If you can imagine, I only heard this song for the first time a couple of days ago in the car. I burst into tears and had to pull over when Gord started singing!
Gordon you inspired me to continue with my passion of making animations about the indigenous history and mental illness, I will be graduating this year of 2019 and going to school in Calgary to help people liked you’ve helped me. And Dallas you have helped me throughout junior high and high school coping with my chronic illness. Whenever I’m in the hospital I listen to ur songs which made me stronger each stay I’ve went. And alexsionfire through my Emo phase lol (I still listen to it). Thank you both, RIP Gordon, you are a legend in my eyes.
Words cannot explain the talent this man holds. He writes songs that speak to every different person in their own way. No matter what it feels like the song was written specifically for you. No other artist out there has yet to accomplish what he has.
Even if this is a 4 chord song, its one of the best songs. It gives Canadian music some redemption from some other artists who don't deserve to be mentioned. Dallas Green is a true artist and he is definately one that makes me so proud to be Canadian.
Beautiful song . Great simple cord progression no processed vocals and combined with the poignant lyrics of both him and Gord Downie this song will be around awhile. It appeals not only to young people but also anyone older. Well done
Dallas Green with his other band City and Colour here just keeps hitting homeruns with the music he writes for this band. These are some seriously deep and well written songs and this one just keeps that train a rollin' on down the tracks. Very catchy. I love this song.
There are some songs which are good and you listen to them for a while and then there are songs which will be with you for the rest of your life. For me this is one of those songs which will be played at my funeral in about 70 years.
Heard this in my friend's car yesterday, and absolutely fell in love with it!! Props to Canadian musicians. My favorite band is a Canadian rock group named Default, and now this guy has given me one of my new favorite songs (: Too bad these artists don't get enough airplay here in the States!
This song really spoke to me. I have sleep paralysis and the love of my life lives one hundred and fifty miles away. the stress created by the distance has been really difficult and this song just hit me. Amazing
Ha! I completely found this song by accident. I was searching Google for "sleeping and sickness" and being the music junkie I am I couldn't resist clicking the link. I always seem to come across the best music by accident, lol.
I found these randomly at best buy and when i put them in my phone to demo them..omfg...its so damn amazing...this guy has a true gift of wriging music and sounding so amazing ^^
I was looking for acoustic songs and everyone on my forum suggested i listen to city and colour. I'm listening to this song now, and damn i should have known such an awesome group existed.
ahhhh,,,,, this was driving me nuts! evertime I heard this song on the radio, I was only able to catch little bits of it, I couldn't figure out who the artist was. I kept hearing little bits of the Hip in there,,,, now I know why!
i would love to go see a show but i live in jersey and its tuff to convince my folks to let me travel to redic places however to see the best man in the world play his music
haha, i live in windsor. i went to the city and colour concert last night, the 93.9 ice breaker in detriot. city and colour was there with, never ending white lights, and serena ryder. it was awesome, city and colour is soo good live. GO DALLAS GREEN!
I got my new puppy today and i played this song. So my puppy started to barking when i was playin this song. So i think me and my puppy will have a good friendship =D
Idk that there's a song that could better describe the past 30 days of my life. After a very traumatic event this song is exactly like what I've been feeling and going through. The side effects of PTSD literally made me feel like I was losing my mind and didn't know where to turn. Luckily for me, I had one outlet in the form of a psychiatrist I've been seeing for a long time who's helped me in a lot of tough times and reassured me that I wasn't going insane but rather had PTSD. Amazing song...
i basically wanna cry when i hear Gordon Downie's part, its just so beautiful
Agree
Love it!!! 2020 still listening 😍😍😍
Samesies
If you can imagine, I only heard this song for the first time a couple of days ago in the car. I burst into tears and had to pull over when Gord started singing!

It's like they read my mind, transcribed it into poetic words, and put it to music. I love this song.
Even if this is a 4 chord song, its one of the best songs.

Brilliant song and we will miss you Mr Downie
Gord is not dead. He is fighting cancer. Come on man, support him, don't mourn him.
Did gord really have downs?
Dallas Green with his other band City and Colour here just keeps hitting homeruns with the music he writes for this band. These are some seriously deep and well written songs and this one just keeps that train a rollin' on down the tracks. Very catchy. I love this song.
Gords part gives me goose bumps!! like holy crap
Gord I am sorry that I did not know your art until you are no more among us yet your music keeps you alive in our heart.
What a great song. When Gord starts to sing I got goosebumps but also felt sad
Dallas Green is a musical saint. One of the most modest songwriters bringing hope to any darkness
How does this not have a million views yet? Why aren't they playing this on the radio? This song is amazing.
