I remember the changeables so well. Maybe they were slightly different in the UK, but I remember I loved the fries one and the milkshake one. When you compare them to the junk free toys you get now, we were really lucky to get toys so cool in a happy meal. Cheers for the video 🎉

Still have a box of toys from this amazing decade. 😊 I knew I needed to find a true 80’s kid channel (I’ll be 45 this year) to sort out my nostalgic memories. I would be so interested to see a feature on just the alternate “boxes” used for happy meals - like the Halloween buckets. I still have a vinyl lunch sack and a couple hard plastic hinged lunch box(?) type things as well as a distinct memory of buckets that were a summertime promo that were beach pails with little shovels and things to mold sand! There were thin plastic two-part containers through the 80’s that were spaceships and boats. You had a sticker sheet to add the windows and designs. Do you remember them as well?

Awww! My first time trying McDonald’s was in 1981. We were visiting from Mexico. I was 4 yrs old and still remember how amazed I was at the happy meal 🤩🥳 we didn’t have McDonald’s until the late 1980s/early 1990s in Mexico so eating at McDonald’s when in the USA was amazing! 💓🙏
We got our first one in 77 pros and cons being rather late than never as a kid we had my first taste in 83 when it was a novelty the population wasn't crazy coming in the 80s it stopped somehow in 87.
I'm a bit too old to have eaten Happy Meals...however, I put together plenty of them, as a McDonalds employee in 1985. Some people would try to exchange their Happy Meal toys for other toys. I usually tried to satisfy them.

Definitely had some of these when I was a kid! In 1990 I remember mcdonalds had jungle book toys in there happy meals and all I could get was the tiger everytime I went! I really wanted to get them all but just kept getting that stupid tiger! lol

Most useful kids meal toy I've still got is..... a Sonic bug catcher. But that came in 200X. However I really miss those vinyl toys and their smell. Especially after the Hot fries melded with them. Oh man. What! I forgot long, long, long ago about the changeable. Didn't even know what that was but I had one at least.

I have that same witch bucket! I also have the Fraggle Rock carrot car, Oliver, the dino drink, dino McNuggets, dino ice cream cone and the dino hotcakes. I kept all of my original ones, but I did buy another dino McNuggets, because I think my original one is in my toybox in the shed and that shed is difficult to get into with all the growth in the way. I gotta do something about that one day lol!

I did have a few of those Nugget Buddies Transformers, and I did have The Bearenstein Bears, all four Muppet Babbies (a couple of them I had to buy again at the Antique Mall), and also Mac Tonight in his red car (which I had to buy again from the Antique Mall). Definitely brought back more memories for me!!!

Do you remember back in the 80's I don't remember the had california rasins in happy meals and then they had smurfs at one point in happy meals.do you have from they started in around 1997 i think teenie beanie babys i got some that ain't opened I knew a manager of Mcdonalds back in dad he use tell me what was come in happy meals and he told me the toys that was new come out there week always released on Sundays because cause people always came to eat after Sunday School and Sunday evenings after people got out of church at night he said that was there real busy days of Church people always come to eat and socialize back then with other people inside and a lot of people would eat inside more on Sundays....lol
