The expected return from retail boxes is quite literally somewhere around -90% lol
up to covid,id rip 100s of retail boxes.sold 100s of dollars worth of cards.then covid and u stop.80 dollars for a box of 12 cards.each had to be a hit,to just break even.50 years of the hobby just stop.
so whats the best way to get a return from card hunting? and what sport? baseball? basketball? football?

Usually how it is for us here in the Bay Area
Most stores are picked clean but I’ve been finding a good amount of stock at stores you would not expect for example Walgreens (usually behind the counter) and Lowe’s both sell baseball cards

Y’all are supposed to check the front. At all of the targets there is a row right next to the checkout line that has all of the cards. Pokemon, Sports, Yugioh, etc.

What? That's stupid, I have one piece cards that are psa 10's and they won't sell. People want it for $25- $30 at the shows. Not worth it....
@@bigcease2274 When retail is $4.49 a pack and the case hit is over $1300+ minimum on every set and the alt arts do $75+, I'd rather rip One Piece than any other retail product on the market including sports cards. Card Shows aren't the only place to sell cards and if your getting lowballed - that's not the place to be selling them.

I live in Oakland and you need to check the Barnes & Noble stores. They usually have their boxes behind the cash register.
When I was using Fetty. I would boost baseball cards for this dude that would buy each box for 20$ . I started wondering how he was able to pay me so good. So here I am now , clean trying to learn the ways....

Family Dollar has 5 card Panini Hoops packs with Yellow parallel guaranteed. Pulled a Wembie base tribute rookie, a bunch of relevant yellow RCs and a yellow Curry base off roughly $25. Should have just bought the whole gravity feed.
My best retail pull was from a degen rip from walgrens 7.99 baseball packs, i end up pulling vladdy gurrero jr rookie auto prizm /100!😂 i was losing my mind 😂

That first box of Prizm was crazy. You would have made better profit if that was the only box you had bought.
Did you try the Walmart in American Canyon? The last time I was there was several months ago, but at the time it was mostly baseball and football...so it's been a while.
Back in 2020 during COVID boom and when retail was cheaper. You could make profit ripping because even base lamelo rookie was selling for like a $25 for donruss and $100+ prizm.
You can find tons of cards at the cashier area
From what I hear is that monopoly prizm had its last cycle so good luck when finding it because the actual board game is where you’ll find the packs at

Me - that sold over 4,000 Topps Series 1 cards on Ebay - laughing at what you think those cards were going to sell for. The Heavy Lumber was the only card you'd make over $1 on. Stars of the MLB are inserts we give away to kids for free. Interesting on the Monopoly cards though. We have STACKS of them at Target here and no one buys them, but no baseball cards.

my targets and walmarts are stocked with boxes of sports cards.. they just sit… dont move.. there are even boxes from like 2022 on the shelf… I do not see any modern retail boxes worth the retail price.. i check ebay.. the last sold is like the price os the store price.. which means a 10 percent loss with ebay fees… I think card manufactures have a big problem with retail going forward unless they make some changes...

Tried flying into Canada. They're Meyers, has a 1000 foot long card area in Ontario. They sell all boxes for $5.I went up there and got ten thousand blaster boxes from one store

I went to target and they didn’t have them on shelf’s so I asked a guy and he looked in the back and brought me boxes I asked for 5 and got them

We to walmart yesterday it was stocked bought 2 megas and 4 blasters of prizm basketball pulled a wemby ice wemby silver and amen thompson silver
I bought 2 topps retail boxes 2024. I pulled foil Domingues, foil acuna and multiple Henry David. Second box was acuna 2024, volpe, Corbin carrol trophy and trout /999
So I ended up up +$55 lol. I’m going to see if I can trade those for Kobe, charizard, or jordan cards. Maybe some cash on top.

Pull an ebay listing at 45 with free shipping means about 35 after fees. Dont listen to that BS folks. They would make about $5 on these if they sold just the boxes.
Exactly I see that wemby card being sold on eBay from between 8 dollars to a couple of hundred. But that’s what it is being sold for not what someone actually bought it for.

You guyys are joking right ??? These Walmart's and target stores always got regular reseller come to buy. They know exactly what time and date vendor stock these sporting cards....If you are not lucky you come to exact date they stock their inventories. Mostly you guys have no chance to buy good boxes

Honestly this is these kind of videos is what demolish the card industry. These boxes used to be like $15 to $20... Prices have shot up because they're trying to stop this market right here. + F****** RUclipsrs card guys trying to sell them and what not sucks.. kids can't even afford this s*** anymore. You need to get a part-time job just to buy cards nowadays
Not sure if videos like this are hurting the card industry but, the card industry is in a weird place for sure. I agree they are priced too high for retail. The card makers have it so you spend crazy amounts ordering from them to try and get anything valuable but the mega dealers and all the other high dollar "collectors" buy them all up so fast and resell them. Plus CT scanning some boxes and keeping the good pulls and selling the other boxes to people that probably don't have as much money as them. It's BS
