Basically, what happened was you cracked open the now-defunct rear door (that was still connected to the lift's logic). Then, the safety circuit is opened and the lift shuts down. Some lifts reset once the safety circuit is reconnected, while other lifts require the fire brigade/lift engineer to reset it for you.
That was so hard, never go yourself on elevator that you might stuck because reconnected from firefighters arrived the trying to call headphones again A few moments ago.... Then firefighters that moving on the key given to safety from this elevator few 2 hours 23 minutes 34 seconds now the firefighters now opened from elevators hatch.
I have terrible panic attacks and I absolutely HATE elevators, especially these outdoor 2-floor garage elevators. They never feel safe and seem exceptionally slow. I'm panicking just watching this LOL.

My son was going to have a blood test in NHS hospital cause we went to the car park at 5th floor, he was scared cause he doesn't like to be stuck, if it's stuck, he's gonna get freaked out and said '' no this can't be god damn it, HELP ME!!'' that's when he hates elevator.

Yeah , if they had to get you through roof extrication it meant that there was a physical failure with the car itself, and fire service mode wasn’t gonna work to get you out, all electronic abilities to move the car were inoperable. The only way out was through physician extraction.

They really should’ve disabled the safety on that rear door if it wasn’t in use. It makes no sense to me why they would just leave it. I’ve had issues with a rear door 330A before. Dang controller.

I have ever been stuck in a lift aka I'm British but I have been locked in a multistorey car park for nearly 17 hours and the people who could open it and let us out were 2 mins away typical
Thankful to hear you’re safe. I typically like 400As (as well as other Schindler Tractions), but this is pathetic. I remember one time I was going up an Otis M2 Traction (Floor 1 to Floor 3), it had a delayed start and after passing floor 2 it jerked to a stop and canceled my call, (thankfully after I reselected my floor, it started back up only seconds later).
i remember in a hostel i got stuck in one it just went half way to my floor and then suddenly it just stopped. 5 minutes of nothing then the lift just started flying up and down for 20 minutes, it crashed somewhere with a loud bang and then constantly opening and closing the doors to a black nothing, it got to my floor doors wouldn't open for 10 minutes. Then i finally got out when it just slightly opened it's doors i pushed it open and jumped out of the lift. 😱🥶🥶🥶🥶 scariest moment of my freaking life!
I don’t know why this person would take the elevator again after being stuck🧐 I am glad this person got out safely but maybe it’s a sign not to take the elevator if you can just walk up.
Schindler is my least favorite elevator company. Part of the reason why is because I got stuck in a Schindler 330A HT hydraulic elevator a few years ago. I was stuck in there for 2 hours.

Once, me and my mom were at a hotel and we clicked the floor and it didnt go, and it wouldnt go up and the light on the button was on, but thankfully, my mom pressed the door open button and the doors opened, i have a crippling fear of elevators even before this, no matter where, i take stairs

Mostly because they're not maintained right like all brands will have break downs if they're not maintained. I've never been stuck in Schindlers at all.
Not sure if they've been red tagged but they need a lot of repairs because I believe these exact elevators have probably got other people stuck as well.
They might have redesigned the supermarket so that door was no longer useable. Somebody else mentioned that the QFC was not multistory, so it's likely the 2nd floor was removed, combining the first and second floors into one tall space for that supermarket. Then the former 2nd floor elevator entrance was sealed up for obvious reasons, and for some reason they decided to seal up the first floor entrance as well. And they decided to bolt a railing across the now defunct rear door in the elevator cars.

I was once at the CircusCircus in Las Vegas…while taking an elevator up, it stopped, seemed to slip down a few inches, which was chilling, and then opened the doors on the next floor and shut down. I told security and they blocked it off. I still have strange dreams about being on an old elevator that gives way a few inches. I would call them spooky dreams, but lacking the existential terror to qualify as nightmares (my nightmares I wouldn’t wish on anyone). I am not afraid of elevators but rather enjoy riding in scenic and interesting elevators such as funiculars, although parking garage elevators like this one are always unpleasant and even when clean have a nasty metallic odor.
That sucks that you had to climb out the hatch. I’ve been stuck in a couple elevators but I’ve never had to climb out the hatch. But still I’m very glad you eventually got out safe.
I have a trauma of being stuck in an elevator. I was stuck in a vacuum elevator for 8 hours. I almost blacked out and Jesus christ was it terrifying. My phone was already dead, the ringer button was destroyed. Nobody would hear me scream cuz it was a vacuum elevator. I talked to my self for the next 8 hours. Waited for someone to realize the elevator was stuck. Well yeah it was an old elevator and you could say why not just open it by raw strength? I was 10 years old at that time.
Schindlers finest I been stuck in 5 elevators since 2015 2 of them being Schindler RT and both those times the fire department came for us, both those times we were stuck for almost an hour because the fire department wasn’t call immediately and security tried to get us out but it didn’t work. I’ve seen so many Schindler elevators break recently.

I think after that the elevator had a Out of order sign on it what Im more annoyed is I believe this is due to POOR maintenance and expired inspection document
It was a Dover VR when I went up, the door clutched and I think is the safety break than I got stuck with the elevator technician for about few minutes it was quite a journey

This is why all elevators should have reset buttons inside the cab cuz there's a very good chance u might have tripped a safety sensor on the back door.

I know where this is, I used to work for QFC. I was at two different stores, and the company does a very lousy job keeping their stuff maintained.

It was possible that the door sensor for the rear door was activated when you put the arm near the door causing it to stop.
It shouldn’t be that sensitive though. Usually requires enough to disengage the gate switch.

I haven't really gotten stuck in an elevator yet. The only thing that happened was that the doors didn't open, but that was all.

Not all 400As are shit. There’s regular 400As that were installed in 2008. And they run just fine. It depends on how good they are maintained
