Dude I want a Velar so bad but peoples negative comments on the brand make me nervous about moving forward. I’m afraid I’m at the point where I’d offer to buy it as soon as I sit in it.

As long as you're within the warranty period, it shouldn't be a concern.

Lease only, never buy, specially if it's out of warranty. Can't afford to buy new and sell it when warranty expires or to lease it ? Stay away from it.

The velars are a little unreliable, that is partly because it is a Jaguar F-PACE with a different body. However most of the time people over exaggerate problems. They usually haven't owned one. Both my friends love their range rover sports. One is a 2019 V6 sport and the other is a 2017 V6 sport. The 2019 is well cared for and hasn't had any problems, whereas the 2017 was cheap and not cared for as much. But she still loves it, as it was her dream car. My advice is MAKE sure you can afford it, you can't go cheap. You have got to take car of range rovers, but trust me once you own one, you won't buy anything else 😂

@@tanks4lyfe509 the idea that you need to have money to buy a certain car is a given, however with Land Rover it’s brought to the extreme, there are cars who cost 50k as new but are reliable so you can buy them at 25k after 4 years (as I have done) and reach 200k km without a single problem.
There is a reason if the Land Rover CEO in 2021 admitted that their reliability problems cost them 100k sales a year.
That’s unheard of for almost any other car.

After my brand new Genesis suv completely shut off in the middle of the highway refusing to start I'll never buy another again...needed the fuel pump replaced which took months because the part was backordered due to so many failures, shortly after had it officially recalled, then replaced again -- horribly unsafe and customer support was awful the entire time.

The interior usability of the pre-facelift is vastly superior, but both drive superbly. It’s very stable at higher autobahn speed and is great in city too. The drivetrain in our current gen Defender doesn’t particularly enjoy sub 25 km stop and go; The velar with the hybrid system in particular, does make up for this and is more suitable for daily duty than many of land rovers offerings (though we do daily our defender 🤷🏻‍♂️). Plus they just look good. To me, the problem with this car is that the Range Rover sport exists, luckily if this is the one you can get want to get it is still surprisingly great.
