Careful with that chainsaw blade on the angle grinder... It usually wins against the digits. Its a shredder... Almost lost 2 fingers from it catching and kicking back
Rajesh - Angle grinder, chainsaw blade, shaping disc from King Arthur Tools, and a 2" sanding disc and drill. www.etsy.com/shop/AbelsWoodworking?ref=profile_header
@@ciaranosullivan7791 It doesn’t matter how you stack them…you can make it as thick/thin as you want. The beauty of plywood! Yes, I glued them together with wood glue.
Tom - I don't recall the exact dimensions, but I believe it was around 12 inches in height, and 48 inches in length. The beauty of these pieces is that they can be cut to any size!
The first one was 14 Tooth Chain Disk for woodworking and second one was a Shaping Disk but I do not know if it was medium or fine. You may find them on Amazon. Anyway, the result is very nice.
If every person worked the same type of wood in the same way, whether they are a carpenter or artist, the world would be a very boring place indeed. I like the end result uncomplicated, beautiful and tactile. This is art. 🙂
The idea or visualization of a project even before it is done is something artistic. I believe that the choice of plywood is part of the idea of creating this striped effect ... then you may like it or not. The final effect, in my opinion , is pleasant.
Did someone call your cat ugly again and you just decided to take it out on someone else? I think that it’s kinda cool that he made something that is 3D and has patterns, colors, and shapes from a piece of plywood.
The grain and design is beautiful!
Very very nice carving my friend I really like it thank you from Doug
I appreciate that, thank you, Doug!
Absolutely amazing!!!

Thanks! 3/4” standard plywood
An amazing job!
What kind of wood is this?
Thanks Luke… this is standard plywood. Nothing fancy!
How many sheets of plywood? How thick is it please. And it’s amazing thanks
Thank you - I believe it was 3 sheets of 3/4” plywood. However, after looking further… it may have been 4 sheets. Glued together.
That’s amazing!! You are extremely talented!!! You have hands of gold!!
Thank you!
What is wood and where can you buy it?
C’est quoi comme bois ? Ou on peut en trouver ??
Beautiful grain
Thanks!
Is that a grinder? What type of attachment?
What kind of wood is this?
It’s actually just standard plywood
Was it curly birch and a 3 slot arbotech wheel or a 12 tooth carving round ?
Standard plywood… although Birch would look FANTASTIC. Yes, 12 tooth carving round.
Inspiring work! I'm going to try it...emphasizing TRY. How long do you have to wait for the glue between the boards to dry before you can start?
Brian - that’s great. You gotta start somewhere! I believe I waited 7 days for the glue to dry before I started carving.
@@ajernst1 Thanks! Yeh, I'm on my 5th piece now. Giving my latest one to parents. Now I'll be moving onto 'real' wood (non-ply). :D
@@brianbatts5073 That's awesome!! I'm working on a few more pieces with different types of wood.
Careful with that chainsaw blade on the angle grinder... It usually wins against the digits. Its a shredder... Almost lost 2 fingers from it catching and kicking back
No doubt… keep a firm grip!
Very Groovy 🙏
Thanks!
What are the tools that you used
Rajesh - Angle grinder, chainsaw blade, shaping disc from King Arthur Tools, and a 2" sanding disc and drill. www.etsy.com/shop/AbelsWoodworking?ref=profile_header
Nice
Nice! What was the bit you used in the drill? The yellow one that you did the sanding with.
Hey Victor - it was a 2" sanding disc with various grits of sand paper. Though it wasn't necessary on this piece, I took the grit up to 600.
How many pieces of Ply thick is it? 4?5?
3 sheets of 3/4” plywood - thanks!
How many did you stack high is what I meant? Looks like 4-5 pieces high
@@ArtByKevinZapata It's actually just 3 pieces of plywood stacked up. The 3/4" plywood is pretty thick.
Very cool! What are you using two layers of three-quarter inch plywood it looks like? Job well done
Thank you! It was 3 layers of 3/4 in plywood.
It's lovely, does it matter how you stack the plywood pieces, and did you glue them together? Thanks
@@ciaranosullivan7791 It doesn’t matter how you stack them…you can make it as thick/thin as you want. The beauty of plywood! Yes, I glued them together with wood glue.
Too Cool or tool cool. Either way, great work.
What liquid did you use to bring out the grain on this piece.
Boiled linseed oil
EPiC!!!
Hey, what’s the general overall dimensions on this piece?
Tom - I don't recall the exact dimensions, but I believe it was around 12 inches in height, and 48 inches in length. The beauty of these pieces is that they can be cut to any size!
very good i think i will try and make my own. i imagine there is a lot of mess afterwards 😂
Yes...lots of dust!
What kinda wood is that?
3/4” standard plywood - 3 sheets glued together

Jakie to drewno ? Pozdrawiam
3/4” standard plywood.
What kind of wood were you using? Just different kinds glued together?
It's plywood.
@@oldmanfromscenetwentyfour8164 Very thick ply or did you glue 2 pieces together?
It’s standard 3/4” plywood… 3 sheets… wood glued together. Thanks!
What bit did you use in the grinder? And what was the wood you used?
The first one was 14 Tooth Chain Disk for woodworking and second one was a Shaping Disk but I do not know if it was medium or fine. You may find them on Amazon.
Anyway, the result is very nice.
I think he had multiple sheets of plywood glued together in order to get the required thickness.
This is awesome! Great job👍🏼
I love this! I want to try this.
@@DanBitoiu I agree from what you can see in the beginning. Great idea.
🤩
Is that the Green Fine Holey Galahad?
Yes! Sorry for the delay... Green Fine Holey Galahad from King Arthur Tools.
клас))) какое это дерево???
Это походу фанера склеена в толстую доску
Фанера из хвойных пород.
Отлично!
Thanks!
its laminated wood glued together.
