Also the last race for those FOX race graphics. Only used for 2 years, but they were really good.

One of the memories I have watching this race from back in 2005 is Brian Simo finishing 10th. In a one off deal for RCR, that was some impressive drive by him.

    Ricky Rudd's last great race.

Some of my favorite lines of all time in this race. Rusty Wallace, "...I ran the whole race with half the motor running..." Then about the Jerecho transmission and everyone trying to improve it. Darrell Waltrip said, "Everybody took something that wasn't broken and worked on it 'til it was."

This race and the 2004 Kansas race were the closest that the Wood Brothers came to winning between Sadler at Bristol 2001 and Trevor Bayne in the 2011 Daytona 500.

Mike Bliss was 2005's 'Wrong place, wrong time' driver. Got caught up in a lot of other drivers' trouble (Dale Jr here, Jeff Gordon at Chicago/Brickyard, Jeremy Mayfield at Darlington)

Watching this race again, amazing that Brian Simo was the highest finishing RCR car with a 10th place finish.

Shame Rudd was on older tires than Steward had, but he did his best and made Tony earn it.

The start of Tony Stewart's ridiculous stretch of 5 wins in the next 7 races- the Summer of Smoke.

Probably what got him the championship that year. Greg Biffle was hot that year, so Tony had his work cut out for him and he earned it!

    Nascar 07 lightning challenge
    To Infineon And Beyond
    Kurt Busch
In the race he was in the 97 Crown Royal Ford Taurus as he finished 3rd
But in the challenge he was in the 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger as he was lined up 2nd with only one lap and 11 corners to pass Tony Stewart to win the race in order for the player to recreate history.

Some real surprises here- how about Dale Jarrett/Elliott Sadler/Jeremy Mayfield finishing 5-6-7?
RYR and the Dodges have historically not ran great at the road courses, but great job there.

I recall Jeff Gordon had this race until some mechanical issue like trick shocks doomed the team's chances. It was a stupid move to try an experimental thing like this.

Dale Jarrett's Herbie Love Bug paint scheme- not one of his better paint schemes (I was a big DJ fan, yet I didn't like this one despite the great finish for him on a road course, whereas I thought the Scott Riggs version for the Pepsi 400 a week later was freaking awesome.

Kurt was in his prime, so was Carl, but now, Kurt has 3 wins in the 41 for SHR, and Carl has a win in Charlotte in May for Coach Joe Gibbs, ironic, IDTS (idts means I don't think so)
