ... Es cierto que hay un resurgimiento de la época dorada del rock progresivo. En cine... no it doesn't, you proved how bad your taste is by thinking pink floyd is acutally good, pro tip, bands existed like pink floyd before pink floyd was a thing, same with the beetles, get real, get wrekt and stop being salty,
I have to add something to my comment from before. She sings like Cindy Lauper, but I think that she here is much better as the famous star. Cindy Lauper had only her voice and some medium good songs. Anna seems to explode for the lust of sining and she have a very good feeling for melodies that match her voice. I am really impressed ...

@@emmecee6273 by the type of music Anna produces, I assume that it's quite obvious that she heard a lot of 4AD, ECM and Mute Records stuff, Can, Swans, Nico, Diamanda Galás, Wire, Siouxsie, prog rock, early Peter Gabriel and, yes, Kate Bush. A lot.
Not to be rude but the interviewer was pretty awkward at interviewing her. However, she is amazing!!!! So glad KEXP featured her as I hadn't heard of her before, I will be seeking out her album soon.
A little nervous but awkward, no. She held her composure well. It is not easy to speak English with native English speakers after a long break from doing so. You get a bit nervous. When you add the fact that you know you are being filmed and recorded then it is a bit scarier. She did well. The interviewer probably felt how nervous she was and tried to quickly rephrase his questioning to fit the situation. Still professional result from both ends. All very typical of an up and coming talent. Heart-felt music from a sweet girl. Her father is making very curious experimental music. Not surprised his daughter would be a musician herself.
This is another first for me. It's like a combination of electronic thrown in with some wicked guitar. I have to disagree with some of the comments though. Anna's voice is nothing like Kate Bush. Kate is in a class of her own. There is also no comparison to Pink Floyd. Anna's voice is sweet and their music is catchy. They have a long way to go yet.
this has less to do with this video in particular than the trendiness of a band I used to like: namely Ghost, not only has their music became more uninteresting lately , I see them everywhere, as if it is a MUST to appreciate Ghost - I can sense "Pope Hipsteritus IV" coming soon ...
