My all time favorite singer. I’m 70 now and have great memories of seeing Sylvester many, many times. He lived in The Castro and I’d see him even at the grocery store. Sundays he and Two Tons of Fun would play at The Elephant Walk in the Castro every Sunday afternoons for a dollar door charge. He’d also appear at after hours clubs where he usually wouldn’t come on until 3am. All of his songs bring back great memories of those wild, drug fueled disco days. Of course sober now. Thanks for the video. 🌈
I rank this up there with Donna Summers I Feel Love as one of the most important and influential songs of dance music. Truly pioneering. I wasn’t alive in the disco era, but when I play this, I close my eyes and I feel magically transported back to that amazing era and I dance with wild abandon. I am free. Ahh, the power of music. “Do You Wanna Funk” is also another great one by Sylvester.
Bless your heart. I was there in the original days. I would love for you to have experienced those days too. The memories will be with me to the grave. Thank you for your appreciation and the effect this music has on you. Your generation is keeping mine alive and continuing the era that was.
@@RK-um9tu Sweety, bless your heart if you didn't dance to "I Feel Love." No, it wasn't high energy like Donna's others, but if you danced it right it could be very intimate and VERY dirty.

It's been years since I saw that video. Sylvester was a trail blazer who's voice was a marvel to listen to. The backing track was primarily created by Patrick Cowley, who was a trail blazer as well, who would also supply Sylvester with a handful of dance classics, including "Do You Wanna Funk". We lost both of them way too soon, but their legacy continues with new fans
Fun fact. Martha Wash, another gay icon known for It's Raining Men and Everybody Dance Now is one of the backing vocalists on many of Sylvester's songs
Yes, her and the other lady went by the name “Two Tons Of Fun” when they were with Sylvester. When they became they’re own group, the record company didn’t think the name would work so they changed it to The Weather Girls.
You wouldn't believe the magic of being on the dance floor in 1978 dancing to this song -- the people, the beat, the lights -- simply fabulous!! Wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
My God, this song was HUGE back in the day. It was played over and over and over, and it never got old. It was a revelation, and I don’t use that word lightly, or often.
Patrick Cowley produced many great dance/disco hits including this song. His Megatone Records featured many songs by Cowley including "Megatron Man", "Mind Warp" and other collaborations with Sylvester "Do You Wanna Funk" and Paul Parker "Right On Target". These songs were a house fixture at all the gay bars across America. Afternoons drinking and hearing the songs of Megatone Records in the background brings back lots of memories. Give songs of Patrick Cowley a listen.
This is one of my all time favorite retro disco tunes. You’re right, this song just makes you want to move. The rhythm, the beat is just over the top good! And I love Sylvester’s unique and distinct voice. I never had the great fortune to dance to this amazing song at the clubs, but how fun that would have been! I have this song downloaded on my phone and it’s great motivation when I’m exercising. Thanks for the fun reaction! Stay safe! Cheers! 🙂

I love this song, there is a 10 minute extended version too, this song was an inspiration for one of my songs on my new album, the high energy disco really is special. Also, Kylie Minogue's sister Dannii released a song in 2007 called Touch Me Like That and it uses the melody of this song, she said You Make Me Feel is one of her favorite songs too.

Please do more reviews of Bronski Beat & Communards with Jimmy Somerville. Why from Bronskyi Beat is a good continuation of your Pride music reviews. Thanks.
I love this song Never Can Say Goodbye by the Communards. Another great dance floor song that will give you goosebumps! :)
@@kcc7237 Might as well discover Gloria Gaynor's 1974 original too.

Why communards? Let’s stick with the originals/main covers.
Awesome music of the 70's
React to Sylvester & 2 Tons of Fun: "Disco Heat". On audio only u could hear the correct way the song is sung. Also "Do You Wanna Funk" uploaded by Jesus Pina.
Love him, people accepted him, his clothes his voice and he was one of us, they accepted Boy George just a few years later, no we don't have music like this anymore and you wouldn't see a guy dressed like that and sounding like that in 2020, such a shame
Love Sylvester
I love watching your eargasms! uffff
