I tried this build today. At first I didn't understand anything and was disappointed. But an hour later a miracle happened! I have passed five golden levels. Thank you, robot!❤
No problem. Once you learn how to use it, it is extremely strong. It's why I also encourage people to watch the streams where I play this type of build. You can see how powerful it can be 😈
Just wanna mention quickly: the knockdown/knockback direction is not determined by your relative position to your enemies, but which direction you're facing at by the end of the cast. For example, if you're facing West, even though your tethered enemies are standing North from you, they'll get flung towards the West. This allows for some creative gameplay: Flinging hordes of enemies off a cliff you're standing next to, throwing shooters/gunners sideways out of their covers, pulling bursters away from your teammares if they're coming from an angle, pulling trappers/hounds closer to yourself/teammates to melee, etc.
I hope as the game ages, the skill trees continue to expand or maybe even new classes added along. As much as I love the skill tree, it could definitely use some more variety! I’m having a blast as a Smite Psyker
I have no doubt that new trees and classes will be introduced. However for that to happen the devs need to see the content getting views and the players being interested in the game. So be sure to always like and share where you can. The more we put the vids and content out there. The more people will come and pick up the game 😁✌️
Tried it in a high-intensity hunting-ground damnation game and I felt like a god for my teammates. Was finally able to enjoy smite without the bug, thx for the build.
Seems like a solid build and strategy! The extra soulblaze on hordes to deal decent damage on them while controlling seems like a good edition for smite's generally low damage. Releasing smite, quelling, and re-doing it also seems way more efficient than the people just holding smite.
Yup. This is what I discovered works for Auric runs. The infinite smite will just get you and your team mostly killed. Playing like a Sith Lord works far better. Fling enemies and destroy them with Voidstrike or Surge as needed.
yeah, I've been doing that as well. even before seeing this video, I quickly realized that I can use smite to knock hordes on their ass and then close that distance with my melee if I so choose without fear of retaliation. I love it :D I've also used it a lot to chain as much as possible, then knock enemies down to revive a teammate whos down without getting my ass clapped.

I prefer shield mainly for the toughness Regen perk it gives i built my build to do cc and support to help my team keep toughness up and the toughness Regen perk that in empowered psionics tree and the bug will probably be fixed but I think the toughness replenishment perks really help my team out staying alive and me still being able to do dmg with my staff and melee weapon
I find guns work the best with smite, the only things I feel like I ever need from my ranged weapon slot is just raw single target dps and a long ranged option. Guns actually let you help during a boss, kill far away enemies, and because you don’t need to charge them you can swap while they’re still stunned by smite. Also it’s a backup option when you’re already high on insanity and unless you really start waisting ammo you can go a whole level without an ammo pickup
Thanks for the great build! This is what my smite build looks like but I use a surge voidstrike staff and sacrifice a couple of points at the top to grab true aim in the bottom right to help guarantee crits. The crit only procs on a ranged attack so you can do one or two cleaves with your force sword to guarantee your next staff attack will delete any elite.
If it works for you go ahead. My voidstrike even without Surge handles elites nicely and I never pull out my force sword, so it's not a playstyle I can use, but if it works for you, then you should always do you 😁✌️
It's a stun and does little damage as shown in the video 😁👍. Smite is a CC skill (crowd control). Its purpose is to disable groups of enemies for your team to kill while dealing a little bit of extra damage to make it easier for your team. The additional damage is minimal
No problem, however I do not recommend it with Empowered psionics for the limitless lightning bug. No only are you giving up the damage and reduced peril generation of the warp charges from warp siphon (and 16% bonus damage is huge), but you are also over reliant on Smite which does minimal damage, ideally you will want to be switching your smite on and off so you can fling targets and use your staff effectively. So consider trying this playstyle first, before attempting Empowered Psionics. You can also check the streams where I tested this to see it's effectiveness at higher level play. I assume this is a bug as there is no notes on it unless I missed something, but if you go with Empowered Psionics and Smite, when you cast smite using a charge you can hold down the smite as long as you have targets and generate no Peril. Obviously you move very slowly but basically you can lock down things unless you are interrupted. Its kind of amusing (and broken).
Yes this is a well known bug. It's documented in my Psyker Skill Tree video. However even abusing the bug is useless in Auric level missions and can easily lead to team wipes. Especially when the Psyker is over focused on it.

Death is the best CC after all. Not to mention smite has terrible damage, even with soul blaze stacks so using it for damage is pointless. Smite is best used on packs of ragers or crushers/maulers; Or dogs if you are on hunting grounds.

@@RealAsianRobot Thank you! Oh by the way. I know I am a noob and probably dumb but I watched your video on brain rupture and I do think the spell has some nice things about it like the fact it has unlimited range on it 😁😁
@@LivinProoof Yeah, it's just trash at higher levels because the current way the game works is entirely speed based. Gotta be fast like sanic or die haha
Will have to disagree on Surge staff stat priority: charge rate of the thing is so fast already that i found charge speed to be my dump stat (especially with warp flurry boosting charge rate into overdrive) while warp resistance being 2nd, or at most 3rd most important thanks to how much peril it generates. on the side note, i like how void staff is polar opposite, with moderate peril generation making peril resistance it's dump stat while charge rate being very important. Nice to see different staves having different stat priorities and not being carbon copies of each other. If only we had more viable blessing options... oh, and i tend to completely ignore quell speed thanks to 30% increase from talents which covers all my needs ever. Makes finding good items easier when you have 2 stats you dont care at all XD As for talents, i will have to advocate for Kinetic Deflection. You dont need it most of the time, but when you need it, you REALLY need it XD
Yeah I don't bother with Kinetic Deflection because if it gets to that stage where things are that bad, it's already going to be messed up lol. But anyway, I can agree to what you said about Stat priority on the Surge staff, I night try to roll one with higher resistance and lower charge rate in future, but damage and crit bonus are the must have haha
The charge rate on surge is a dump stat 100% the difference between max charge and min charge is 0.4 seconds with an 80% staff being 0.93 secons if you're telling me and people that chargerate is important because it offers at best an increase of 0.2 seconds faster casting over any other stat you're crazy @@RealAsianRobot and you can see this information in game pressing inspect on the surge and hovering over chargerate.
This is almost the exact build I’ve been using since the patch. Except I grab +4% warp damage instead of perilous combustion and warp charges can stack up to 6 times instead of +5% crit chance but everything else is the exact same. Just wanted to say my preference, great video though!
Fair enough, I recommend the +5% crit chance though. It is extremely potent if you run Smite with Voidstrike. Otherwise I can agree with the rest of your choices 😁✌️. I may drop Perilous Combustion to be fair in favour of the 6 warp charges though. That's also one of the modifications I often make for my own builds
It is useless, cooldown aura is infinitely better. It gives your entire team more ults, which if you don't know are the best single thing anyone can do.
So, I don't know if this is a bug, but I prefer the Mark IV Blaze Sword, as it currently has no dodge cap, making it useful against bosses as opposed to the Mk V, besides the good ol' wiener sword does really good powered heavy attack damage. I agree with Surge Staff, though, people really sleep on it, but it can down Crushers and Bulwarks in particular faster than Voidstrike from my experience.
Um, all Force Swords have no Dodge Limit, just so you know. So any Force Sword can be used. Voidstrike can actually down Crushers and Bulwarks faster than Surge, BUUUUUT you need to hit the head with a full charge and its charge rate is slower than Surge unfortunately, but roll whichever staff you feel is best. Nothing wrong with loving the Surge.
Good video and build, but why not take the 6th warp charge along with getting warp charges back from enemies dying to soulblaze which is designed around Shrieks soulblaze talent and works great with it. So Shrieking at crit peril on a horde will probably replenish most of your warp charges just from that which keeps your damage bonus up majority of time and your Shriek cooldown is almost ready to go again if needed. Also using Shriek while you are Smiting the horde works great to let you hold it longer or pivoting to another threat group as you don't need to recast, it will just auto target where you look. Relying on only elites and 4% of party kills is more inconsistent and probably more low warp charges on avg. Also, have you tested the first row talent for getting toughness on warp kill? I've seen others math it out and is probably considered the most effective by a lot of the toughness replenishment talents, as well gives you more push through while attacking.
For the Warp Kill it's okay, you can take it if you want honestly, but I prefer quietude. I have no problems running it at Auric level and thats where all my testing is done. You can check the streams to verify this ;). Math is a theory, practical testing is all that matters. So I encourage you to test what you think might work in Auric Damnation runs and then see if it performs better. It might fit your playstyle better than mine As for warp charges on soulblaze, it was a talent that existed before the update and I'm going to tell you straight you can ignore the math on the soulblaze, especially from your shrieking vent. It will barely do anything at Damnation level (and all of my builds are designed to be optimized for every difficulty). So it's better to restore warp charges no matter who gets the kill. It's why my builds work at Auric level ;). You can try it for yourself and see. I only play the hardest content and in order to carry bad randoms sometimes you will min-max a build. 6 warp charges is not needed, it's only 8% extra damage. I'd rather have warp rider and more crits.
@@RealAsianRobot Hey, thanks for the very quick response! I only play at damnation level as well and I only run the warp death / crit kill toughness replenishment talents only which seems to be enough for me. I've watched a bunch of your vids and consider you a better player than me for sure. I've found though that the 4% from all players to unreliable. I also take the cd reduction aura so I can take both the peril toughness and the dodge talent on crit for additional survival as the 10% elite damage tends to not reach any new breakpoints / I don't notice a difference in killing elites with it. But again, thanks for the great response. I didn't catch if you mentioned in this vid, but it was your tip from a much earlier vid about Shriek going through walls and floors which has been immensely useful to me in knocking doggo's off party members when they are far away or out of reach.
@MindShadowInk no worries. As long as it works for you, then that's all that matters. There are always going to be variations in builds and somethings will work better for those with playstyles that suit them 😁✌️. So if you've done your testing. Then enjoy 😁. For me though, I find quietude better as it works even in situations where I cannot get a fast kill. (Which can be in some extreme circumstances) For me though the 4% definitely works. I always have max warp charges. Though then again, it could be because I murder all the elites 🤣🤣 Anyway, i usually respond if I can. I like to talk with the community
@@RealAsianRobot I always took Quietude most of the time in the past and wish I could squeeze it in my build now as it offers up a good chunk of padding if you screw up and doggo or mutant grabs you, and in fire if you have any peril on you, which I am usually at a high level of it all the time.
@MindShadowInk Yeah, I worked a lot of different talents but Quietude worked the most to minimize the points I need for the build. But what I love is the flexibility for players to also choose their own playstyle
Been playing VoidStrike\Asail and loving it but Asail seems to be nerfed since pt.2 of patch (still need to watch your pt.2 update stream) but wana try Surge/Smite. I actually just scored\crafted a badass VoidStrike (Surge/Nexus) posted on Reddit/DarkTide, time to craft my near endgame Surge ^^; Seems they killed the Illisi unlimited doge as well >.>
@@RealAsianRobot out of all the Force swords I’m really digging the Illisi so far, just experienced the Bolter on my Vet, about to see if you have any guides for that, although I know most prefer the Plasma
@Tekjive No guides for Boltgun because it is drastically inferior to the plasma gun. Like you'll genuinely be hurting yourself by picking a boltgun over a plasma. My plasma build drops tonight. I recommend trying it and you will no longer go back. Illisi is a good force sword but the psyker fares far better with the dueling sword right now 😁👍

To make things more clear: Leftclick = Singletarget with high impact. Rightclick+Leftclick (Hold both after charge) = multiple targets, either hold until 100% for Permastun or release when u got linked your targets for area Knockdown.
I would avoid holding to 100%. It is much better to release it early and fling your enemies 😁✌️. But other than that, yeah, more or less what you said.
hmm cc or max dps to kill the horde, befor its go danger ... i stay whit assail + scriers gaze.. destroy everything in few sec.. tanky stuff kills than other guy
ok I am new to the game I am trying to use smite but when I charge it up I cant figure out how to release it I tried evey dam button it is fustrating me .UGHHH I dont get it
That is very weird lol, it is indeed supposed to be left mouse button after you charge it up. Just hold the right mouse button and then press and hold the left mouse button once fully charged. You can actually see this in my latest video. I show my keyboard and mouse inputs as I play 😁👍
Great video, but one recommendation: when explaining the Skill Tree build, please don’t say “you guys already know how this works” or “you’ve seen this before” or something similar. It’s super unhelpful to new viewers like myself who come to your channel looking for explanations for which skills you selected and hearing “you already know this” is just unhelpful to me. Other than that, great work!
Noted, however in that case, I highly suggest tuning into streams and also watching other videos rather than specific ones. Initially, I focused only on one class at a time, hence a lot of the prior videos are important 😁✌️. I only ask you to consider that, because when Patch 13 dropped there was a huge influx of viewers and saving time became much more important since viewers were always tuned in. Going forward this will happen less, but I urge you to set your notifications to 'all' and tune in whenever we have a show. A lot of the learning is done there 😁👍
Psykinetics Aura is beneficial, no doubt, but mind in motion and the +5% Toughness damage reduction is a HUGE lifesaver in Auric runs, because it the sheer amount of elites that will come at you, will tend to screw you over completely. This is why mind in motion is used often. It is a forced choice if you go with Assail, but it also ALWAYS APPLIES. Psykinetics Aura only applies when I make the specialist/elite kill, which may not always be the case because a Smite Psyker may relegate themselves to CC at times. For this reason I prefer to have something I can count on 24/7. If you want to roll Psykinetics Aura, just give up the +5% Toughness and and mind in motion. You will arrive at practically the same build. In fact you can even give up Inspiring presence to avoid losing the Toughness DR 😁✌️. So I don't disagree with your choice, modify the build as needed to suit your own purposes after testing what works for you.
@@RealAsianRobot I see your point and that is the cool thing about new talents, we both can have different angles, I guess is based on playstyle, but I usually pair smite with voidstrike and shield, all the other talents quite the same. I personally thing that currently on auric based on how much damage you do especially with voidstrike, I think you get lot of value of psykinetic aura, because most of the time I would rather blow up stuff with the staff than stun, because enemies are line up or aren't still a threat for my team to stun them. Giving CDR to zealot spiritual fortitude or veteran voice of command is huge imo. This is specially true with only melee modifiers or hound/mutant waves, because you can one shot crushers (try surge, you will love it is just nasty), or kill 8 dogs for a 40% cdr to the whole team. Also consider the thoughness regeneration from mettle, with voidstrike you can just throw a random ball hit 10 or 20 enemies and go from 0 to full every 1 or 2 seconds, is ridiculous when you have double hit + 30-40% crit.
@aleixruizsorribes yeah our experiences definitely differ because my Zealots are all selfish stealth users and so are my veterans. The matches we win are the ones where my Zealots and Vets buff the team. If I could consistently get that, I would happily take Psykinetics Aura, BUUUUT that never happens so here I am instead 😏😏
@@RealAsianRobotYeah, i feel that, is one of the sad parts of the new update, greedy people throwing the games. I don't know how many zealot stealth knife rushers I had on my games dying 30 seconds in 300m away, that is why I am lately only playing with a premade support zealot and we both carry the auric maelstrom game else it gets impossible.

Makes finding good items easier when you have 2 stats you dont care at all XD
As for talents, i will have to advocate for Kinetic Deflection.
The charge rate on surge is a dump stat 100% the difference between max charge and min charge is 0.4 seconds with an 80% staff being 0.93 secons if you're telling me and people that chargerate is important because it offers at best an increase of 0.2 seconds faster casting over any other stat you're crazy @@RealAsianRobot
and you can see this information in game pressing inspect on the surge and hovering over chargerate.
YOU'RE A LEGEND DUDE, SUBBING ASAP.
Thanks 😁✌️. If enough of you sub, I'll definitely end up becoming legendary haha
@@RealAsianRobot I got some buds that play, I got you~
Is kinetic presence still worth it now that it’s only 5% to just elites?
Yes and no, it's usually picked if you have no other choice lol. I will be retesting the ideal build for patch #16 soon
It is useless, cooldown aura is infinitely better. It gives your entire team more ults, which if you don't know are the best single thing anyone can do.
good work. Thx
OMG angry marines profile. LOVE IT!@
ALWAYS ANGRY, ALL THR TIME!!!! ;)
Are you going to cover the other classes? Been struggling with making builds but every game i join always seems to have at least 2 Psykers already.
Yes, after all my Psyker stuff is done, which is tomorrow basically :D
Question, how did you remove the Peril screen effect? It's super annoying ;(
It is the price you must pay for power
You cannot remove the Peril screen effect. You can only reduce the FX sound I think. It's in the interface menu
It might fit your playstyle better than mine
As for warp charges on soulblaze, it was a talent that existed before the update and I'm going to tell you straight you can ignore the math on the soulblaze, especially from your shrieking vent.
(Which can be in some extreme circumstances)
For me though the 4% definitely works. I always have max warp charges. Though then again, it could be because I murder all the elites 🤣🤣
Anyway, i usually respond if I can.
I actually just scored\crafted a badass VoidStrike (Surge/Nexus) posted on Reddit/DarkTide, time to craft my near endgame Surge ^^; Seems they killed the Illisi unlimited doge as well >.>
Yeah Illisi has no unlimited dodge so this old build should not be followed. I will be updating them for the new patch soon!
Illisi is a good force sword but the psyker fares far better with the dueling sword right now 😁👍
@@RealAsianRobot ahh damn, ya from what I’m seeing/playing the Boltgun is just …too nerfed. Also did they remove the recticle completely from it? And so far I’m loving the plasma build :)
To make things more clear:
Leftclick = Singletarget with high impact.
Like playing the funny space wizard
It is always fun to be a space Wizard ;)
hmm cc or max dps to kill the horde, befor its go danger ... i stay whit assail + scriers gaze.. destroy everything in few sec.. tanky stuff kills than other guy
Sure, have fun :)
I really thought the infinite smite bug was official. Felt that way lol
Yeah it's not lol
Yes new character classes
? it's just skill tress bro haha
ok I am new to the game I am trying to use smite but when I charge it up I cant figure out how to release it I tried evey dam button it is fustrating me .UGHHH I dont get it
It is supposed tp be left mouse but nothing happens wth?
A lot of the learning is done there 😁👍
You are literally skipping the most broken talent, 5% CDR on elite specialist kill to the whole team for quelling while running...
