X-Men 97 already has two more confirmed seasons. The second season was written by the original showrunner, but he's not there for the third season. I hope they get him back, though.

I'm so cynical now, all I can think is they failed so badly at "strong female character", they're falling back on THE strong female character. I'm fully aware that's probably unfair, and we need to wait and see, but giving the benefit of the doubt has been wrong so often at this point...

@ian-flanagan I understand your feelings as when people discuss a strong female character done correctly, they holdup Ripley. However, Disney doesn't just need Weaver's acting ability. They need very competent writers. I'm not at all confidant they will do so.
@@ian-flanagan That is always a concern. Their writing leaves a lot to be desired, particularly when it comes to strong female characters.
Some of the early info about the series said that Mae had a twin sister. I wonder if she is even involved in the Indara fight. There’s nothing in the footage that has been released that makes Indara seem in danger of being killed, so maybe someone else gets involved …
Sigourney Weaver will always be Ripley for me, but she should have a good role in Star Wars. Yes, I said "should." It's up to the WRITERS not to botch this opportunity for Sigourney and give her the Holdo treatment. They should be able to write a great character and great character arc for Sigourney, and for the fans.

An assassin that likes clothes that are noisy and hair that gets in your eyes and face when doing ballet kicks. In a universe full of gadgets, suits and masks but okay. Is it weird to have memba berries that made up stuff used to make sense pre-Disney?
We have seen in the High Republic books/comics that running into dark-siders isn't entirely uncommon. You have groups such as the Yacombe or Sorcerers of Tund who do use the dark side but really aren't all too much of a threat to the Jedi or Republic. I think the difference with Maul is that Qui-Gon was immediately able to suss out that this is an individual who is far more powerful and skilled than any other dark side affiliated threat who the Jedi have dealt with in recent years. Since Maul obviously doesn't announce who he's aligned with there really aren't many options other than a resurgent Sith.

Does “Mrs. Thor” work with/for Linus Tech Tips? I was listening to a tech news video yesterday… and there was someone in the background “heckling” the presenter… and the “heckler” sounded a lot like “Mrs. Thor”.
Multiple personalities -- one a Jedi, one a 'dark side user' (not a Sith!), is the solution, I suspect she could suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder, unless acolyte of the dark side is a reoccurring problem over the 1,000 years. I

Broken like Luke was, but with a compelling story as to why, and a creative redemption arc? Use Daisy too, for flashback scenes that show her fall.... Introducing a new cast and move forward from there?

I can see Sigourney Weaver as a Red Sun associate, A. Ventress, making her way in a corrupted galaxy with accepted associations among all political alliances so long as the credits are respected currencies where she does business.

we were perfectly fine in a world with just red green and blue lightsabers. star wars is more than 'oh look wow cool lightsaber colors' (referencing the need of the acolyte to emphasize yellow lightsabers)
I mean to be fair in Legends there were even more lightsaber colors like Orange/silver/ruby...

Is it really a "problem"? Darth Plagueis and Darth Tenebrous would have a few things to say about the wording of "working around" the lack of Sith. Let's just call it like it is: Master Mundi is just generalizing and probably had information about the Sith fed to him on a need-to-know basis from Yoda.
Why would Yoda want to hide the return of the Sith from other Jedi?
@@istari0 Simple: Because Drew Karpyshyn made the Rule of two a secret doctrine of the Sith after George Lucas had Yoda cite it in the Phantom Menace, so the ensuing plot hole was boarded over in the usual way: Jedi behaving in a stupid but plot-convenient way.
I haven't been keeping up with any of the star wars shows because I'm not interested in any, but I get the impression the acolyte is trying to be like the 'Tales of the Jedi' comic series with Exar Kun and Ulic Qel Droma.

Yeah, it shows you haven't kept up with or read the material you're citing. They are are very different, The Sith are not undercover, but in fact operate openly in the two big conflicts of TotJ. The first few storylines are more akin to Jedi-centric High Republic in general, not so much the Acolyte.
Sigourney Weaver would be a welcome addition to Star Wars! I first saw her in Alien itself back in 79.
