They feel really early minecraft-ish, like a prototype for potions meant for testing purposes (I love mods that feel like alternative versions of pre-existing MC stuff, it's real cool)
Tea kettle mod is so awesome, cute and creative! I want more of the special teas! How about berry tea? Carrot tea? Golden apple tea? Even spider eye tea? It feels like cocoa was mixed with coffee there. Maybe that's because there's no coffee in Minecraft, but still, strange. And imagine if you could coat your weapons with poison...
If they develop the mod further I'd like to see those all added along with a separate coffee tree in jungle biomes. They probably used cocoa beans because it's the closest thing and they technically do have caffeine as well.
The Prickly protectors being so aggressively terrible honestly makes me love them more. Like, the horrid aim? The lack of touch damage? The asymmetry with normal cactus by only having two blocks instead of three? The fact the bottom one can and will eventually kill the top? *Chef's kiss* Perfecto~ They need to be in every single mod review going forward as a recurring character, but you don't acknowledge them as a mod. They are the perfect counterpart to the Husk, not least of which because they're both desert mobs that are generally disliked, but also because they perfectly match the competence of a Zombie as well, and its funny to see them unexpectedly hurt you. Also, gotta say, the Kettle mod is surprisingly quality, i just like the way it works as a sort of simplier Alchemy; yeah you can get haste 2 and speed really fast, but only for a short time, and there's not a way to automate it. Way less work and resources, for way less gain. Its a nice trade off to make these effects not be exclusive to late/endgame.
the hair trolls have a really cool design! its super whimsical and plays off of design tropes seen in villagers, but also feel wholly unique and fit with minecraft's asethetic in a neat way. they remind me of a creature from a children's book or something, they'd made a cute flavor mod. i wish their hair had a bit more use (maybe could be crafted into string?) idk its a neat mod and i like it.
Honestly the kettle one is pretty neat. Balanced effects for the material cost, vanilla-like feel, actually useful to make. It fits into the game quite well and the way it works is quite easy.
The tea kettle one could be in mod packs if it is easily configurable. Like adjusting values and what heat source does what. Evapration of the water etc
There's a more popular and polished version of it called Farmer's Tea, it's basically the peak of kettle/tea mods, I think all those tea mods should work together to create the ultimate tea brewing mod tbh.
As someone who is so directionally challenged that they need a map mod to even play vanilla minecraft, I think the spelunker's torches are wonderful and so so handy for finding your way out of a cave.
15:00 i think it would be cool if the tourche's arrows were actually its flames poiting to the next arrow, giving the mod more of a wimsical fantasy feeling. Otherwise all of this mods are really cool
I don't know how Longshot its coded, but if what it makes its increasing the speed of the projectile, then also increases the damage because arrow damage it's determined by speed, pretty useful Anyways, great video as always man! I love that you put underrated mods in the spotlight, a lot of modders deserve that.
It would be cool if the kettle mod implemented milk spoiling in just a bucket, but then if you warm it, it will keep forever/longer/etc. give it some more benefits as well, though.
Honestly, I could totally see the Hair Troll being a vanilla mob that was added in from a mob vote if they didn't cancel it. It looks like something that could be in the base game. Imo. I think Hair Trolls would be a nice little addition to a Fantasy RPG themed mod pack.
For some reason I only watch his videos when I’m trying to fall asleep or wait for my melatonin to kick in XD like he’s interesting to listen and watch, the mods are sectioned into small parts so I don’t have to watch the video all at once, so once I’m tired I can go to bed and not feel like I’m missing out lol
would be really cool if there was a ender pearl arrow with this mod, cause you would be able to travel especially if you did multiple arrows at once you would just spawn everywhere quick
curseforge is pretty good about not letting people upload viruses, they have a pretty thorough process for it, especially since the scare back in april
I think the hot kettles are pretty cool. But it's simply too much of an annoying system with items that you mostly won't have laying around because they're useless like cocoa beans, and simply the entire system is just bad potions. And it may just remove the usefulness of potions or the opposite. So it's just a good idea but bad in the Minecraft ecosystem i guess
I've been really enjoying your videos; I love the return of Minecraft mod reviews, and you're one of my favorite channels that does these. I remember in one of the illegal mods videos you mentioned not knowing a lot about Create mods, but I think it would be interesting to see you look at a handful of them. I know pretty much nothing about them, so it would be cool to see your thoughts as a fellow outsider to that entire genre of modding... Also because I'd love to see what you think about Create: Estrogen specifically.
15:40 Wow, so this is useful how...? The torches are already incredibly close together, lol. You'd have to be stupid to not know where the next torch is.
some of these are cool, like the longshot effect, but what is the point of these small mods?? Like adding extra mods will just increase load times and possible conflict issues so no one is ever going to be able to download an entire mod that only adds a single potion effect. it's a good potion effect, but it genuinely isn't worth wasting an entire slot in a modpack for imagine if you wanted to add more potion effects and had to install each one individually! most mods need their own dependencies so most of the time you have to install 2 mods for a single mod. if you wanted like 20 new potion effects that would be like 30 mods. i dont get what the point in making these tiny mods is when no one can ever use them properly

The kettle mod feels like early game potions that you can get without the nether. Very nice.

@@RedVRCC yep, but wouldn't it be more appropriate to make hot chocolate and not latte from cocoa beans?

He does actually look like an Australian children’s book character, called “Grug”.
He was the GOAT of kids books back in the day down under.
@Myoldusernamewaswaybetter looked him up and yeah i see what you mean lol. Has no idea about this fella he looks quite charming.
The hair troll design looks like a real Minecraft mob included in a mob vote and getting snubbed for a creature that does nothing

That torch mod is actually real handy. I tend to use torches as markers when I go mining...
"I don't know why it's called a hair troll... because it's a hairy troll, I guess?"
That would be my guess as well.
Jon's nose gives you fire resistance but he is not immune to lava hahaha
John weapons shoulda had a special effect that spawns noses to fight by your side

Fun fact: Pumpkin spice isn't made with anything from pumpkins
Placing the Mugs is so cute! It would be awesome if they add different colored mugs too!
I know you’ll crash your game, but I wanna see you bonemeal the soul fruit
Justice for John 😭😭
unironically im adding the tea mod to a modpack its such a simple cute mod
Hot kettles mod felt like an old mod showcase video... I loved it. Best part of the video.
Perhap the dvd splash text needs color changing text and a fade to the background.
Crazy thing is hot kettles still only has ~300 downloads
4:10: Note to self: We have now made a Spring Loaded Hammer from BoTw.
Genius. Downright genius.

the torch mod would have saved me so much 😭 im so bad at navigating caves in mc for some reason
I'm surprised some of these were so far down the download list. I'm not really a modder but some nice little touches.
Battle Botanist deserved an A. Clearly you're meant to plant more of those cacti, and it looks like it has potential.
The first one was great in concept but had a regular execution honestly.
Blocky bass is so nostalgic to me, i love it
I believe that you nailed the voices of the people who complain about everything
Longshot is amazing, downloading ASAP!
the john mod shoudl have a nose varient called a "runny nose" that's faster and shoots out like a sneeze blast
24:25 is the song your referring to "Don't worry be happy" by Bobby McFerrin lol.
I just love smaller mods
5:11, this is the mod in the thumbnail! You're welcome.

I hate the hair trolls and I don’t know why I wish that never existed.
The trolls seem to be inspired by the ones from Castle Crashers
The kettle mod could go well either way the thirst was taken
