The squid at .5 looks remarkably similar to the Giant Squid that was captured on film in that one animal planet documentary back in (i think) 2013. It could be a juvenile giant squid.
The ocean scares me and this is the reason! There are big scary creatures in there, which I do have the utmost respect for and admire from up here on land where I belong. The guy who jumped in to be with the giant squid so he could get up close and personal, I will never understand. Whatever we need to do to save our oceans and the creatures that reside there we just need to get it done. The strange and wild world we live in is all a miracle and we have to protect it. They are beyond transfixing… Which is why it seems a shame that the Magnapinna are so misrepresented, by the very same image that’s on your merch! It’s a compelling image, to be sure, but very misleading : They don’t have a big, scary face on their mantles, they have a small, see-through head underneath ; with big black eyes at the bottom, right over their tentacles… In other words, not so scary after all! There are literally things floating around in the pitch black deep oceans that are more ‘alien’ than the aliens portrayed in films! God only knows what is RARE down there and has never even been seen by humans yet. What a strange existence it must be to be born one of these animals? To live your life in total darkness, floating around the depths trying to find food you can’t even see. So strange.

What always gets me is how do creatures so delicate survive in such a crushing environment.
I believe it's because they are made up of a high percentage of water.
Something to do with atoms as well that protect their cells.
The pressure is equalized within their body. The reason the environment is crushing for submarines is because of the pressure differential.
Also most of these creatures have no bones, maybe just cartilage or something that helps.
🦑 🐙 coolest animalw
The increased pressure acts as extra support essentially. They all survive because they all are delicate
