I like that Brenda made the decision not to go to the party. And her lucidity about the things that separate her and Dylan. Even in love, even with the risk of losing him, she does not lose herself. Brenda is a really good character. A girl who loves passionately but who respects herself.
The fact that Dylan chose the girl who went to the party with no regard for her feelings or boundaries or friendship with the other girl in the love triangle shows he didn’t really care about Brenda or Kelly. It was always about him.
He wanted to be with Kelly. He couldn't get her out of his head. Looking at Kelly all the time. Just didn't know what to do with Brenda. And the guilt.
I never liked Dylan & Kelly being together. But I accepted it. I did prefer Dylan & Brenda; and Brandon & Kelly. The real-life Jennie Garth said that she would never be with a girlfriend's ex. That goes along with what my ex-wife told me about the "unwritten code between women." She said that a woman should never get with a girlfriend or a relative's ex. I don't know if anybody else was troubled with Kelly's comment "I can't believe that Dylan and I are finally together!" What??!! Does that mean that she wanted Dylan even when he chose Brenda 1st??!! Lastly, I understand that a number of BH90210 fans were "Dylan & Kelly" fans. But many of them act like Dylan and Brenda never happened!!!
that's how i felt. i wasn't a fan of kelly/dylan, but i accepted it. i preferred dylan/brenda more and later dylan/toni. i was never a fan of him with kelly.
In the series finale (May 17, 2000) of Beverly Hills, 90210, Donna and David were married. Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) had reconnected romantically with Dylan McKay (Luke Perry). Sadly, The CW’s 90210 (5 Season Series began in 2008) found them separated, with Kelly raising their son, Sammy. Kelly was also working as a guidance counselor then, and raising her half-sister, Erin Silver, after their mother Jackie passed away.
Kelly was so dumb to think Dylan was 💯 for her. They were just lust. This is why Kelly was so insecure and unstable in that relationship. Dylan was a narcissistic jerk and if he had his choice, he would've had both Brenda and Kelly at the same time.
Gosh, Christine was just gorgeous. 1940s Hollywood gorgeous. I guess "I just need to finish my hair" was code for "I have to go call my contact at the CIA. Be right back".
Jackie catching Kelly coming home at 2 am ....😂but after! she'd let Kelly sleep over at Dylan's house sometimes.🤔And Kelly lied a bit to her mother - Dylan's father wasn't with them until 2 am. 😂
I was so annoyed with the Dylan/Kelly thing but I kept watching the show because I was hoping to see Brenda find another guy and become a famous actress, when she left, the show was meh and then they got Brandon with Kelly? Worst. Move. Ever.
Dylan/Brenda and Kelly/Brandon should’ve been end game. If Jason Priestly would’ve remained in the show I think it would’ve played out like that. I’ll admit there were times I enjoyed the drama though. Makes for good tv
Kelly did to Brenda what Mel did to Jackie, and yet neither Kelly nor Jackie seem to care about hurting Brenda. Kelly & Jackie are disgusting hypocrites.
It's impressing to watch Shannen Doherty's acting skills, like in the beginning of this scene. May mankind soon find a girl similar to her for TV and cinema.

Because he has been abandoned by both of them (he lives alone as a teenager in high school!). He does not at all have a typical relationship with them or a typical adolescent experience. Normally I would agree with you about the disrespect but in this situation, they get what they give.
I don't know... I feel like Jackie should have set up boundaries and rules against Kelly staying out that late with anyone. I get that Jackie hasn't been the most hands-on, restrictive parent for any of Kelly's life, but the way Kelly behaves is the result of a lot of parental neglect. But whatever.
absolutely agree. we have to remember the parents (outside of the walshes) were not really hands on parents. they had money and threw that at their kids and when they got into trouble, the money helped solve a lot of their problems, especially with steve. i did think jackie improved a little w/erin, and kelly tried to make sure erin had a better childhood than she did, but these parents weren't really there from the start.
I think Jackie wanted to keep the image of the cool mom that some teenage girls dream of... My mother would never have allowed me to sleep over at my boyfriend's like she did with Kelly, or come home so late.
@melainesiar-titeca4602 My mother would have rightfully murdered me for being that late coming home. Which I'm grateful for in retrospect. I'm glad she cared to teach me how to be a respectful adult instead of an entitled brat.

The show went downhill when Brenda and Dylan broke up, and they fired Shannon Doherty

He was definitely a narcissist.
