      I agree. I wouldn't split a bill equally if I had one thing and someone had so many more. It seems like I am paying for someone else's food. If you want to eat/drink the whole restaurant/bar, that's your choice, but you are paying for what you had! If we had fairly similar amount of stuff and the cost is not very different, it's ok to split equally.

      I don't mind paying for friends. But I always establish whose going to pay for what before we get there. Usually if they don't have money, they don't want to go but I offer to pay for them so it's not a problem. If you have friends that willingly go to restaurants with you knowing they can't afford it and expecting you to get the bill, you need to get some new friends.

    I have stopped going out to dinner with more than like 2 other people for this very reason...and certain people I just won't go to dinner with anymore at all because I know they expect to split the check in very unfair ways. I don't care for wine at all and often times we'll go to a restaurant that does not have liquor, so they all get drinks and I don't. I'm sorry, but it's not "cheap" for me to not wish to involuntarily throw money away on someone else's meal.
    Now, if the overall bill is like $50 for my share but us splitting it evenly causes me to pay $55, I'm not going to make a big fuss about that. A few dollars here or there is okay. But once it gets to where I'm paying $10, $20 more than I should be, I have a problem with that because it begins to add up...more often than not, the same people in a group are the ones who repeatedly end up overpaying. That's why some people try to label you as "cheap," because they are never on the receiving end of paying too much and you ALWAYS are. It's not a one-time thing and they don't realize that. And hell, even if it IS a one-time thing, why do you feel entitled to a discount on your meal, at my expense?! It really pisses me off. I find it to be incredibly rude.

    • @kayc.8283
      @kayc.8283 4 года назад

      But "they" do realize what they are doing. If they keep repeating this its because they think its ok to use you and think you will probably just pay for it to not seem cheap and if you say anything they will make you feel like you are. Its essentially gaslighting. I've only encountered this problem in work gatherings and when I'm going out with friends who have brought other friends. My circle would never do this as they respect that everyone has their own financial obligations and have dining etiquette.

    I don't mind paying for food at the movie theater because I know that's how they primarily make money and stay open. What I refuse to pay for is the candy. They sell small boxes of candy for $4-6 that you can find at the walmart or drug store next door for $1. You might as well not sell that at all because who in their right mind would pay for that knowing the price hike. If the boxes were bigger and harder to find candy maybe...smh.

    When I go with my best friend he always end up ordering literally everything from the menu and I order one thing and end up paying for half of the food. It's just so damn annoying. It's hard for me to say lets do separate check but people just need to be more considerate. It's about the moral of the situation.

    I've never bought food into the movie theater until this year.. I took my friends daughters to the movies and before we left one said "make sure you bring your big purse Ms. D, because we need to stop at the gas station for our snacks for the movies." I quickly switched purses to suit the occasion. I have not done that since, but I would if I had to.

    I was in a situation before where some friends and I went out to eat. One person paid for everyone's orders (granted I was prepared to pay for my own, but I guess he was feeling generous). The following day, we all went to eat out again; however, my friend that paid for our meals the previous night had an attitude with me. So, he asked the waiter to give everyone separate receipts. I thought it was a bit shady and I'm sure he still ended up paying for the others.
    As for the movie situation, it's usually 50/50 for me. Sometimes I'll purchase snacks from the theater, and sometimes I'll bring my own.

      88948895611499 After we all went out to eat the first night, we went back to our hotel (we were out of town for a couple of days). Him and I had to share a bed. He kept trying to touch me and was just being all-around annoying, despite the fact that I told him I only liked him as a friend four days before the trip even happened. He didn't take the rejection well and started acting out. The attitude carried on to the next day because I chose to ignore him the entire day for the sake of enjoying the remainder of the trip.

      Girl, that was the problem he liked u LOL ! That happened to me once ( Im A Guy ) I asked my best friend since kindergarten ( a girl ) and this was when i was in 7th Grade did she wanna go out with me and she of course said No but I didn't take it as a bad thing cus she loves me and i love her but we know it wasn't really meant to be anyway and we are still cool shes like my sister. And i hope y'all had worked it out after the trip lol

    • @DearKeith
      @DearKeith 9 лет назад +3

      Myronn Coleman Lol, he went against the grain and overstepped his boundaries. I was aware that he liked me and he was aware that I didn't feel the same way, and I felt like he was trying to take advantage of the fact that we were in the same bed. At one point, he even had the nerve to say that he expects things in return when he spends his money and time on others (two things I definitely didn't need from him). We didn't talk for about 4 months after that happened, but we eventually settled things. We don't have much of a friendship anymore though. I'm a guy, by the way.

And my girl-friend was actually like i didn't know lol cus she liked my best guy friend and i didnt know so we were laughing at each other and never said another word about it . We are still cool after 8 years in Grade School

    One time me and my friends split the check. I am flat broke. I bought a $5 dollar soup on purpose and then I had to end up spending like $20 dollars on other people's drinks and stuff. Like, oh no, why do I have to pay for you when I clearly don't have money even for me. Not to mention that sometimes some people end up mooching off of everyone else. They be forgetting to pay taxes and tips. Hell no.

    I worked at a major movie theater chain back in high school. The official policy on customers bringing in outside food & drink was as long as it wasn't extremely smelly or loud/noisy you could bring it in.
    JUST CLEAN YOUR MESS UP WHEN YOU LEAVE!
    If you are going to bring in outside food/drinks because you do not want to pay the concession stand prices, you at least can clean up after yourself when you leave.

Like my bff if she knows I'm low on money she will pay for me and other way around. I always bring snacks to the movies but I do buy a soda or slushee and I would NEVER return something after wearing it that's just rude. Someone else is gonna use their hard earned money to buy something you wore and who knows what bodily functions are in it ewwww hahaha

I just waited until it was returned to upload those pictures because one of my friend’s worked at the store lol she was also at that Prom

      Yes I understand what you are saying. You must think " if I'm being cheap then I'm being Clever" no
      Cheap is just saying I don't want to pay a lot or I want to save money ,and not wanting to give at all , while on the other hand clever is thinking of a way to manipulate the situation so that it works in your favor

    We get affordable things that are still good, out of manners. We don't like to take advantage and be like "oh well I'm not paying so I can get the most expensive"
