Ahhhh Slaine the Horned God, yes one of the best Comics i've ever read and i've collected thousands. I let my uncle borrow it once, he loved it. Are there any more painted Slaine stories anyone could recommend? I just noticed ''Book of Invasions'', anything else though? Pat Mills has to be one of my FAVORITE writers of all time. I love Finn, Brats Bizzare, ABC Warriors, Legend of Shamana, Meralzoic, Punsiher 2099, and of course Marshal Law. Thank you!
It is hard to explain how radical this art was when it came out. Bisley's ink spattered madness compared to the clean inks of, for instance Savage Sword of Conan (which I also loved). Truly changed fantasy art.
iv been reading 2000ad for years , always has been my escape , i thank you . as an Irishman and lover of our mythology and cultures , you sir have done this story a service i use this graphic to introduce Irish mythology to those who seek the wisdom of organ. may Danu give life to your clan .
I really hope Patt will make a Slaine story with Clint Langley about the Cytrons. The formodians in Book of Invasions where so more thought out in these books and Clint made them sooooo scary. I really think that they can make the cytrons really cool. A whole section about experiments on humans, how they melt humans and drink them as a milkshake. That kind of gross stuff. Its a instant buy for me.
Apparently, according to what I’ve read, the Celtic warriors who fought naked were the elite. And they believed that the gods gave them armour, not items of clothing. I remember reading it but don’t quote me on where. I believe it was maybe something Tacitus or Pliny wrote.

I loved the Horned god story. Probably one of my favourites, along with Judgment on Gotham.
