Good video. I would suggest as long as you are using the maintaining function regularly take a moment and clean the battery terminals occasionally. Clean terminals = efficient charging and diagnosis.
Make sure to keep the terminal posts clean. Also the green light thats staying on is the one with a malfunction. In the user manual under OPERATION: 8. When the battery is fully charged, the battery symbol will fully display, and the backlight will turn off. The charger will then automatically enter maintenance mode. The green light should not be staying on.
The display on the earlier models would stay lit green when they were maintaining, at some point they redesigned them to turn the backlight off once they entered maintenance mode. I thought I had bought a dud until I checked the user manual and they had changed the wording.
Thanks for the video. Question, should I connect both alligator clip to the battery terminal. I want to keep it trickle charge when my car sit in the garage. The manual said: For negative-grounded vehicle, connect POSITIVE (RED) clip from battery charger to POSITIVE (POS, P, +) ungrounded post of battery. Connect NEGATIVE (BLACK) clip to vehicle chassis or engine block away from battery.
How long does it take though? I’ve had mine on for several days, and it still is red and looks like it jumps from 11vdc to 12. The battery bar shows 1 to 2 bars….does this seem normal?
@@MarksBasementArcade Oh I bought this thinking I can jump start my car. Is there Anything that you can recommend for jump starting a car without needing another car? Thank you.

@@MarksBasementArcade People are telling me that this charger requires 4 amps so won’t work with the 250 watt DBPower solar generator. I don’t know yet but should tomorrow.
I went and purchased one today, total piece of crap, the thing drains batteries instead of charging. It will drop them down to almost 0 V. Unbelievable POS

i thought the instructions say if the starting voltage is below 10.5V, the charger will go into reconditioning mode. usually that means discharging the battery as much as possible then restart charging. if battery doesn't get back to 10.5V after 1 hour, the LCD will display a "bad battery" symbol and stop. i read about people disconnecting everything and then retrying a couple more times, and it got the "bad battery" to full charge again.

I connect it directly to the battery and leave it sit. I have 2 cars in storage right now, both cables go direct to the battery.
Actually a very cool vid. I've been looking into one. Thank you.
My screen turns red while I'm charging my AGM battery. Is this normal?
Mine is red when charging then turns green when its fully charged.

Yes.

They do make portable battery jump packs that are about the same size as this. @@het99009197

Sounds like you may have a dead cell in your battery.
Anyone know if I can run this charger off of a lithium “ solar generator” that can do up to 250 watts?
If you can run any small appliance on your generator this should charge well.

Hello
So can one leave it connected to the battery n plugged in for let say a week?
I have left one of these units plugged into and hooked up to a battery for over 1 year. My Lawnmower is all winter.
Do you wanna sell the cobra ?
I just sold it this Feb 2024, had 22,000 on it.

Can you this to jump start a car instead of charging the the battery fuly?
No you can not. Its just a charger and maintainer.
What happens if you forget to switch to the correct battery mode? I just charged my AMG battery in the std mode by mistake 😮
That's a good question, you would overcharge or undercharge your battery.
