- In this video I will show you how to use the AT&T Unlock Portal to Unlock your AT&T phone for Free if you meet their requirements. Basically your phone needs to have a clean IMEI,
To unlock your AT&T phone or tablet, you will need to submit a request to AT&T. Once your request is
approved, follow the unlock instructions provided here for your device.
Before you start:
• Request unlock- To submit an unlock request, visit att.com/deviceunlock to review the
requirements and submit an AT&T Device Unlock request. Requests may take up to two business
days to complete. If you’ve already submitted an unlock request, check the status of your request
at att.com/deviceunlockstatus.
• AT&T branded devices only - Ensure your device is an AT&T branded device before
proceeding. AT&T only unlocks AT&T branded devices. The AT&T logo should appear
somewhere on the device (above the display, on the back, or under the battery).
• Apple devices - You’ll need to submit an unlock request for iPhones, but you won’t need an
unlock code to complete the unlock process. Additionally, you don’t need to submit an unlock
request for iPads or Apple Watches.
• Follow instructions carefully - Use extreme care during the unlock process, as the incorrect
entry of an unlock code too many times during the life of the device permanently disables the
unlock ability. The number of attempts to unlock the device is dependent on the manufacturer and
model.

This worked for me unlocking a paid off iPhone 10 through this portal. The acceptance was also very quick, maybe 4 or 5 minutes tops.

I still can't believe they can legally lock a phone that you purchased and now is your property.
Your AT&T device isn't reported lost, stolen, or involved in fraud.
You purchased your device with an installment or term agreement and:
You've had active AT&T service for at least 60 days.
You’ve paid off your installment agreement. If you just paid off your device, wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit an unlock request. If you paid off your device as part of your monthly bill, you can submit an unlock request at the start of your next billing period.
You don’t have a past due balance on your account.
Your device isn't active on another AT&T account.
You waited at least 14 days after an early upgrade to unlock your old device (30 days if you have a business account).
Your AT&T PREPAID device has at least six months of service on the AT&T network.

At&t says that my cell phone is unlocked, but Xfinity Mobile keeps saying that my cell phone is locked and that I need an unlock pin from At&t. I've been going in circles
@@SuAmigoAlex I bought my phone. The guy swore I could cancel at any time. I used it about 3 months, and moved out of country so I canceled the AT&T service, and only then they told me I had to keep it for 6 months and it's locked, and they won't unlock it so f me.

I tried to do this with my imei and it said I needed permission through the account holder which is my mother. She would probably say no because she says no to everything.
Damm that's not good, try to trick your mom by asking like this: "Mom are you not going to give me access to your AT&T account? She will automatically say: "No" and thats good since a double negative means "YES"

I think there are some websites that offer the unlock, of course it will cost you.
I plan on switching services to T-Mobile next month. Can I unlock my phone now for example but still have my AT&T service or do I have to wait to unlock it once my AT&T service is canceled?
If your contract is already fulfill then you can request an unlock code no problem, if you are still paying for the device you will need to wait until the device is 100% paid.
Or you can simply early pay off your installments from the app itself and then unlock your phone. Make sure you wait few hours after you pay your installments before you place a request. @stonecold316

@@SuAmigoAlex yes there is an app called myat&t if you are a postpaid user that makes things easier. If you are a prepaid user then most probably you will have your phone paid in full.

How does device locking to carrier work ?
In some countries now all the devices are unlocked by law. In the USA sometimes they lock the devices until your contract expire with them.

he swore and promised within 48 hts. He lied, it didn't happen. AT&T customer service is loaded with lies and no service.
After 16 days of waiting, and having two Tech Support guys, still NOTHING. These guys have just flat out lied. This process is a Scam, Joke, and ridiculous. Now looking for other processes. AT&T is a JOKE.
