This seems to be becoming a bigger issue than it ever was and there’s two sides to this. Some of the big drivers don’t take to guessing the light which is what happened here, it’s not against the rules but it’s something that used to be a gentleman’s agreement. Been a lot of talk about trying to fix it so you can’t guess but some are very good at it and at the end of the day no rule has been broken. Do I agree with it though? Probably not but doesn’t mean I’m right. What I didn’t like about this carry on was the way Jerry carried on, he knows he guessed it but kept suggesting he was racing clean when I’ve seen him actually crack the shits himself when he gets screwed by others plying the rules. I absolutely don’t like jerry bird but it’s not hard to figure out the timing on a tree that goes from the staging lights to green. Just because the middle bulbs don’t light up don’t mean the tree is going green at a different time. The dudes that get mad at someone for “guessing the light” are mad they can’t time it without the other lights there

if you watch it, blue cars lane definitely went green before the other lane. and yes, the blue car was in motion before the light changed.
All boosted needs to do is change the rules a lilbit, if you leave before the instant green light comes on just like you do with flashlight start, you jump or your tire cracks, your automatically DQ. Jumping Problem solved

are you saying Bird jumped? He guessed the light & guessed correctly. They use the tree as seen in this video... if he jumped it would have lit the red light, which he did not.
Good thing about using the tree is that it takes out the need for a tire crack camera or any need to review tape on the starting line.

Bird didn't jump. The tree had a huge delay. Birds light turned green before Dave's staging lights cleared. Not defending that jackass, but they should've caught that and ran it back.
Check frames 25,6 &7 in that video,, he jumped.. front drivers tire is clearly off of the ground before the green turned on
What constitutes a jump(I do not know the rules)? His car clearly started moving forward before the light went green.
Not sure what was negotiated before but they can purposely delay lights. Do it all the time in bracket racing. So maybe that was what they agreed on cause he did say he won’t race straight up. Guessing he asked for a second or two delay and now he’s running his mouth like he was faster. lol.

Aren't the lights controlled by lazers? The wheels were spinning before the light, but maybe the car didn't move enough to trip the red light. It's legal if they are going by what the lights say.

This seems to be becoming a bigger issue than it ever was and there’s two sides to this. Some of the big drivers don’t take to guessing the light which is what happened here, it’s not against the rules but it’s something that used to be a gentleman’s agreement. Been a lot of talk about trying to fix it so you can’t guess but some are very good at it and at the end of the day no rule has been broken. Do I agree with it though? Probably not but doesn’t mean I’m right. What I didn’t like about this carry on was the way Jerry carried on, he knows he guessed it but kept suggesting he was racing clean when I’ve seen him actually crack the shits himself when he gets screwed by others plying the rules. He should have just said yep I did but I won, Dave should have just congratulate him (he sort of did) and pay him back next time they meet

@@butchgreenfield1238 yeah but no matter how hard a human try’s to time the release of the light button it will almost never be released at the same time. The natural human error here would keep people more honest at the light because literally the light would drop with enough variation to make it a lot harder to guess the light.
