After a little investigating the Green/Orange light means its a slow charge. Thats great news as it means this totally works as a dock and presents no issues at all. Thanks for watching.
I just bought a Baseus 7-in-1 hub for $16. Actually was going to cancel before it shipped because I later heard some problems people had with it, but I gotta say, I'm having a better experience with the hub than the official dock so far. Picture switches over faster than the official dock and charging works great on it (I'm using a 100w wall charger).
It does still work but I have since purchased the actual Dock from Valve. I don’t think the hubs have the upscaling technology the dock has. I also wanted the ability to stand my deck upright which my hub didn’t allow. I play handheld way more often than docked. Thanks for the comment.
@@PaulBurns99 I would guess not. One could assume Nintendo does some proprietary stuff making sure their system works with their dock only. The Steam Deck is basically a small PC so it benefits from using other dock setups. Worth a shot though. If you find out otherwise come back and let us know. Thanks.

Awesome! My issue was the Hubs ability to upscale the resolution. I have since purchased the actual dock from Valve. Thanks for the comment.
I dont think the steam dock does any upscaling, its the deck itself@@TheSonofHarold
