    Im Filipino. But im more optimistic about Vietnam than our country. Because Vietnam has a better and stronger manufacturing sector than the Philippines and the corruption in our country is too deeply entrenched with no hope in sight for it to be ever eliminated in the foreseeable future. The history of countries that were poor that became rich and industrialized all started with a strong manufacturing base. From Japan, to korea, to taiwan, Singapore, and China. All of these rich asian countries started with a strong manufacturing sector. That's why if people can remember, everything used to be made in Japan, then everything made in korea, then Singapore, Taiwan and now China. The Philippines does not have a strong manufacturing base. A strong service sector is not a good measure of future success and is vulnerable to world events such as the recent pandemic. Besides, it only means that more and more of our countrymen are leaving the country to find better paying jobs abroad. You cant become a successful country when the best and brightest keep Leaving your country and making other countries they go to even better

      Current Commie Vietnam regime has been Commie China's puppet for decades. Few Westerners know this. Since Vietnamese Commie traitor Pham Van Dong signed agreement to give Vietnam's territory to China in 1958, the traitorous Commie Vietnam regime keeps giving more islands and territories to China. Commie Vietnam's defense minister Lê Đức Anh even ordered Vietnamese sailors to stand in shallow water to be targets for Chinese Navy during the Spratly Island massacre in 1988 (search for "China´s massacre in Spratly islands [real footage 1988]" on RUclips to see the massacre), to make it easier for Commie China to invade without resistance. For his "accomplishment", he was promoted by Commie China to be President of Vietnam 4 years later (1992-1997) in 1992. Recently, it couldn't even close Vietnam's border with China at the height of the Chinese virus pandemic without its master's permission. Even Vietnam's current red flag with central yellow star was imported from Commie China in 1930's by Commie Chinese puppet Ho Chi Minh, to replace the national flag of Vietnam, the yellow flag with 3 red stripes of 2000 years since the Trung Sisters Dynasty in 40 AD. All true. Do your research!

    This is the way the Philipines make video about his country's economic. It describes his country very well but actually the philippines economy is the complete opposite of that. First, the Philippines is too dependent on services. Second, software outsourcing which he said is simply English customer support centers using good English speaking Filipinos or software testing companies. Third, the Philippines receives a huge amount of remittances and they tax the amount of remittances sent home. Compared to Vietnam, their government does not even tax and people working abroad only pay transaction fees. bank. Fourth, he said that Vietnam only outperformed the Philippines in terms of development speed but the truth is that since 2022, Vietnam's GDP has surpassed the Philippines and Vietnam is better than the Philippines in general indicators such as income inequality. income, the proportion of people living below the poverty line, the human development index (HDI) and even the level of the information technology industry, Vietnam is also one of the countries with the top programmer qualifications in East Asia South Asia.
    In general, with the inconsistent policies of the Philippine government when drawing dreamy scenarios on the economy and infrastructure with the main purpose of corruption and gaining votes in each election, perhaps people The Philippines will have to suffer and live in false hope for a while longer.

    Who would have thought that Vietnam has poised to surpass Philippines economic position over Vietnam?
    According to International Monetary Fund (IMF) that the Philippines GDP is now ranked lower than Vietnam.
    In post pandemic, foreign investments are leaving China and now marching in massive numbers towards Vietnam.
    Thus making Vietnam speed much faster in a race for economic superiority harder for the Philippines to catch up with Vietnam.
    Being a Filipino myself, I feel embarrassed about what the Philippines has become - as a laughing joke among our other ASEAN peers.

Vietnam has experienced fast economic growth in recent years, driven by manufacturing, exports, and foreign direct investment. While The Philippine economy has been characterized by steady growth, driven by industries such as business process outsourcing, remittances from overseas Filipino workers, and a growing service sector. The country also has a young and well-educated workforce, which can contribute to its economic potential. However, the Philippines also faces challenges such as income inequality, infrastructure gaps, and vulnerability to natural disasters. Overall, both the Philippines and Vietnam have their own unique strengths and opportunities for economic development.

    What if Philippines will removed the FDI restriction, maybe it will become much more Singapore but the problem is there large group entities here that wont make that happen specially the Oligarch monopoly.

    • @viethavn
      @viethavn 9 месяцев назад +5

      Lifting FDI restrictions is only a small part. It is important to have free trade agreements, companies investing in the Philippines will not be subject to taxes when exporting. The second is political stability, without too many policy changes, and labor laws must be transparent and in line with international requirements. Third, the workforce must be skilled. Companies do not want to spend too much time on training. Some high-tech industries cannot even recruit workers if the country does not invest in education.

      Previously, Vietnam also asked similar questions. If the market opens, foreign businesses will flood into Vietnam, Vietnamese businesses will either go bankrupt or be acquired. If domestic enterprises are really strong and competitive enough, the market should be opened for foreign enterprises to invest.

    • @fkoff7649
      @fkoff7649 9 месяцев назад

      BOTH COUNTRIES MAY BE DEPENDENT ON CHINA BUT SO AS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES. ALSO, COMPARED TO WHAT CHINA IS GETTING FROM BOTH VIETNAM AND PHILIPPINES, CHINA EARNS MORE PROFIT, SO IN OTHER WORDS, CHINA IS MORE HEAVILY DEPENDENT ON PHILIPPINES AND VIETNAM TO KEEP CHINA'S ECONOMY GROWING, SO CHINA SHOULD NOT BITE THE HANDS THAT FEED HIM. NOT JUST VIETNAM AND PHILIPPINES BUT MANY OTHER COUNTRIES LIKE THE U.S., CANADA, JAPAN, AUSTRALIA, ETC. SO CHINA SHOULD NOT THINK THE WORLD OWES HIM, WHEN CHINA OWES THE WORLD. SO YOU CAN REPHRASE YOUR STATEMENT. ALSO UNLESS YOU ARE A CERTIFIED ECONOMIST, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL PHILIPPINES THE SICK MAN OF ASIA, YOU WILL BE CALLED A LIAR IS YOU SAY THAT. ALSO, PHILIPPINES WAS EVEN RICHER THAN CHINA, SINGAPORE, SOUTH KOREA ,AND TAIWAN BACK IN THE DAY WHICH WERE ALL 3RD WORLD COUNTIES BACK THEN. THEY'RE JUST LUCKY TO HAVE GOOD GOVT.

And in 2024, foreign visitors to Vietnam is expected to be 2.5 times larger than the Philippines gets.

      GDP isn’t a good way to see the “richness” of countries.
      It depends on GDP per capita. Which is the average income the country’s population.
      PH - 4,168 (2024)
      VN - 4,636 (2024)
      So the average Vietnamese person is richer than the filipino.
      The Phillippines has horrible and corrupt government, bad transportation, bad geography, bad weather, it’s hot year round, horrible slums, really bad crime, and a bad tourism industry.
      GDP ≠ How rich your country is. India has a 3T GDP but it’s extremely poor.
