First Time Trying SPICY Food in Bali (Ayam Geprek LEVEL 10)

- In Today's Bali vlog we challenge ourselves to only eat Indonesian food for a week, we discovered a lot of great local warungs in Canggu as well as some great Indonesian dishes including, Nasi Campur, Nasi Goreng, Soto Ayam, Beef Rendang, and finally some Ayam Geprek.
We were told by a lot of our subscribers to try Spicy Ayam Geprek Level 10, although the first few places we went to were closed we ended up finding a local warung selling street food.

With really hot food, eat plain boiled rice, eat cucumber and drink milk. I married an Indonesian and I found these work the best. Enjoy ❤️☺️
You can try " rendang sapi (brown beef curry) and " kari ayam ( yellow chicken curry) at padang restaurant, tell the seller " jangan pedas (dont spicy), if still too spicy dip it in chicken or beef soup or "bakso (meat balls soup). Drink together with orange juice or lemon tea. For the nasi goreng you can combine with sausage and egg roll".
We should have prawn crackers as a replacement for plastic spoons to save the planet!
I always scoop my gado-gado and bubur ayam with prawn crackers and I think it's the best way possible to reduce single use plastic utensils.

Guys if you like spicy food like ayam geprek, i think you should try nasi tempong. You can find ayam geprek all over indonesia, but nasi tempong is originated in bali. The sambal is tastier there. The fried chicken and fried seafood have more complex spices.

I would bite a chocolate bar after eating too much spicy food, it will ease off the hot sensation on your mouth much faster than warm beverage, and bravo to take up the challenge on this ayam geprek level 10 👍

I just remember you should try Indo-chinese spicy snack. Cakwe cake is long cake with spicy sauce and pempek-pempek fish cake also delicious with brown spicy sauce. Find it on grab or gojek.

actually you can try SS ( special sambal ) restaurant, they have many types super hot sambal highly recommended for you if you want the yummy hot spices Indonesian foods.

You guys should eat with rice, do not ever eat ayam grepek with no rice 😂
If u eat Indonesian spicy meals, always mix to eat it with rice.
Indonesian culinary concept is always mix all the side dish with rice, that’s why we have a very thick of spices and rice will make the taste balance.
As foreigner that not used to eat chilly, just try the level 1 to max 3 for it. Even not all Indonesian can take a high level of chilly. Especially the small red or green chilly type ( cabe rawit merah or hijau). I my self never order a high level of pedas, even though i always have to eat with chilly.
To high level of spiciness from the chilly, will ruin the art of the taste. You can’t feel the food real taste.
A trick to tone down the hotness of the chilly is to mix it with Indonesian sweet soya sauce ( kecap manis) & always eat it by mix it with rice.

If i can suggest, the rice is the cure of every strong food, the rice will neutralize the strong taste, that the tongue cant handle. you're to brave to eating that hot geprek like that, strong or spicy food must be combine with rice. Thats why we eating rice. Hope you can try more for the next sweety.

Haha i use daily chili saus and sambal on my food as a young boy with a indonesian father i use to eat peanutbutter with black sambal manis (sweet ) now i when i eat i use sweet chili saus my daughters say you can not tast your food you tast chili saus 🤣

I brought up in Indonesia and am used to eat sambal [chili] at a very young age.Level 10 is crazy for westerners.The next morning you feel your stomach is painfull and you shit like fire and your ass is burning! OMG !! LOL !!

those quite expensive nasgor... not look really good too.. indonesian food quite normal though.. if you dont like spicy, just ask not spicy.. ayam bakar/grill chicken with sweet soy sauce, soto ayam (soto kudus,soto lamongan,soto madura..refreshing), gado2 ( indonesian salad).. nasi campur, etc..even 1 months its ok
