- I am opening two FOTL (1st/First Off The Line) hobby boxes of the new 2023/24 Panini Obsidian Basketball for our next collectible sports trading card pack unboxing/product review! These boxes have an SRP of $250 but resell in the mid $300 range (FOTL resells in the $600 range). Every box contains 1 7-card pack (12 box cases). Expect 2 autographs, 1 memorabilia jersey relic card, 2 inserts/parallels, and 2 base cards per box. FOTL boxes contain 1 exclusive autograph /27 or less (Electric Etch Blue, Blue Flood, Contra) and 1 exclusive parallel /16 or less. These boxes come with chances at pulling rare rookie cards of Victor Wembanyama, premium chrome rookie patch autograph cards (RPA) of the top players from the 2023 NBA Draft class in their NBA jerseys, new ultra-rare SSP Black Color Blast case-hit inserts, 1/1 Vibrant Mojo Prizms, various SP/SSP parallels (Neon, Purple, Blue, Green, Gold /10, new Deep Sea /5, Contra /3), rare SP case-hit inserts (Vitreous, Volcanix), various inserts (Hotspot, Supernova, Equinox, Orbital), prime/super prime mem cards (Unbreakable, Eclipse, Cutting Edge, Equinox Gear), autos of the NBA's top rookies/stars/legends/HOFers from multiple sets (Rookie Jersey Ink, Matrix Material, Magmatic Signatures, Galaxy, Twilight, Rookie Eruption, Volcanic), rare cards of Wemby, Luka Doncic, Brandon Miller, LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Scoot Henderson, Nikola Jokic, Keyonte George, Steph Curry, Ausar Thompson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Amen Thompson, & Dereck Lively II, and more! I watched like 6-7 case being opened this weekend and Didn't see one colorblast. this dude gets two of the best boxes i have seen even without the colorblast. crazy...

Just got back into collecting after 30 years and I was overwhelmed with all the inserts, parallels, and everything. Started watching this channel to help figure it all out...thanks for the lessons!
I took a long break too. A parallel as a kid was a great card, now it’s just so common. Still fun though but I’ve cut back

All the interest from the kiddos keeps me dropping money into the collection!

Do you have(or could you) do a video kind of ranking product from cheapest/least desirable to the more desirable when it comes to the hobby?
I used to always do end of year product rankings/recaps but panini was so backed up that the last set wouldn’t drop until a year or two after the collecting season is over. At that point, no one really wants to see rankings of 1-2 year old sets imo. Once sets are back on track, I’ll definitely bring them back!
@PackmanCards More so of generalization I guess of like what would you buy from most collectable/holds value/resells. Like Select < Prizm < Obsidian < Immaculate, etc... there's so many different variations it's hard to keep up with what is junk and what's high end. A general ranking of the products(in your opinion) like pre purchase. Hopefully that makes more sense, lol.

Here's the thing I don't get about FOTL... its like ye you get an auto /27 and a parallel /16 ... but these aren't rare cards... every single FOTL box has them.. it's like with Topps Flagship... if you hit something numbered its huge because it's rare... these aren't rare and I feel like FOTL values will tank soon as the cards will stop increasing. It's like with Bowman baseball... the gimmicky 800 colors of parallels are not desired.. it's the standard Blue Gold Orange Red that you want not freaking...lava, purple lave, cracked green ice , green , light green, puke green... you get the point.
