    do waist level finders ever have a built in meter?

      The cameras can have a meter, but the waist finder can’t (to my knowledge) have a meter built into the finder like a prism finder could. Some TLRs with waist level finders have a meter, but it is not though the lens meter. One camera you can use with a waist level finder that has a TTL meter is the Nikon F3, but I am sure there are others too, and most F3 users don’t use the waist level finder.

      No, only SLRs and TLRs that have a removable prism and waist level finder adapter.
