Course Description: In this course, you will learn how to plan structure with respect to architectural planning and as per codal provisions of Indian Standard codes then you will learn how to use IS Codes to calculate the loads on the structure and modelling and analysis of building structure in computer software ETABS, and most importantly you will go through the design procedure of each type of structural element manually as well as with the help of MS Excel Sheets and at last how to detail your structural sections and preparation of drawings for Construction-Site Execution purpose.

Sir load is acting vertically downward on the beam so bending is about major axis , so we should release major axis moment....... Sir why did you released moment in minor axis and torsion????
it is a general consulting practice...
During release of torsion and moments in secondary beam, how would you know which is start point and end point
left side is start and right side is end
bottom is start and top is end
In the case secondary beam supported between two primarary beams.. can we realease torsion at both ends or not.. while giving it appear some warning.. !! Can not realase torsion at both ends of frame object
Because its practical, Torsion will not be fully release... so software will shown error... in that case you can release torsion at one end and moment at both.... and appropriate detailing should be made... otherwise don't provide releases....
@@AkshayThakur thank you❤️
how to identify the start and end point of beam....and can you explain briefly about the moment release concept...
for start and end point; notice for different beams in the video ... you will get this ...
Secondary Beams transfer Shear Force to the connection at Primary Beam so at that point moment is not transfer so that we need to release it .... as stated in video ...
Sir,
Iam using etabs trial version,
Asign option is not working in it
make sure, first select the members then assign the load it will work....
How to find the start point and end point of the beam?
observe the releases in the plan you will get that... from which direction...
why beam can bi release one side not other side ???
beacuse, we need to release moment at the end (this is mechanics that what really happen, beam transfer shear force at that point not moment) hence we need to to release moment
In this model, secondary beam is either continous or only one end on primary and other on secondary (in this case we do not provide releases at mid junction, but only at end ...)
for the secondary beam supported in between two primary beam in that case we need to release moment at both ends
watch it again, carefully you will get the concept ...

* Vercical dash lines are Primary beams, Horizontal line is secondary beam (not continuous). What would be in this case?? Where to apply releases (at start or end)??
moment release at both and torsion at one....
Note:
1. If your are providing releases then appropriate detailing should be followed i.e., nothing but side face reinforcements, etc. otherwise for RCC do not apply the releases for secondary and tertiary beams...
2. Torsion is not release fully, if you do that then ETABS will shown you error... i.e., torsion at both end cannit be release...
3. Releases play a crucial role in steel structures not alot in RCC...
@@AkshayThakur Got it dear. I released moment at both end and torsion at end point.
For detailing you said, it has to be clearly mentioned.
My asking is that, don't the CSI detailing will provide the necessary reinforcement drawings for those points, when i put the etabs file in CSI details??
@@manojheartthrob I taught detailing for manual procedure.... no doubt software will consider things that you input.... just to tell you the difference made in releases application so.... manual detailing is prefered in real practice than software detailing because provison and control over reinforcement as per analysis is in full control so, I taught....
@@AkshayThakur Right you said. Regarding your teaching with manual calculations i must say its the best in class in the net . I mostly like your to the point explanation and step by step follow ups with IS codes. Lots of respect and love
whay release beam only one side
beacause in this model, secondary beam is either continous or only case of one end on primary and other on secondary
in this case we don't provide releases at mid junctions, but only at end point
hence, releases for moment provide on end points only
