Not sure if you're aware, but it's been explicitly stated by Faustisse that Alastor canonically died via gunshot to the forehead by a hunter who mistook him for a deer while he was trying to bury a victim he killed prior. He likely was being chased by the hunter's hounds before finally being shot. So hey, you got your theory correct!
Didn't know that, although I figured it had something to do a gunshot or something similar because we've seen that Alastor has an X between his eyes, on his temple. I noticed it in episode 2 when he transforms after the "Stayed Gone" song.
I mean yeah Vaggie is an Angel, but I don’t think that fully disqualifies her lore before of where she lived and what year she died. We don’t know if exorcists are just heavenborn or winners who signed up for the extermination project. I know Adam said he “made her”, but I don’t think he literally created her, he probably meant it as “I made you this badass solider just like the other ones” with training kind of creation. Although I will say if the exorcists were just winners, then I’m wondering if Adam hand pick each one specifically since they’re all women?
I'm pretty sure its cannon that husk was a Las Vegas magician. and Carmilla has big hands because it's something she could have hated about herself, something they hate is made unavoidable to look at in hell, she likely was a ballerina dancer to some extent giving her weapon of choice, as its very weird to choose ballet as a weapon if you aren't good at it

Maybe Niffty was a housemaid who fell in love with the guy but he was already married and like you said, got jealous, killed the wife, then got shot. That would make sense why she's also obsessed with cleaning.

I argue against the Camilla one because I feel like she would have said something to Vaggie in ep 6, but I see what you mean. Considering Sir pentious is from the mid 1800’s, I guessing Zestial is even older, roughly around the Middle Ages. Zestial’s Speech pattern is very Shakespearean so it would make sense
My assumption was always after getting shot he was dragged to the hunter by the hunting dogs and just kinda got torn apart, but he was still semi conscious for some of it. Chances are the hunter just left his remains there, idk why you would admit to killing someone, especially when you could just excuse any blood and stuff for a deer
only one I'd disagree with is Husk. I believe the alcoholism is a newer trait developed after his dethroned status by Alastor. His largest trait is that of a Gambler. Which leads me down two theories. 1. He was a high roller likely in the time of prohibition. Got into large debts with wrong ppl most likely mafia types and they killed him. 2. Wild western man, swindler type gambled and got taken out by cowboy types, his outfit reminds me this era of saloon bartenders/entertainers so that's why I lean more to this one even if story is not as polished.
I liked the first theory cause Husk had a work in Vegas as a magician so he could gamble a lot there and the comment he made to Angel in the ep 4 about the interrogation scene not being convincing could have come from the experience he had in once in life
I saw an interesting theory about Vox that, based on his blue screen of death reaction at the end of "Stayed gone", says he could have been epileptic in his life and died of a TV light induced seizure
My theory why Angel Dust died is after his twin sister was found dead by a rival mafia and he blamed himself for not being there for her, resulting in his drug addiction and his death via overdose.
zeezi is wearing scene fashion, not biker fashion. my guess is she died in a rave related incident. she has no marks, so my guess is a party drug overdose since scene fashion was popular among ravers in the 2000s, and raves are known for having a ton of party drugs. her being a dinosaur isn’t related to her death- it’s related to a common scene phrase, “rawr means i love you in dinosaur”. i’m gonna say she’s so big because she was a big deal in her race scene. also valentino likely died from aids specifically since it was the 80s.
Vaggies death details could still be canon since it seems humans how get intonheaven can be angels since adams a thing so she may have went to heaven been really good at fight got into the exorcists and boom story still works and her backstory still makes sense.

Velvette's design changed a lot but I suspect part of that was her updating her style to keep up with the current trends. Apparently there's also a photo in one of the frames when Vox is talking to Valentino, and we see in that photo Vox has a fatback TV screen for a head instead of the current flatscreen he wears now. So it's possible the Vees all update their looks to stay hip and trendy, and maybe Velvette did the same to update herself.
My theory for Nifty is that she was in an abusive marriage and she was forced to clean up after him or be beaten, and that’s why she’s obsessed with cleaning and bad boys. And I think she finally snapped and killed her husband, similar to how she stabbed Adam, then killed herself.
My theory is far darker tbh, (TW SA+WORSE BRIEFLY MENTIONED) Nifty was a stalker and harrasser to a man, whether her husband or a stranger she obsessed over, she abused and SA'd this man heavily, most likely mentally torturing him if not physically (her sin) one day she tried to full on R word on the victim and he fought back and won by k*lling her, i love nifty so I'd rather this not be the case but it makes most sense to me, idk
Thought I heard something about Husk being a magician in Las Vegas and lived till his 70’s? Could have still died from either alcoholism or maybe got into debt trouble from gambling and was hunted down Niffty (with her mad obsession with cleaning) makes me think she was a 50’s housewife that had an abusive husband or in-laws who punished her when things weren’t tidy. He may have cheated on her or somehow caused her to snap so she murdered him (but he shot in her an attempt at self defense so that’s where the stains come from)

With Niffty, if you notice in the club, she gets really upset when she thinks she's called a mess and she also blanks out when on camera, aka when put on the spot. That also seems to support the traumatized view
Here're just my own ideas on some of their deaths. I'd instead say Baxter drowned on the Lusitania, which sunk in 1915 after being attacked by German u-boats. The Germans claimed the ship had over 173 tons of weapons on it along with military scientists and engineers disguised as crew, though this is highly disputed (as of today most evidence rules against the ship carrying all those weapons). Baxter being a scientist/inventor could be in reference to him working for the military during WW1, which saw some of the more horrific ways humans have tried to kill each other. Before I speak about Zestial, I do wanna point out that "thou" was pronounced as "you" and it's only those of us who speak modern English that mispronounce it. Anyways, Zestial actually lived and died during the era of England's burgeoning espionage industry. In fact I think Zestial is actually Sir Francis Walsingham, an incredible spymaster who's work led to several things, including the execution of Mary Queen of Scots. He had been described by enemies of England as a "spider" whose web spanned much of Europe. On Rosie, I'd actually take anything Fautisse said with a grain of salt. He also said she was probably a 2/10 or 3/10 on the powerscale of the overlords, but Alastor described her as one of the most dangerous of them. Whether or not this means she and the other cannibal demons are natives...eeeeh idk. We do see cannibals who appear to be the size of children, and given how consistent their features are, as opposed to sinners who vary greatly due to the circumstances of their death, it's possible she might still be hellborn. Hopefully we'll get confirmation on this in season 2, or maybe with some side content. Velvette is definitely an influencer who died within the last 5-10 years, though I don't think it's from a car crash. I'm more inclined to think her death was cased by a mishap with a social media challenge, think cinnamon or ice bucket challenge. There are way too many potentially deadly challenges to list, but the one I think is the most likely the Fire challenge where people literally set themselves on fire cause of Jackass. Her skin is a charred greyish brown color, as if she were on fire. Crymini's form is actually described as more a hyena than dog. Her design also reminds me of punk/hardcore rock bands. This makes me think that Crymini is HH's version of Larissa Strickland, the guitarist from, you'll never guess, Laughing Hyenas. No theory on Katie Killjoy's death, but I do wanna point out that the original study showing Praying Mantis females eat their mate's heads has come under question because it turns out they practically starved the females before introducing the males. In the wild most species of mantids will not consume the male because, much like spiders, the males will not approach a female if she is hungry. They normally wait until the female is eating or has just eaten. Reports of males releasing more gametes if beheaded or mating for longer periods are also difficult to find outside of laboratory or other highly controlled scenarios. Yes, even those wildlife documentaries you see, the close up scenes of the insects tend to be in large terrariums, not in the outdoor wideshots. In actual wild scenarios, male mantids will stop mating and flee if the female starts acting aggressive. Male mantids will also fend off rivals by sticking near the female, but outside of striking distance. Anyways, I don't have anything to add or counter-theorize about the rest of them. I will say that I do hope we learn more about their lives as humans. For instance Alastor is the Radio Demon, and yet all we know of his human life was that he was a serial killer around the time of radio. Like, was he a radio host? Maybe he reported crimes and such on the radio and got a kick out of reporting his victims when they were reported missing and what not. I do enjoy it when shows go with "show don't tell" and using character designs to imply things, but I REALLY enjoy it when theories are proven/disproven and we get to learn the truth of a character.
I think most if not all of the cannibals have similar apperenaces due to dying in a similar way They are cannibals, so maybe they consumed the brain, there's a disease that is caused by eating human brain and ends in death, possibly the reason some cannibals are children is because of their family eating a brain dinner or something like that, basically most of them share characteristics because of dying to the same disease. If they were hellborn then vaggie wouldn't have been attacked by lute since angels were not allowed to harm hellborn Edit: Grammar and more info on the disease: Kuru disease is an infectious, acquired, non-immunogenic, fatal neurodegenerative prion disease. It progresses rapidly with cerebellar and extrapyramidal signs and symptoms, with death occurring within one to two years of onset of symptoms. The symptoms include muscle twitching, loss of coordination, difficulty walking, involuntary movements, behavioral and mood changes, dementia, and difficulty eating. The involuntary movements and dementia could be why the cannibals are always smiling, along with them manifesting in hell almost fully humanoid, but through that smile showing what is wrong with them
the Lusitania was carrying munitions and that proof was found and brought up from the wreck in the form of ten Remington bullets. Obviously countries involved denied it, but I think it's been admitted more recently. At the very least it's been admitted they were carrying light ammunition. More is still theorized but it's unknown.

I like and agree with the Niffty theory. Her design is apparently based on a song about 50's B horror movies. I think her obsession with cleanliness and killing pests might be because she was hiding the dead body and had to cover up the smell and kill any animals eating it to not get caught. Edit: I was just thinking about how in Shakespeare's Macbeth Lady Macbeth keeps imagining bloody stains out of guilt and is trying to clean them. So I'm thinking that Niffty probably killed someone and that's what triggered her OCD where she kept imagining there were still blood stains or dirt after she cleaned everything up so she just kept cleaning everything obsessively
I think Niffty had a kind of Lady Macbeth type story in life, where she had taken part in a murder, felt really guilty about it and it drove her insane, so she had an “out damn spot” thing where she went crazy and obsessed over cleanliness and exterminating bugs because she didn’t want to get caught with body, and ended up getting shot by police when she did get caught :)
Personally I think Valentino died from lung cancer or something to do with smoking. He’s rarely seen without his cigarette. Plus moths are drawn to flames.
Adam was a mortal soul who went to heaven and became an angel. I always assumed the same thing applied to Vaggie & the other exorcists. Though Niffty getting shot makes sense, I've also noticed that, in every one of her designs throughout development, she always has a bandana around her neck. I think she potentially could've been strangled. I'm adamant that Husk fell to his death. Not only does he have wings, but he's also a cat, which are said to "always land on their feet". I don't think he was a Vietnam vet though, considering his age (he was either born around the same time as Angel Dust or even earlier). WWII would be more likely.
i think it was an animal attack, because her teeth couldn’t have been that sharp, hence the teeth marks on her dress, it could have been a shark attack since their teeth are normally that size. BUTTTTTT it could have been something involving dentistry, because the teeth look like when you get a crown prep, maybe it went wrong and she choked on something?

I wanna throw in my own theory about Mimzy, because she's shown to really enjoy the spotlight and attention- I believe she might've been born to a family that didn't actually want her, but had no choice for whatever reason to keep her around. Likely being an unwanted and unloved child, she might've dreamed of doing something where people paid attention to her, where people were actually fixated on her. Being a hollywood star and knowing the time period- it's *very* likely she had to do a lot of unsavory things to get her fame and was likely taken advantage of a lot because of it. I definitely think she might've done drugs, not necessarily street drugs, but maybe prescription drugs and she was probably hooked on them, but I don't think she overdosed herself. Now hang in here, this is going to be a *huge* stretch, but it's just what I'mma run with until anything official comes out I imagine she might've had a fiancee, someone who might've also been a part of the mob (since they were also running quite rampant during this time). We know Mimzy was also good friends with Alastor, I wouldn't even doubt if she was interviewed on his radio show before. But if her fiancee was perhaps a jealous man, he very well might've despise this friendship (especially given Alastor's ethnicity). One night he might've just flipped out, accusing her of being unfaithful and might've even attempted to strangle her. But no, that's not how she dies- instead she manages to grab a nearby kitchen knife and stabs him, possibly in the throat. I also wouldn't doubt if she might've even had Alastor's help in covering it up since he likely wouldn't have minded (she did mention in episode 5 that he likes taking care of her, and this would've been an example of it before their deaths). I also wouldn't doubt if Mimzy was actually fully aware of what Alastor did, but thats besides the point. Being a part of the mob, her fiancee's buddies would've noticed he was gone and would've likely accused Mimzy of it right away. So one night they break in and *force* her prescription drugs down her throat. They leave her to overdose without any sign that they were there, and make it seem like another young star ended her life. Again this is just my extremely stretched interpretation of her life, but it's also very likely- and I kind of tie it in with Marilyn Monroe since she has a few similar traits and it's widely theorized that Marilyn was actually killed (which that I do believe).
I’m gonna pitch in on the Alastor one. (Love the video!) Given that Alastor died in ‘33, it’s unlikely he was _mistaken_ for a deer. Unlike modern hunters who get mistaken for deer because of their camo and another hunter’s itchy trigger finger, he would have dressed in a hunter’s plaid (so usually red and black) flannel shirt, with a shooting vest over it, along with leather boots of a sort that would make stalking game easier because they technically would be moccasins, and thus much more quiet than a soled shoe. So even if he was out in his plain clothes, disposing of someone, of dark browns and such-easier to not worry about people wondering why you have odd colored stains if you’re wearing deep brown wool-being “mistaken” for a deer would be… very difficult. In the daylight, it would be very improbable, and at night… well hunters don’t tend to hunt at night, back then or now. Also being mauled by dogs (you can see when he does a deal with Charlie that his whole _jaw_ is stitched back on, so he probably got his throat ripped out, as well as his left arm ripped off-which is reinforced in the final song as he’s staggering back to his desk in his tower and his Wendigo shadow is missing an arm) is not something a hunting dog would do to a deer. It’s something the original breed standard of a Bulldog would do, or any dog that is taught to wrestle and hold down a _bear_ might do if instead of leaping on a bear, they tackled a man to the ground. So being tackled by a pack of hunting dogs that are normally for hunting bear… would get you ripped to shreds. I could see if there _happened_ to be a deer who was shot not too long before Alastor was by the posse hunting him-I could see him hating that he either got sloppy (unlikely) or someone else started dropping bodies and that cast him under suspicion. And remember, deer boi probably fluctuated between passing or not as white. And during the time, even in the Crescent City, l^nchings were not remotely uncommon. If a posse decided that the local half Creole radio host was somehow a threat… they’d hunt him down. And that would irritate _me_ and I lack Alastor’s ego. _However_ (and it’s a big “however”) I think another clue to his death is his hands/forearms (and lower legs according to the game mat) are blackened. Which, to me, just screams of hypothermia. Like he took a while to be found and then put down after being mauled and just slowly bleeding out, trying to breathe, in the snow, knowing he was done for. But that beggars the question: what the heck was a New Orleans man doing up north far enough to end up dying in the snow?? Exposure is one thing (people in my state can go into shock and basically freeze because the nights might drop from 95°+ during the day, to 65°~) but I don’t believe exposure _always_ causes frostbite, or causes it at all. And it makes more sense for him to be hunted down somewhere cold because he would be able to escape if a posse was after him in the bayous. Which is also where he probably dumped his victims, feeding them to the gators, and adding to the missing persons list, probably either after butchering them for easier transport and ability to toss bits at the gators, or for consumption and then anything left went to the gators. I just sort of cringe when I think about those two factors: the way his appendages are blackened, and the fact that his stitching to hold him together (like the voodoo man he is) is in very deliberate places. As far as the Wendigo goes… the deer/stag aspect of the Wendigo is not part of the actual lore. It’s a curse, yes, and is perpetually ravenous (and in some versions, every time it eats its fill it gets larger so it will be hungry again) it’s just this evil, frozen, monster that is closer to a skinwalker than the only other mythology I have found that might explain why pop culture merged the deer skull/deer images with the original curse of winter and the sub-zero chill: a particularly interesting Eastern Europe forest spirit, the Leshy. Or, if you’re a Witcher 3 fan, a Leshen. Like most Eastern Europe myths that one is designed to keep people _away_ from the woods and inside. Since Leshy is also described as their version of the fae, just a subspecies, it easily could be depicted as having antlers, as elves/fairies/etc were sometimes shown with animal accents or features. So if he got the curse but the altered form made up of mashed together mythology, with the various immigrants from Eastern Europe bringing their folk stories, then that could explain the partial animal elements and why he’s not a full deer like Husk is a full cat + wings. I one hundred percent think he was, in life, a cannibal either because his original _deal_ with whomever the main Loa he bargained with, forced him to (threatening to take his mother from him) or something he did as part of the ritual to please that one spirit/god, but didn’t have any reservations one way or another toward it. And since the Wendigo myth is an evil spirit of the ice and cold, it wouldn’t have cared if he was forced, or did it willingly, or did it before anything with other gods/spirits had him agree to. For Vox, I think he probably got electrocuted due to how much electricity he gives off when he is angry, or when he just teleports through things. But those are some really good and funny theories.
I love your theories!! I have some of my own as well: I think Husk was a part of the mafia or had mob connections, hence his “Not a very convincing interrogation scene” comment to Angel. Maybe the reason he’s a cat is because he had mob ties but wanted to be “bigger”, because what are cats? Small predators- something that could kill a bird or rabbit, but in turn could be killed by a larger predator. I think he might’ve been an inside man with the police or regretted his ties, hence his wings. Always feeling like a small carnivore in a dog eat dog world, you can defend yourself but only to an extent. I think Cherri bomb died in an explosion, probably explosive making, hence her eyes and chest being an X and her missing shoes. I think Missy Zilla was “cold blooded” hence her dinosaur design, and she makes me think more rave than biker, so she might’ve been a ruthless nightclub owner in life. Not quite sure how she died, but she could’ve died via O.D. at a rave or club. I still think Camilla is an ex angel if I’m being honest, hence why she looks so similar to Vaggie and doesn’t have any clear death X’s on her body. If not, I think she had something to do with ballet given her hair, clothes and shoes. Perhaps the black swan is her inspiration?
In the show, every sinner has a part of their physical appearance that they hate.(Ie. Angel hates his feet.) Husk is stated to have hated cats, so when he died and manifested, he was a cat.

I think that Crymini is indeed a Sinner because of her eyes mainly, since we have seen (even from the Pilot) that all Hellhounds comply with their eyes having white irises and red sclera. Something we saw with all the Hellhounds at Beelzebub's party and with the three Hellhounds seen in the Pilot (when Charlie is singing on TV)
By the way, I think Crymini will be the only one who will be completely eliminated from the Pre-Pilot Main Cast, since it seems that basically her role (personality, etc.) was taken entirely for Loona in Helluva

9:30 that parallels a lot with the Greek myth of Artemis and Acteon. Actaeon was literally turned into a deer and killed by hunters and dogs for spying on Artemis bathing.
11:50 Regarding Husk, another reason to argue that he fell to his death is the fact that he looks to be some form of cat which famously land on their feet, for a similar reason to his wings and Tom Trench's gas mask situation (12:53)
honestly i think he may have been some type of magician that got in bad with the wrong people likely due to his gambling problem and they sabotaged his wire causing him to plumit to his death hence like you said the cat features and wings but also why his weapon of choice is cards he throws
If I could give a little theory and it be ok. For mimzy. I like your idea for one im not here to tell you anything against it but to expand on it. (if you've seen the show) We see her running to Alastor when a gang is after her. Maybe on the day Alastor passed she was not aware of it. She got herself in a sticky spot, tried to find him, and in a last ditch effort (this is where your theory gave me the idea as well as her eyes) Maybe she took the easy way out so she didn't die to someone else for her actions. It would explain why she has no damage on her bodies but her eyes are pure black with eyes. Peoples eyes become bloodshot due to the type of drug they take. Another idea is she made a mistake, knew alastor wouldn't be able to save her, knew her life would be taken by someone else and took the easy way out since she had no one else to help her.
I wish we could also get some backstory and theories on all the crimes they specifically committed to get them into hell. Like I really want to know if as a part of the mafia did Angel actually murder people in cold blood or was he less willing to in comparison to his brother and father since I’m pretty he was kinda an outcast due to his father being homophobic.(this might not be canon but just a popular headcanon theory) I wonder if angels worst mafia crime was just trafficking of illegal substances and being maybe an accomplice to certain murders. Also I know Molly went to heaven so that brings up the question if she left the mafia or completely refused to commit the same acts or she used to but then repented before death. But seeing as she’s shown as a spider meaning she had to be part of the “web of crime” family that could mean she got redeemed in hell but no one really knew abt it. I’m guessing Molly was the most innocent outa the family but angel was a hard second but because of his constant abuse of drugs, probably staying with the mafia family for validation of some kind etc. and even dying from a drug overdose, he landed himself in hell. I got so many interesting theories about all the sinners. And whether certain sinners can even be redeemed based on what they did as a human, I’m looking at Alastor. Like dude was a cannibalistic serial killer, I don’t know if this is canon but I’ve heard he only killed already horrible humans so maybe not that bad of a killer but still a killer and a cannibal nonetheless. One could argue that Alastor doesn’t treat his victims or the sinners he owns as horribly as Val does since Alastor seems to actually care for nifty somewhat or at the very least understand her enough to enjoy her company and vice versa. I feel like nifty and Al coulda made a more mutual deal rather than a deal where Al’s victim gets the shorter end of the stick like husk has. but either way Alastor has threatened husk with death/torture in ep 5 and has abused and tortured many and Val has sexually abused/assaulted and physically tortured many so Val does seem much worse since he not only physically abuses but also violently sexually abuses. But yeah Alastor is still hella evil, I wanted to bring this up because some people are tryna ignore how evil he is because they love him so much. I’d love to see the show try and tackle redemption for him but idk if that’s possible, if he actually does become a better person but that betterment can’t erase the many deaths he’s caused than he can just become a guardian or powerful bodyguard for Charlie and a maybe even a close friend, but that’s if the show gives Al a redemption arc after his villain story.
On that note with Molly, Mafia families DO marry their daughters out kinda like arranged marriages. Molly may have faced this and been just a glorified housewife. Or maybe she died violently during a raid or something, but hadn't really committed any crimes herself. She looks young in her angel form and relatively innocent. I remember that Crymini is in fact a hiena and since they are known for their laugh-like sounds I think it means that she didn't used to take serious things seriously and usually just laughed them off. I have a theory (maybe not the best but anyway) that she laughed at someone which pissed them off so much a fight began and they beat her up so much that her wounds caused her death. I honestly have a theory on how Niffty died and it kind of ties to her staring blankly at cameras when shes recorded. The theory I have is that she died while being recorded with the camera being the last thing she saw. It could be a normal film or possibly it could have been a snuff film.

One theory I have for Zestial is that he’s from the 12th century (1100s) and died of a spider bite. I believe thou was common use during the Middle Ages (around 1066 (Norman conquest of Britain)-1500 (beginning of the renaissance). Medical practices during that time were quite outdated, so another part of my theory is that the doctors tried to treat him via bloodletting (removal of excess blood) as that would “balance out the 4 humours”, hence why zestial is so slim. The spider is due to the spider web pattern on his cloak and the 4 eyes, both traits of spiders. So the theory is that zestial is (potentially) an aristocratic noble from 12th century Britain who died during treatment via bloodletting after being bitten by a spider that got infected. What type? Likely a noble false widow spider. Those are the most venomous type in England and the UK, and their bite can cause open sores that have a high risk of being infected.

With Alastor I think he was trying to hide a body then a hunter was out doing his job then his dog found Alastor and was barking at him, and the hunter thought his dog found a deer and shot Alastor by mistake. Alastor was most likely doing his thing at night and the hunter didn't expect another human was out creeping in the woods like that.

By hell, it worked! They did a similar thing with Star Wars back in the day. Empire's script says "No, Obi-Wan killed your father" despite Vader being locked in as Luke's dad by that point.
May be a stretch but: I think that Tom Trench died from a gas attack (as normal) but he died from a German gas attack (Tom Trench being a German soldier in this scenario) that ended up turning back around due to wind direction and he didn't have time to react and put on his gas mask causing him to die.

Zestial's eyes and emphasis on information might imply that he was an advisor or spymaster. And the shadows would imply that he was never found out. Which could mean that he died of natural causes and took all of his secrets with him, or died in isolation and his body never found. With Alastor, I think the only thing you've got wrong is the order: That the dogs picked up on his scent first and pursued him until he was shot in the head. Carmilla Carmine looks way too similar to Vaggie for me to possibly dismiss the possibility that she is a fallen angel. Which would also explain her far more intricate knowledge of angelic steelworks. Husk is stated to have been older than Angel, but died much later. This might make him old enough to have been a WW2 vet, but he would have been in his sixties by the time of Vietnam. Alcoholism seems like a safe bet though. The wings could mean he was (lord forgive me) an "ace pilot", but I think it more plausible they're just a holdover aesthetic from his days as an overlord. With Valentino, we don't have any visible marks, but we do have Angel's commentary that "his eyes are such shit". The fact that he is almost never without his sunglasses would also strongly imply this is something he is aware of and is concealing. So while I can't nail down any one possibility, I do believe it had something to do with him not being able to see something, either because a bright light was in his face or his vision was so poor that he didn't see the danger until it was too late. With Vox, you can see that he has a photograph on his desk of himself with a fatback TV for a head instead, which would imply that he's capable of upgrading his physical form. I do agree that he most likely died from an accident on the set, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that complications from plastic surgery are also a possibility. Husk is said to resemble a cat because he hated cats. So I fully agree with you that Crymini's last words on Earth were either "I'm not a bitch!" or "Don't call me a bitch!"
If we go with your theory that Crymini died in a car crash, maybe she looks the way she does because a dog was in the middle of the road. She swerved to avoid hitting it and lost control of the vehicle. A lot of accidents happen that way.
I actually think that Nifty was an actual housewife that saw her husband cheating, killed him but the guilt caught up to her so she didn't leave the house and didn't remove the corpse so she acted like everything is fine later she went insane and burned the house down or severely burning her self by an oven
Personally I like to think Nifty died in a fire because of the scene in the pilot where she gets summoned in the fire place and because of her hair. I think the red stains on her shirt may be stains of not her own blood, but the blood of the girl she killed. Considering she seems absolutely obsessed with cleaning and has an entire breakdown when Angel tells her "she's a mess" and everyone in hell has a trait or thing that they hate about themselves like angel dust and his feet and husk who doesn't like cats. Maybe the stains are there because she wants to be clean but she can never clean them off. They also look more like blood splatter from another person than from her own wounds to me.
I have an add-on to the Alastor theory: I think he was a reporter or some other person who worked on the radio, hence his radio voice. and I also heard this story of a serial killer from a few centuries ago who's last crime was stealing from a household, and the object he was trying to steal was a radio, but since Viv is not connecting things to real life it was probably the first thing I said and not the serial killer thing.

So it's possible the Vees all update their looks to stay hip and trendy, and maybe Velvette did the same to update herself.

Here're just my own ideas on some of their deaths.
I'd instead say Baxter drowned on the Lusitania, which sunk in 1915 after being attacked by German u-boats. The Germans claimed the ship had over 173 tons of weapons on it along with military scientists and engineers disguised as crew, though this is highly disputed (as of today most evidence rules against the ship carrying all those weapons). Baxter being a scientist/inventor could be in reference to him working for the military during WW1, which saw some of the more horrific ways humans have tried to kill each other.
Before I speak about Zestial, I do wanna point out that "thou" was pronounced as "you" and it's only those of us who speak modern English that mispronounce it. Anyways, Zestial actually lived and died during the era of England's burgeoning espionage industry. In fact I think Zestial is actually Sir Francis Walsingham, an incredible spymaster who's work led to several things, including the execution of Mary Queen of Scots. He had been described by enemies of England as a "spider" whose web spanned much of Europe.
On Rosie, I'd actually take anything Fautisse said with a grain of salt. He also said she was probably a 2/10 or 3/10 on the powerscale of the overlords, but Alastor described her as one of the most dangerous of them. Whether or not this means she and the other cannibal demons are natives...eeeeh idk. We do see cannibals who appear to be the size of children, and given how consistent their features are, as opposed to sinners who vary greatly due to the circumstances of their death, it's possible she might still be hellborn. Hopefully we'll get confirmation on this in season 2, or maybe with some side content.
Velvette is definitely an influencer who died within the last 5-10 years, though I don't think it's from a car crash. I'm more inclined to think her death was cased by a mishap with a social media challenge, think cinnamon or ice bucket challenge. There are way too many potentially deadly challenges to list, but the one I think is the most likely the Fire challenge where people literally set themselves on fire cause of Jackass. Her skin is a charred greyish brown color, as if she were on fire.
Crymini's form is actually described as more a hyena than dog. Her design also reminds me of punk/hardcore rock bands. This makes me think that Crymini is HH's version of Larissa Strickland, the guitarist from, you'll never guess, Laughing Hyenas.
No theory on Katie Killjoy's death, but I do wanna point out that the original study showing Praying Mantis females eat their mate's heads has come under question because it turns out they practically starved the females before introducing the males. In the wild most species of mantids will not consume the male because, much like spiders, the males will not approach a female if she is hungry. They normally wait until the female is eating or has just eaten. Reports of males releasing more gametes if beheaded or mating for longer periods are also difficult to find outside of laboratory or other highly controlled scenarios. Yes, even those wildlife documentaries you see, the close up scenes of the insects tend to be in large terrariums, not in the outdoor wideshots. In actual wild scenarios, male mantids will stop mating and flee if the female starts acting aggressive. Male mantids will also fend off rivals by sticking near the female, but outside of striking distance.
Anyways, I don't have anything to add or counter-theorize about the rest of them. I will say that I do hope we learn more about their lives as humans. For instance Alastor is the Radio Demon, and yet all we know of his human life was that he was a serial killer around the time of radio. Like, was he a radio host? Maybe he reported crimes and such on the radio and got a kick out of reporting his victims when they were reported missing and what not. I do enjoy it when shows go with "show don't tell" and using character designs to imply things, but I REALLY enjoy it when theories are proven/disproven and we get to learn the truth of a character.

They are cannibals, so maybe they consumed the brain, there's a disease that is caused by eating human brain and ends in death, possibly the reason some cannibals are children is because of their family eating a brain dinner or something like that, basically most of them share characteristics because of dying to the same disease.
If they were hellborn then vaggie wouldn't have been attacked by lute since angels were not allowed to harm hellborn

Obviously countries involved denied it, but I think it's been admitted more recently. At the very least it's been admitted they were carrying light ammunition. More is still theorized but it's unknown.

I think her obsession with cleanliness and killing pests might be because she was hiding the dead body and had to cover up the smell and kill any animals eating it to not get caught.

So I'm thinking that Niffty probably killed someone and that's what triggered her OCD where she kept imagining there were still blood stains or dirt after she cleaned everything up so she just kept cleaning everything obsessively

I think Niffty had a kind of Lady Macbeth type story in life, where she had taken part in a murder, felt really guilty about it and it drove her insane, so she had an “out damn spot” thing where she went crazy and obsessed over cleanliness and exterminating bugs because she didn’t want to get caught with body, and ended up getting shot by police when she did get caught :)

I'm adamant that Husk fell to his death. Not only does he have wings, but he's also a cat, which are said to "always land on their feet". I don't think he was a Vietnam vet though, considering his age (he was either born around the same time as Angel Dust or even earlier). WWII would be more likely.
He was probably born up to a decade before Angel, so I jump on the WW2 bandwagon there.

I wanna throw in my own theory about Mimzy, because she's shown to really enjoy the spotlight and attention-
I believe she might've been born to a family that didn't actually want her, but had no choice for whatever reason to keep her around. Likely being an unwanted and unloved child, she might've dreamed of doing something where people paid attention to her, where people were actually fixated on her. Being a hollywood star and knowing the time period- it's *very* likely she had to do a lot of unsavory things to get her fame and was likely taken advantage of a lot because of it. I definitely think she might've done drugs, not necessarily street drugs, but maybe prescription drugs and she was probably hooked on them, but I don't think she overdosed herself.
Now hang in here, this is going to be a *huge* stretch, but it's just what I'mma run with until anything official comes out
I imagine she might've had a fiancee, someone who might've also been a part of the mob (since they were also running quite rampant during this time). We know Mimzy was also good friends with Alastor, I wouldn't even doubt if she was interviewed on his radio show before. But if her fiancee was perhaps a jealous man, he very well might've despise this friendship (especially given Alastor's ethnicity). One night he might've just flipped out, accusing her of being unfaithful and might've even attempted to strangle her. But no, that's not how she dies- instead she manages to grab a nearby kitchen knife and stabs him, possibly in the throat. I also wouldn't doubt if she might've even had Alastor's help in covering it up since he likely wouldn't have minded (she did mention in episode 5 that he likes taking care of her, and this would've been an example of it before their deaths). I also wouldn't doubt if Mimzy was actually fully aware of what Alastor did, but thats besides the point. Being a part of the mob, her fiancee's buddies would've noticed he was gone and would've likely accused Mimzy of it right away. So one night they break in and *force* her prescription drugs down her throat. They leave her to overdose without any sign that they were there, and make it seem like another young star ended her life.
Again this is just my extremely stretched interpretation of her life, but it's also very likely- and I kind of tie it in with Marilyn Monroe since she has a few similar traits and it's widely theorized that Marilyn was actually killed (which that I do believe).
My headcanon for Velvette is that she died doing a dumb internet challenge, like eating tidepods

I’m gonna pitch in on the Alastor one. (Love the video!)
Given that Alastor died in ‘33, it’s unlikely he was _mistaken_ for a deer. Unlike modern hunters who get mistaken for deer because of their camo and another hunter’s itchy trigger finger, he would have dressed in a hunter’s plaid (so usually red and black) flannel shirt, with a shooting vest over it, along with leather boots of a sort that would make stalking game easier because they technically would be moccasins, and thus much more quiet than a soled shoe. So even if he was out in his plain clothes, disposing of someone, of dark browns and such-easier to not worry about people wondering why you have odd colored stains if you’re wearing deep brown wool-being “mistaken” for a deer would be… very difficult. In the daylight, it would be very improbable, and at night… well hunters don’t tend to hunt at night, back then or now.
Also being mauled by dogs (you can see when he does a deal with Charlie that his whole _jaw_ is stitched back on, so he probably got his throat ripped out, as well as his left arm ripped off-which is reinforced in the final song as he’s staggering back to his desk in his tower and his Wendigo shadow is missing an arm) is not something a hunting dog would do to a deer. It’s something the original breed standard of a Bulldog would do, or any dog that is taught to wrestle and hold down a _bear_ might do if instead of leaping on a bear, they tackled a man to the ground. So being tackled by a pack of hunting dogs that are normally for hunting bear… would get you ripped to shreds.
I could see if there _happened_ to be a deer who was shot not too long before Alastor was by the posse hunting him-I could see him hating that he either got sloppy (unlikely) or someone else started dropping bodies and that cast him under suspicion. And remember, deer boi probably fluctuated between passing or not as white. And during the time, even in the Crescent City, l^nchings were not remotely uncommon. If a posse decided that the local half Creole radio host was somehow a threat… they’d hunt him down. And that would irritate _me_ and I lack Alastor’s ego.
_However_ (and it’s a big “however”) I think another clue to his death is his hands/forearms (and lower legs according to the game mat) are blackened. Which, to me, just screams of hypothermia. Like he took a while to be found and then put down after being mauled and just slowly bleeding out, trying to breathe, in the snow, knowing he was done for. But that beggars the question: what the heck was a New Orleans man doing up north far enough to end up dying in the snow?? Exposure is one thing (people in my state can go into shock and basically freeze because the nights might drop from 95°+ during the day, to 65°~) but I don’t believe exposure _always_ causes frostbite, or causes it at all.
And it makes more sense for him to be hunted down somewhere cold because he would be able to escape if a posse was after him in the bayous. Which is also where he probably dumped his victims, feeding them to the gators, and adding to the missing persons list, probably either after butchering them for easier transport and ability to toss bits at the gators, or for consumption and then anything left went to the gators.
I just sort of cringe when I think about those two factors: the way his appendages are blackened, and the fact that his stitching to hold him together (like the voodoo man he is) is in very deliberate places.
As far as the Wendigo goes… the deer/stag aspect of the Wendigo is not part of the actual lore. It’s a curse, yes, and is perpetually ravenous (and in some versions, every time it eats its fill it gets larger so it will be hungry again) it’s just this evil, frozen, monster that is closer to a skinwalker than the only other mythology I have found that might explain why pop culture merged the deer skull/deer images with the original curse of winter and the sub-zero chill: a particularly interesting Eastern Europe forest spirit, the Leshy. Or, if you’re a Witcher 3 fan, a Leshen. Like most Eastern Europe myths that one is designed to keep people _away_ from the woods and inside. Since Leshy is also described as their version of the fae, just a subspecies, it easily could be depicted as having antlers, as elves/fairies/etc were sometimes shown with animal accents or features.
So if he got the curse but the altered form made up of mashed together mythology, with the various immigrants from Eastern Europe bringing their folk stories, then that could explain the partial animal elements and why he’s not a full deer like Husk is a full cat + wings.
I one hundred percent think he was, in life, a cannibal either because his original _deal_ with whomever the main Loa he bargained with, forced him to (threatening to take his mother from him) or something he did as part of the ritual to please that one spirit/god, but didn’t have any reservations one way or another toward it. And since the Wendigo myth is an evil spirit of the ice and cold, it wouldn’t have cared if he was forced, or did it willingly, or did it before anything with other gods/spirits had him agree to.

I think Husk was a part of the mafia or had mob connections, hence his “Not a very convincing interrogation scene” comment to Angel. Maybe the reason he’s a cat is because he had mob ties but wanted to be “bigger”, because what are cats? Small predators- something that could kill a bird or rabbit, but in turn could be killed by a larger predator. I think he might’ve been an inside man with the police or regretted his ties, hence his wings. Always feeling like a small carnivore in a dog eat dog world, you can defend yourself but only to an extent.
I think Cherri bomb died in an explosion, probably explosive making, hence her eyes and chest being an X and her missing shoes.
I think Missy Zilla was “cold blooded” hence her dinosaur design, and she makes me think more rave than biker, so she might’ve been a ruthless nightclub owner in life. Not quite sure how she died, but she could’ve died via O.D. at a rave or club.
I still think Camilla is an ex angel if I’m being honest, hence why she looks so similar to Vaggie and doesn’t have any clear death X’s on her body. If not, I think she had something to do with ballet given her hair, clothes and shoes. Perhaps the black swan is her inspiration?
In the show, every sinner has a part of their physical appearance that they hate.(Ie. Angel hates his feet.) Husk is stated to have hated cats, so when he died and manifested, he was a cat.

By the way, I think Crymini will be the only one who will be completely eliminated from the Pre-Pilot Main Cast, since it seems that basically her role (personality, etc.) was taken entirely for Loona in Helluva

We see her running to Alastor when a gang is after her. Maybe on the day Alastor passed she was not aware of it. She got herself in a sticky spot, tried to find him, and in a last ditch effort (this is where your theory gave me the idea as well as her eyes)
Maybe she took the easy way out so she didn't die to someone else for her actions.
It would explain why she has no damage on her bodies but her eyes are pure black with eyes. Peoples eyes become bloodshot due to the type of drug they take.
Another idea is she made a mistake, knew alastor wouldn't be able to save her, knew her life would be taken by someone else and took the easy way out since she had no one else to help her.

I wish we could also get some backstory and theories on all the crimes they specifically committed to get them into hell. Like I really want to know if as a part of the mafia did Angel actually murder people in cold blood or was he less willing to in comparison to his brother and father since I’m pretty he was kinda an outcast due to his father being homophobic.(this might not be canon but just a popular headcanon theory) I wonder if angels worst mafia crime was just trafficking of illegal substances and being maybe an accomplice to certain murders. Also I know Molly went to heaven so that brings up the question if she left the mafia or completely refused to commit the same acts or she used to but then repented before death. But seeing as she’s shown as a spider meaning she had to be part of the “web of crime” family that could mean she got redeemed in hell but no one really knew abt it. I’m guessing Molly was the most innocent outa the family but angel was a hard second but because of his constant abuse of drugs, probably staying with the mafia family for validation of some kind etc. and even dying from a drug overdose, he landed himself in hell. I got so many interesting theories about all the sinners. And whether certain sinners can even be redeemed based on what they did as a human, I’m looking at Alastor. Like dude was a cannibalistic serial killer, I don’t know if this is canon but I’ve heard he only killed already horrible humans so maybe not that bad of a killer but still a killer and a cannibal nonetheless. Plus it’s not like he did good once he became an overlord in hell. Tho he coulda have been killing just really horrible overlords like Val(wish he “toppled” and swatted Val like a fly), so who knows how horrible his intentions really were and yes death has less value in hell bc sinners can’t die by normal means since they just respawn so prolly when they say Alastor “toppled overlords” they mean he defeated them and then trapped them in some radio torturous world where their screams can be heard on his broadcasts. But he’s also enslaved multiple souls like husk same as Valentino has enslaved multiple souls like angel. One could argue that Alastor doesn’t treat his victims or the sinners he owns as horribly as Val does since Alastor seems to actually care for nifty somewhat or at the very least understand her enough to enjoy her company and vice versa. I feel like nifty and Al coulda made a more mutual deal rather than a deal where Al’s victim gets the shorter end of the stick like husk has. but either way Alastor has threatened husk with death/torture in ep 5 and has abused and tortured many and Val has sexually abused/assaulted and physically tortured many so Val does seem much worse since he not only physically abuses but also violently sexually abuses. But yeah Alastor is still hella evil, I wanted to bring this up because some people are tryna ignore how evil he is because they love him so much. I’d love to see the show try and tackle redemption for him but idk if that’s possible, if he actually does become a better person but that betterment can’t erase the many deaths he’s caused than he can just become a guardian or powerful bodyguard for Charlie and a maybe even a close friend, but that’s if the show gives Al a redemption arc after his villain story.
On that note with Molly, Mafia families DO marry their daughters out kinda like arranged marriages. Molly may have faced this and been just a glorified housewife. Or maybe she died violently during a raid or something, but hadn't really committed any crimes herself. She looks young in her angel form and relatively innocent. So maybe she died young and it put Angel into a depression losing his twin.
I remember that Crymini is in fact a hiena and since they are known for their laugh-like sounds I think it means that she didn't used to take serious things seriously and usually just laughed them off. I have a theory (maybe not the best but anyway) that she laughed at someone which pissed them off so much a fight began and they beat her up so much that her wounds caused her death. Also you can see she has spots all over her body and they could potentially represent bruises and stuff

11:45 interesting fact: During the Vietnam War, the ace of spades was used as a tool of psychological warfare as it was common practice by US soldiers to leave the ace card on the bodies of killed Vietnamese...since husk is a card themed demon this could point to him being a Vietnam vet. One theory I have for Zestial is that he’s from the 12th century (1100s) and died of a spider bite. I believe thou was common use during the Middle Ages (around 1066 (Norman conquest of Britain)-1500 (beginning of the renaissance). Medical practices during that time were quite outdated, so another part of my theory is that the doctors tried to treat him via bloodletting (removal of excess blood) as that would “balance out the 4 humours”, hence why zestial is so slim. The spider is due to the spider web pattern on his cloak and the 4 eyes, both traits of spiders. So the theory is that zestial is (potentially) an aristocratic noble from 12th century Britain who died during treatment via bloodletting after being bitten by a spider that got infected. What type? Likely a noble false widow spider. Those are the most venomous type in England and the UK, and their bite can cause open sores that have a high risk of being infected.
A theory of mine is that Nifty was a housewife and died because of a lobotomy, which I think would explain her obsession with men, the fact she only has one eye, and how she sometimes gets obsessed with sharp things.

My theory for Vox is that he was a infomercial broadcaster who as you said due to a production issue died on set while filming, hence why he flips through so many genres of commercial and tv in his song "Stayed Gone"

With Alastor I think he was trying to hide a body then a hunter was out doing his job then his dog found Alastor and was barking at him, and the hunter thought his dog found a deer and shot Alastor by mistake. Alastor was most likely doing his thing at night and the hunter didn't expect another human was out creeping in the woods like that.

I always thought that Carmilla and Zestiel were fallen angels. That they fell because they questioned heaven's policies.
My personal theories:
Alastor-I believe his one checks out fine but I’d like to think maybe someone who’s close friend or family was killed by alastor wanted to get revenge so whilst Alastor was out somewhere they would shoot him and bring a pack of dogs with him to maul him to death.
Nifty-I think she was indeed some sort of crazy yandere stalker towards her husband who cheated on her with another women.Once nifty found out she stabbed both the women and the husband to death and was shot and killed in the process.
Mimzy-Me personally I think Mimzy may have been poisoned by someone.Based off her behaviour she seems to be a selfish person who uses others to get what she wants.I think someone who knew of her true intent in the human world wanted revenge as they were a victim of her manipulation,so they got someone to poison her.
Crymini-I think the fact she became a dog because she was a bitch irl would be funny,but also a good guess as we know when you go to hell you take after your human traits.I think one day she snuck out her parents house to go do some mischievous stuff with her friends and whilst leaving was indeed ran over.
Carmilla-I think that she may have been a worker in a missionary,where many people would help create weapons and ammo to help with the war.I believe carmilla was shot and killed whilst running away with her daughters from an invading army,the daughters dying aswell in the process.
Velvette-Velvette is such an interesting case considering there isn’t alot to go off,however I believe velvet later on in her life contracted a terminal illness which Lead to her death.While she was ill she would only have her devices and social media to help entertain her.I believe before the illness she wouldn’t have been the greatest person and whilst I’ll still trying to gain fame on social media and get people to like her,yet she eventually died.

May be a stretch but: I think that Tom Trench died from a gas attack (as normal) but he died from a German gas attack (Tom Trench being a German soldier in this scenario) that ended up turning back around due to wind direction and he didn't have time to react and put on his gas mask causing him to die.

I personally think Husk died due to being drowned due to his gambling debt to the mob since his appearance is similar to a Nickar. The Nickar is from Teutonic mythology and are water spirits that drown people, and they appear as a cat humanoid with wings, just like Husk.

Zestial's eyes and emphasis on information might imply that he was an advisor or spymaster. And the shadows would imply that he was never found out. Which could mean that he died of natural causes and took all of his secrets with him, or died in isolation and his body never found.
With Alastor, I think the only thing you've got wrong is the order: That the dogs picked up on his scent first and pursued him until he was shot in the head.
Carmilla Carmine looks way too similar to Vaggie for me to possibly dismiss the possibility that she is a fallen angel. Which would also explain her far more intricate knowledge of angelic steelworks.
Husk is stated to have been older than Angel, but died much later. This might make him old enough to have been a WW2 vet, but he would have been in his sixties by the time of Vietnam. Alcoholism seems like a safe bet though. The wings could mean he was (lord forgive me) an "ace pilot", but I think it more plausible they're just a holdover aesthetic from his days as an overlord.
With Valentino, we don't have any visible marks, but we do have Angel's commentary that "his eyes are such shit". The fact that he is almost never without his sunglasses would also strongly imply this is something he is aware of and is concealing. So while I can't nail down any one possibility, I do believe it had something to do with him not being able to see something, either because a bright light was in his face or his vision was so poor that he didn't see the danger until it was too late.
With Vox, you can see that he has a photograph on his desk of himself with a fatback TV for a head instead, which would imply that he's capable of upgrading his physical form. I do agree that he most likely died from an accident on the set, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that complications from plastic surgery are also a possibility.
Husk is said to resemble a cat because he hated cats. So I fully agree with you that Crymini's last words on Earth were either "I'm not a bitch!" or "Don't call me a bitch!"
If we go with your theory that Crymini died in a car crash, maybe she looks the way she does because a dog was in the middle of the road. She swerved to avoid hitting it and lost control of the vehicle. A lot of accidents happen that way.
I actually think that Nifty was an actual housewife that saw her husband cheating, killed him but the guilt caught up to her so she didn't leave the house and didn't remove the corpse so she acted like everything is fine later she went insane and burned the house down or severely burning her self by an oven
Personally I like to think Nifty died in a fire because of the scene in the pilot where she gets summoned in the fire place and because of her hair. I think the red stains on her shirt may be stains of not her own blood, but the blood of the girl she killed. Considering she seems absolutely obsessed with cleaning and has an entire breakdown when Angel tells her "she's a mess" and everyone in hell has a trait or thing that they hate about themselves like angel dust and his feet and husk who doesn't like cats. Maybe the stains are there because she wants to be clean but she can never clean them off. They also look more like blood splatter from another person than from her own wounds to me.
I have an add-on to the Alastor theory: I think he was a reporter or some other person who worked on the radio, hence his radio voice. and I also heard this story of a serial killer from a few centuries ago who's last crime was stealing from a household, and the object he was trying to steal was a radio, but since Viv is not connecting things to real life it was probably the first thing I said and not the serial killer thing.
