My band is playing this for our halftime show, it's the second in the list. As drum major conducting this is fun I like to feel the beat and conduct in a fun style instead of the normal boring way.
Anyone get this song in marching band along with a few other songs like land of 1000 dances, runaway baby, holiday, hey baby, the hey song, and March Grandioso? I'm not gonna say what state/city it is for obvious reasons, but did anyone else get these?
Ok, how do the brass do that weird gliss when they hold out a dotted half note at the end of the melody? I wanna learn to do glisses but i have no idea where to start
@@LilWindex1378 talking about trumpet though. I can do that ez on trombone cos its practically built to do that. I've heard of half valving on trumpet but I'm unsure how that works
@@dawgstudioswoohoo oh, to glissando, you play your targeted note, and after you have 2 options, option 1 is go ham on your valves in the gliss pattern, option 2 is push the unpressed valves half way down then back up after the effect, thank you,
Why they always gotta change the rhythm of the melody to make it too cut and dry? It’s harder to learn a new part than just writing it to match the original
nah its a good arrangement. Dawson knows what hes doing, itll be something the crowd can easily recongnize, and its written so that every instrument gets something challenging to do depending on their skill level. At least its not like Paul Murtha's baritones play F the entire time
@@linknlogs2273 I'm not sure about you but i could easily tell what song this was if i heard it during a football game or show without any title indication
Tempo: "Annoyed, to say the least" 😂
That's the tone not tempo
@@isaacthenoob1953 after all these years, still searching for who asked
Playing this on the trombone I can relate to that tempo a lot
@@potatoflux700 you
For those that aren’t in band, it really does say this on the sheet music
TUBA SLAPS
Can we just take a min to appreciate that trombone riff at 0:40 like omg
As a trombonist, glad you like it!
@Indianamations13 I’m a trumpet and I find it better than the trumpet part lol
Doing this song for drum major auditions… the annoyed to say the least gave me a chuckle.. love this peace for sure! Way better than the song👀
Why is this better than the actual song, and I LOVE the original song
as a tenor sax i very much appreciate having the melody at some parts
Bro this sounds so good😭 My band director gave us the part with the intention to play this but for some reason we never did😞
We did we got a score of 9 which is pretty impressive
My highschool is also playing this.As a Sousa I love the solo at the beginning.
I do the sousaphone as well. It is a pretty cool intro

Oh dude I played for this years season we went ham on that lick
I play trombone and im doing this song for marching season and that lick is SO fun😂😂
Bro they put my freshman ass on that this song but I can actually play it clean it just took 2 hours
Bro we’re playing this as a stand tune and I love when they do it and then trumpets just blast the entrance after it
I am so happy.
No one asked
im gonna have so much fun dancing to this for football games!!!! (im in drill team)
The Blugold Marching Band plays this song arranged by their director! It’s a great song for marching band
The tempo is funny
THAT'S THE TONE NOT TEMPO
@@isaacthenoob1953 ah
really fun for snares
“Annoyed to say the least” lol😂😂😂
I think this could be a large amount better if you push the trumpets into a higher octave for a majority. And engage more trombone
As a trombone player I agree
Most high school trumpet players can’t play this up an octave
Someone get Dawson for that tempo cue hahahaha
SET… DAT DAT DAT
Did this once in marching band, spread jamming this song is SO much fun

You move the slide out while blowing the note, watch some Kyle Raftery videos he glisses a lot

My band director had to rewrite because of how slow she would’ve had to direct it 😂
The one by Brian Scott was better
This is the worst arrangment I have seen Jay Dawson make. The rhythm is such a horrid arangement of the original song.
