  • Quite possibly the best entry-level luxury watch on the market, certainly in terms of finishing.
My review of the Monta Atlas GMT (Charcoal Dial).
Monta - a US brand who’s watches are assembled in Switzerland - are becoming synonymous with high level case finishing at lower end luxury prices.

I have a Triumph from 2018. I had similar issues of not connecting with it on the bracelet. Put it on a high quality shell cordavan strap. Looks and feels far superior. Now I wear it daily. Thank you very much for the video.

Nice looking watch though I see your point about that speck of dust on the dial. Not to be expected for a watch at this price.

Good video. I’m saving for a Grand Seiko but I am quite tempted by these Monta watches.

I (think) I am one who bought this from you! I look forward to it arriving. Great looking GMT watch.

Ahaha amazing, you did indeed, its a small (watch enthusiast) world. It's on its way! I was double guessing myself right up to the post office desk, I'm really going to miss owning it, it was the best looking piece in my collection for sure. I hope you connect with it a touch more than I did!

My girlfriend was even more upset than I was, the only watch in the collection that she really liked!

@@watchthisspace5945 my brother’s living in America and has got a baby on the way, so I figured it was a good excuse as any to get a GMT I’ve been after for a while! It’ll get plenty use! Thanks

Thanks for the review. Interesting watch, I love the features but the styling just doesn't do anything for me.
I only recently discovered your channel but I'm glad I did because you have very similar taste in watches to me.
Have you looked at the Farer GMTs? Seriously considering picking one up.

It’s very nice but the best watch under 2k is the Ginault Silent Service.

I've had the Atlas over a year and the watch is finished fantastically but the clasp is just too long it scratches the last link and is uncomfortable on my wrist, so I rarely wear it.

How is the delivery to the UK? Do you have to pay a lot of tax for it? I want one but I am not sure of paying too much for tax.

I’m afraid you probably will yes. I bought this whilst living in Florida, so did not have to worry at the time.
The last US watch I bought from the UK (Lorier Hyperion) came with a surprise tax of well over £100.

I mean I get it why you didnt connect with the piece. I appreciate the quality and the design but it doesnt spark anything in me. No excitement or anything else. It would be the watch that would sit in the box and I would like it but never enough to wear it constantly.

Never enjoyed wearing it at all, I’ve replaced it with a Sinn 556i that I’m head over heels in love with.
      So nah I probably won’t.
I also live in the States half the year if I was desperate!

@@watchthisspace5945 I would have though that this Monta was a step up from the Sinn 556i. I have thought about that watch, and the Damasko, Monta, and a Formex 39. Because I'm in Ireland the non Montas are more reasonable. I have been leaning towards the Formex lately. I really like this. I see you sold it to a good home. Enjoy the Sinn 556i, and let us know how you get on with it.

I hope its better than the Noble...I just received my Monta Noble today. I was eager to open it and try it on. Then was a bit disappointed, the watch is pretty small and light and has a cheap feel about it. The band is very flimsy and feels cheap and the case itself is so so but definitely doesn't warrant all the hype. The micro adjustments on the band slip, so when you adjust them and wear the watch then take it off they slip back out and you have to adjust it again before you wear it. Also the power reserve is only a few hours, I can wear it all day then take it off before bed and in the morning it has stopped and I have to re-set it. Over all its probably on par with your average run of the mill everyday watch you can buy at one of those kiosks in the middle of the mall. It's nothing special and definitely not worth the price point.
