I was amazed that you loved the JolliSpaghetti. Some people who are not from the Philippines find it sweet, but it's because Jollibee is originally made for children, I remember growing up in the Philippines, almost all Jollibee used to have playground inside.

Thanks for coming. Philippines has a lot of improving to do if we want to compete with our Asean neighbors. Lloyd is correct that our hotels and food are more expensive than others especially Vietnam. But I think our advantage is our hospitality and speaking English. It's my first time seeing tourists watching a game here. I wish you could have done a shutout about what activities you wanted to do as we could have given you advices and referrals. I coukd have given you the game tickets as my friends are coaches of those teams.
When you comeback please ask us prior so that we can be of help to you.
Try vietnamese street pizza and other street food. Enjoy Vietnam. Theres plenty of Jolibee also there in Vietnam and its beaten western competitors like McDonald's, Kfc, Pizza hut because its adapted well.
God bless to you lovely couple

Every country has pros and cons for sure. Do not take it personally. Philippines has beautiful islands equal if not better than indonesia. Yes, english is widely spoken. In these days of inflation, who is not affected? Are governments willing to spend very large amount of money to subsidise the food and fuel cost? In europe, europeans suffer due to ukraine war too.

Philippines is already competing in the Best of Asian & Asean countries, Philippines overtaken the GDP of Malaysia as of today and threatening the GDP of Thailand. Philippines is already Middle Income Country in (NIC) - Newly Industrialized Country and soon become Upper Middle Class country. Philippines is progressing fast.

Jollibee’s food can either be brilliant or not such.
Anthony Bourdain’s legend! I adored him, his sense of humour and utterly ironic, sardonic wit.
He went to Jollibee because the Filipinos are so enamoured of it. He was not really all that impressed, actually.

A suggestion: If you do come back to the PH, explore the Northern part of Luzon, and visit places where you wont see any beaches this time around, namely VIGAN, Ilocos Sur, a place where you'll feel like you went back in time in Colonial Spain. Another place is BAGUIO CITY, Benguet, a place where you wont see any palm trees anywhere, instead you'll see Pine Trees! Its because its situated on a mountain , its also known as the summer capital of the PH, due to the fact that its weather is 20 degrees lower than the lowlands. These places are accessible by bus from Manila. ( ride the luxury Joy Bus for $ 9, its pricey but its worth it ) Take Care guys, love your videos.

third world is an obsolete and INSULTING term ...ph is an upper middle income country as of today..
hence its affluent enough based on world bank classification..as a result, majority of areas within metro manila are highly developed, advanced and sophisticated than singapore, like BGC, MAKATI, EASTWOOD, ORTIGAS, ALABANG, BAY AREA ETC..
countries now a days are classed based on thier income level ( world bank )...pls do some research...youre.very ignorant

3rd world was used during the cold war between US/allies and Russia. Non-allied countries were called 3rd world. Using the term 3rd world in today modern era is inappropriate and an insult to a country. Phillippines is a developing country. Manila city is a small city and yes a portion of it has poor areas. In any city in the world there are poor people or hood places.

I'm not a fan of well developed country. To be honest the contrast of everything in the Philippines is like taking you to different parts of the world. The natural beauty to it's business district cities are just amazing. We are developing country not a third world. There is a ongoing contruction of subway train already and i know it is too late but we try to catch up the soonest as possible.

    🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭, 🇵🇭
    Mabuhay! (pronounced Mabu HIGH)
    Welcome to Manila
    🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Manila (endonym Maynila) is a huge city. Technically it's called Metro Manila and is composed of 16 cities so it is huge.
In this guide I will only cover only 3 of the 16 cities because these 3 are the most popular, namely Taguig, Makati and Manila proper).
Note that most of the establishments here are cash basis only. So when you withdraw your money I strongly suggest that you go to a nearby bank (usually where the ATM is or near where it is) and have your money broken by 100 peso bills. It is suggested to have a few of those bills broken down by coins
Here are suggestions on where to go in Manila. I've compiled a list of suggested places to go to in Manila grouped by three areas
    1. MANILA BAY AREA which is along Roxas Boulevard (pronounced "Rohas" as Philippines was formerly under Spain "x" are pronounced as "h" and the Filipino alphabet also has the Spanish character "ñ" pronounced accordingly as the Spanish pronunciation for ñ as in the Spanish word mañana)
    2. MODERN MANILA (TAGUIG/MAKATI CITIES)
    3. OLD MANILA AREA (MANILA CITY PROPER)
Highly suggested places are denoted by a star
    **********************
    MANILA BAY AREA
    ***********************
    1. 🌟 SM MALL OF ASIA (suggested activities go back at the complex where you can find "SM BY THE BAY", this is a large outdoor area where you can find rides and restaurants. I recommend watching the world famous Manila Bay sunset from either the ferris wheel or by having a drink or two from the nearby Conrad Hotel roofdeck, , try any of the many rides there too.
    2. 🌟 AYALA MALLS MANILA BAY it's a relatively new mall and it's very beautiful
    3. 🌟 OKADA HOTEL AND CASINO - an opulent MOST SEE hotel casino designed like a fantasy Japanese fairy land. You can then then watch the dancing lights show in the evening. Note that there are many fancy restaurants inside but if you are on a budget inside the hotel are fast food places such as Jolibee and Burger King.
    *************************
    TAGUIG MAKATI AREA
    *************************
    1. TAGUIG : BGC (go to Bonifacio High Street and get coffee or doughnut while enjoying the sights)
    2. TAGUIG : UPTOWN MALL (get a good men's haircut at Brunos inside the mall go to the food court, Pepper Steak is highly recommended, you can also find Tim Horton's and Shake Shack downstairs)
    3. MAKATI : 🌟 GREENBELT MALL (tour the garden oasis themed mall after that go cross over to AYALA TRIANGLE GARDENS
    4. MAKATI : AYALA TRIANGLE GARDENS take time to unwind in the triangle garden and why not have a coffee or dessert in the many restaurants or even the newly built small mall right inside the garden.
    ***********************
    OLD MANILA AREA
    **********************
    1. 🌟 INTRAMUROS / Manila Cathedral / Barbara's inside Intramuros / San Agustin Church
all of the above are within walking distance no need to take the rides being offered at the gate

Max's Restaurant is an institution have in having its roots immediately after World War 2 when American soldiers were looking for a place to eat and they discovered that this family serves excellent Filipino dishes. 2. ARISTOCRAT RESTAURANT along Roxas Boulevard ask for their chicken barbecue

Yes, Makati is a good balance between old grimy Manila and clean business modern BGC. All 16 cities of Metro Manila have their own different vibes. Manila has more character while BGC is ‘boring’.

This is the major problem with the Phillipines... It lacks culture. US culture has infected it so much there is very little Filipino culture to speak of. I loved alot about the Phillipines when I went (particularly the people and their values and the islands are gorgeous) but the Filipino culture and traditiions are quite weak and impossible to find. Also it was by far the worst food I had anywhere in the world I've been. Full of sugar in everything (even bread and cheese) or fried. You go to most parts of Asia, Europe, and Latin America and traditions are visible in the street, heard in the music, and can be tasted in the food. Not in the Phillipines though.
