If you insert a sim card from another carrier, different that AT&T to an AT&T locked phone you will get the following message:
Network lock
Enter network unlock code
Your phone isn't allowed to use this SIM card.
If AT&T doesn't provide you with an unlock code, you can try the Unlocking company website, they charge $20 for an unlock code to use on the Samsung Galaxy S10 SM-G973U (AT&T variant). if they can't find an unlock code for you, they will refund your money.
Lastly you can unlock your Samsung Galaxy S10 SM-G973U remotely. That means by giving access to a technician to access your computer in order to access the USB ports on your computer to access your phone and unlock your device by software.
